Wow, first trip to Wembley stadium this weekend and it didn't disappoint. I was really impressed by the facilities and the view from our seats was fantastic. Considering the size of the stadium you really have a great view of the action. The building is also quite spectacular to look at from the outside with this beautiful arc that lights up at night and shines different colours. The food and drinks are over priced but that is to be expected. The public transport from the stadium is also a nightmare after a big event and this was at 45k capacity, so cant image what it would be like at full capacity! But despite all that it was definitely an amazing experience. read more

In another example of how England can waste tremendous amount of taxpayer money, deliver a piece of architecture years behind schedule & way over budget that has many structural and planning flaws, please welcome Wembley Arena to the mix (the Millenium Dome & Bridge among a long list of others). I went to Wembley for the NFL football match between the Giants & Dolphins - the stadium, while gorgeous from the distance as you exit the tube station, is soulless, lacking any charisma, and basically just a large concrete mausoleum. The roof was supposed to be retractable to close up for those rainy English days & nights, but alas it only closes partially. Oh, and by the way, those bits still leak, so many people had to put up with large drops of water & leaks despite being in covered seats. The concession stands are a joke - poorly organised, never enough food or staff, overpriced and of the lowest possible quality you can imagine. Staff working at the gates are clueless about entrances and access - basically this is a poorly constructed, poorly managed, overprices typical English enterprise. Just awful. Its amazing how in this day & age with so many millions of pounds invested, time & consulting fees, the degree of ineptitude on display. Only fitting that the England manager that christened this shambolic stadium was in fact the shambolic Steve McLaren. I will stay away from this place if possible. read more

This is possibly the most amazing and beautiful venue I have ever been to watch a game of football. It comes at a price. It is is London (fantastic), it is not shared with any of the grounds of clubs in this football obsessed city (such as Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Chelsea, Fulham, Charlton et al) as it is our National Stadium. The home of England FA and the FA Cup final. Very expensive for tickets, espsically in 'Club Wembley' (please see seperate Qype review for the corporate seats) where we are talking thousands but the 90,000 capacity has made it quite easy to get England match tickets via http://www.thefa.com where you should subcribe in advance. Other tickets are sold by the Staduim or by the clubs involved. Expect to part with about £50 for a ticket and about £6 for a travelcard for transport to get there (which is still a nightmare and takes hours after modernisation), £5 for a programme and at least a tenner if you get hungrey. It's to Norman Foster's credit that he resisted the calls of traditionalists to retain the old twin towers and build a completely new stadium on this famous site. The old Wembley was overrated anyway and this modern facility is a huge improvement. The facilities are far better and the views of the pitch are excellent. My first visit there was for an American Football game and the atmosphere at it was great. Much better, in fact, than at the old Wembley. read more

My first ever trip to Wembley Stadium was to see the England v Switzerland Euro 2012 Qualifier. Even after being very squashed on the underground by some merry football fans, I was excited to step out of Wembley Park station and see the staduims arch in front of me. The atmosphere inside was electric as the sun shone through the open roof. The new Stadium is truly is an amazing feat of engineering. With a full capacity of over 85,000 the sound is an incredible 360 degree experience. The match itself was a typical England affair, with Switzerland fairing better for most of the game. The final score of 2-2 didn't really reflex the game play but both sets of fans seemed happy enough as they started the long walk back to the station. Well they are right Wembley is huge! I went to watch England v Germany. I am a member of England fans so got £5 off my ticket price, opted for the £40 ticket (paid £35). Big mistake! I can believe how high up I was, There was about 4 rows of seats behind me! I used a lift up to the seating levels, then on escalators up 5 levels and then I had to climb about another 30 steps and I have breathing problems! The players looked like ants, I would advise you not to go for the cheap seats if your going. I never had any food there, no way was I climbing back down those stairs. read more

Wembley lives up to its name, to say the least. Was lucky enough to see a Tottenham game here during my time in London, and it was by far the best game of 3 I saw in my time here in terms of the stadium. The atmosphere was excellent, particularly as I was in what seemed to be the unofficial "supporters" sector (it was the only one that stood the whole time). Being right next to the pitch was an incredible experience, seeing the best athletes in the world compete in the Premier League. Memories for a lifetime there. Getting in and out is very easy. The Wembley Park tube stop is a 5-10 minute walk from the stadium and even coming back, it wasn't too bad in terms of congestion on the trains. They did a good job of stalling people on the way out to ensure calmness at the station. Also felt concession prices were fair. Got some nice Christmas ornaments for ~£10. An experience I will remember for the rest of my life, that was awesome. read more

I was lucky enough to go to the new Wembley Stadium 3 times this year; for the FA Cup semi final and final, and for the Community Shield. Each time I loved it! I think the best way to arrive is by tube as you get a fantastic view looking up Olympic Way as you leave the tube station. It is a spectacular stadium, with plenty of room inside both in the seating area and at the bars and food stalls. The food and drink is expensive, and you can't take your own bottles in as you get searched at the entrance, so it's a good idea to eat and drink before you get there. There are plenty of clean toilets for both men and women! The views from the seats are great and I was pleased with the amount of leg room. The sound on the speakers is also good and the atmosphere was amazing. I would definitely go again for the whole experience, even if my team wasn't playing! read more

Most of the staff were lovely so it's a shame I'm giving it two star due to one member. me and my friend were both on crutches and were being sent here there and everywhere. like I said most staff were understanding and sympathectic. however one lady on level 5 was so extremely rude. we had asked for help in seeing if there were any seats available lowerr down on level 5 and her attitude was horrendous. we understood there was nothing so we made our way to the seats however a lovely gentlemen told us it's too high for us to get on crutches so tried to sort something for us. the lady from before had seen this and come over all guns blazing and had a go at us and the member of staff. my friend said she understood but being sent here there and everywhere when ur in pain someone had said to follow them so we did, she didn't care at all about the people. This is a great venue, the Cathedral of Football!!! We went to a Tottenham's Champions League game, and had a great experience. The staff does a great work managing and controlling the masses, which is a great task, considering that this venue can handle about 90,000 fans. The easiest way to get there is via the subway. It's definitely a great experience to watch a football match at Wembley Stadium. read more

Not a bad seat in the house, lots of facilities such as toilets and places to get food. One downside is that for such a massive stadium to have so little parking seems a bit strange. I'm not really a gambling, beer swilling type of guy, but it was my mate's birthday and I wasn't going to miss his bash. It cost £5 to get in and I was told drinks were reasonably priced. I wanted to be outside near the action but punters were smoking on mass by the track. I'm quite fond and attached to my lungs and pulmonary heart failure wasn't on any of our groups agenda. The blooms of smoke billowing towards our group quickly pushed us inside. This turned out ok as we were up by the bar at the top of the stadium. Below us in rows were people dining but I didn't check the menu. The clientele was as expected. There was a mixture of guys, some clearly hardcore gamblers, others just there for fun. Mostly they were the salt of the earth types. The ladies were the attractive, dressed nicely, in a smart casual you want to look at me whilst I drink my beer type. There is also an executive service which separates the corporate rich folk from the mass, wining and dining them in opulent splendour. It was inevitable I would have a flutter. I had my race card in hand, and armed with the snippets of advice given by friends I attempted to make a bet. I am a glaring novice in these matters and it showed. As the betting lady and I tried to communicate, me babbling like an idiot, she using slick betting lingo I eventually settled on a 123 reverse. I am a foolish optimistic and a believer that the sun always shines. The dogs came hurtling out of the blocks and I was swept up on the wave of excitement, convinced I would win. Unsure whether to watch the screens or the track and completely unaware of what dogs were the ones I'd bet on, I yelled support anyway. I desperately wanted my £3 stake to magical transform into £36. Races are brief no more than 30sec on average so you have to be attentive. My first two dogs came in as I heard people exclaiming victory others despair. I needed Helenas Rock to make the trio. Although the race was over I was still frantically trying to find out who came third. To my dejection it wasn't Helenas Rock. Gutted! Whatever happened to beginners luck? I didn't win a single race all night. Nevertheless Wimbledon Dogs is a fun night out that is best enjoyed in groups of all ages and sexes. read more

The problem with the old Wembley, despite all its character, history and aura, was that it was a bit dated and run-down. The problem with the new Wembley is that by the time it was actually open to the public and available for use, it was a laughing stock because of the time and money it took to build. There was too much expectation by then and with the problems of the pitch and the fact that it needs time to create its own standing and magic moments as a new stadium, people have kind of written it off as an expensive failure. But if you go, for the user it is great. The facilities are fantastic and the access is very good. The view is awesome from all the way round the ground and the seats are more comfortable than at other arenas. It is an achitectural masterpeice and I'd love to go back and cheer on England in an important game. Let's hope they sort out the surface so the place can get some positive press for a change. read more

Going to the Dogs at Wimbledon is a cracking night out. There are plenty of vouchers to get in and get drinks on the cheap, but the real cost is the gambling which can sucker you in and left your wallet empty. My lack of gambling knowledge was easily exposed when placing the first bet but I soon picked up the alien lingo and won a tenner on one of the races. The best tip is to go for tri casts which for a 50p stake can net big winnings if your mutts finish in the predicted order. Each race is only 30 seconds long and with 10 races in the night there is plenty of opportunity to win or lose. I would definitely recommend going to the Dogs to anyone looking for a decent night out. read more

I'm an American. I came here October 2010 for the 49er vs. Bronco American football game. It was a huge journey getting here from Westminister but well worth it. The tube is super easy to navigate anyway. This has got to be the most well organized stadium I have ever been to in my LIFE. This place was insanely clean. Can't say much for the food since I didn't eat. You won't find me complaining about the price of beer since the American dollar is so weak everything was pricey to me anyway.. The new Wembley Stadium is phenomenal. It's huge, certainly one of the biggest stadiums in the world. The architecture is amazing, and the giant load-bearing arch means that there are no columns or pillars required inside for support, thus no obstructed views. The seats are steep and high. Being on the concourse is like being in an airport, they're so huge and shiny. Toilets are plentiful, and - when I was there twice last summer, for Muse and Live Earth - still sparkling clean, with vases of flowers inside. There are plenty of helpful staff. Food and drink is plentifully available, although food is exorbitantly expensive (the smallest non-snack item is a cheeseburger at £7.50). Beers aren't as wildly expensive as you'd fear, though. Both times I was there I was in the Club Wembley area. This meant that I was under the north roof (although it didn't rain) in wider, cushioned seats that had padded armrests. Being in a cushioned seat rather than a hard plastic one is definitely worth it if you're going to be there for 7 hours, as I was for both my marathon concert events. There is a posh bar inside for people in the Club section, but it was closed for the two concerts I attended. I feel the same about Wembley as I feel about the O2: it's crappy that there are some events that you just can't see in a smaller venue, but if you have to go big, this is going big in style. I don't see how a 60,000-person venue could reasonably be made to be any more comfortable, clean, impressive, or useful. read more

Well! My *400th* review and it goes to none other than a London icon -- which I was lucky enough to visit for the first time during an Olympic match of football/soccer. Consider me a clean slate when it comes to the checkered past of its renovation, but also without knowledge of its amazing history. Well, at least you have a chance to learn about the latter, as they have plenty of plaques, statues and commemorative paraphernalia to explain just how special this venue is. I found my experience here to be top notch. You can't beat walking out of the Tube station and getting that glorious view! Then, down the steps and straight into a convenient walk that leads right up to the doors. No confusion about which direction or where to turn -- literally, you walk straight out the station and into the stadium. Along the way you'll walk with other patrons, brandishing their kits, flags and makeup, and of course the burger and kebab stands, which builds up the excitement and atmosphere. We had mid-level tickets so security was a breeze and the entrance lobby was incredibly modern and sleek. A bit soul-less for a sports venue, I admit, and perhaps more suitable for a conference, but at least in good nick. If I had one gripe about this place, is that it didn't have much "personality". We headed up to our appropriate level, which offered a restaurant, one main concession with beer, wine, tea/coffee and crisps (card or cash). Definitely lacking in food options (one Fish and Chips shop (£10) or a steak sandwich cart; or the incredibly overpriced £25/pp sit down fare of Flute -- and you still have to order yourself by fighting the crowd at the bar, pub-style ... wha?? However, people seemed to be eating homemade food or out of bags from M&S, so I must have missed the memo that you don't have to get gouged by stadium food fare. Honestly, in context for a sports venue, prices weren't awful -- £9 for two Heineken, £1.60 for water and about £2.50 for small can of Pringles. (Oh, and FYI you're never allowed to take alcoholic drinks to your seats at matches here in UK no matter the venue) Our seats were fantastic. They were cushioned and super comfy for a sports venue, and letting people by wasn't the tragic purse-stepping, knee-smacking, shuffling affair per usual. The atmosphere was low-key, but I assume that was because it's the Olympics and we're all meant to be on good behavior. No standing, no swearing and no hurled insults (very different than my Arsenal experience!). Our seats stayed nice and dry while the lower level first 20 rows or so got soaked. OK, now for the big test -- siphoning 80,000 people out of a venue, down that same walk (that looked so spacious when it wasn't wall-to-wall with people at once) and onto the Tube. Since you don't cross any roads, there isn't too much an issue, but they still sectioned off groups to keep the Tube platforms manageable. My husband and I thought we'd beat the whole mess and turned down a side road to go to a pub to wait it all out. But our friends got stuck in the middle and couldn't escape. It took them about 30 minutes to make it from their seats to the Tube. Which is not bad at all -- I can name plenty of post-concert parking lot fiascos that lasted literally hours. About 25 minutes after they arrived at the pub, we went back to the Tube and voila! No crowds, we jumped right on. I would be stoked to go back to a game here, remembering to splurge for the mid-level seats and to check into bringing in your own food to save cash. read more

A must see venue if you are a sporting fan. Whether it's football, rugby or American football - Wembley seems to have it all. I absolutely love the venue. I'm rather fortunate, I used to work at the venue for a couple of years, on and off. Having worked at other football stadiums, I can definitely say that this is one of the best, if not the best stadium in the country. If you can, try and get yourself a ticket on Level 2: the best seats in the house! And you're likely to bump into a famous face or two. The hospitality in Level 2 is amazing, I mean business class style. Have a walk around if you get a chance, there's some interesting "toys" towards the middle of Club Wembley, it's a shame people don't always see them. The whole place looks amazing and feels brand spanking new. The only thing I'm not keen on is the price of food inside! It can cost you something like £8 for chips and a burger - they are tasty burgers, don't get me wrong, but I don't know if I'll be happy paying that. Mind you, if you can afford the tickets at Level 2, you're probably not going to complain about £8. Also, be wary of when you exit then stadium. If you are going to a cup final, you can be sure there's going to be a wait to get on the train - but don't worry, there's always the merchandise sellers on Olympic Way to keep you amused. I've been fortunate enough to go to Wembley Stadium twice in the last month and have been so impressed with it. We were in the Bobby Moore suite for the England v Slovenia match. I was surprised how big it was but also how fantastic. The staff were so polite, friendly and attentive. We were given a glass of champagne on arrival and we ordered our food from the menu. The food was amazing and really nicely presented. I had baked camembert for starter, veal for main course and then chocolate and cassis dessert. All of it was cooked perfectly and so tasty. The only small thing was that there wasn't enough bread for the camembert, although they did bring round more bread and butter for the table so it wasn't a problem. My boyfriend and a few others on our table had the quail starter. It was tiny, although very nice, and I think they were eyeing up my big cheesy starter when they finished! There were bottles of white and red wine on the table for us to help ourselves to and we could order other drinks from the waiting staff, all included in the ticket. It was fun in the Bobby Moore suite with live music from Candy Apple, interviews with old football legends and the mascots walking around for photo opportunities with guests. The seats for the match were fantastic. Soft and padded, on the half way line and really close to the action. At half time we could go back inside for more drinks and after the match there were mini steak and ale pies for everyone, plus the chance to stay longer and enjoy the live music and more drinks. Was there for an NFL game with 84,000 people and the atmosphere inside was just terrific. I left right as the game ended, walked to the underground in a hurried pace, boarded the train and was back to my hotel in less than 20 minutes. I attend games here in the states and public transportation leaving a stadium with 1/2 as many people is a nightmare. The fan fare outside the stadium was very cool too. Beer prices were very reasonable but the food was VERY lackluster. Was in a line for a hot dog, got to the front and left because it looked pretty bad. Decided on a hamburger which left much to be desired. Game, stadium, atmosphere...awesome. Concessions...not so much. Enjoyable experience. read more

"We're the boys in Red and we're on our way to Wem-ber-ly" Granted, I came for the Wembley Cup, but it was still the song I had in the back of my mind. This little competition took place between world renowned Celtic and Barcelona and featured lowly African champs Al-Ahly and some team named Tottenham. Regarless, the stadium is amazing. Granted I never got to see the old Wembley, but I've heard it was quite the transformation, even if it did go over budget and piss a lot of people off. Getting in and out of the stadium was easy, although it is a long walk to either the tube or overground, but it isn't as congested as I thought it would be. I'd love to come back and see an England game or FA Cup final and see this place go absolutely off. I think that is really what Wembley is meant to be used for. read more

I saw stock car racing here and a had a great time. Think gladiatorial banger racing set in a lower-leagues dreary stadium, complete with blood-thirsty cheers from supporters as their favoured cars passed. At first, I admit, I was sceptical. How fun could racing around an oval track be, even if the slow procession of cars to the starting grid was evocative of childhood favourite, Super Mario Kart? Turns out, pretty entertaining, particularly as the track got more and more slippery and the engine sizes of the cars started to increase race to race. Soon there were cars spinning into the side, being rammed off the track and, once, near the end, a car flipping over on to its roof after some unlucky side-swipes. Even the racing proved more absorbing than I had expected, with leading cars sometimes relinquishing certain wins after wiping out around the last corner. The rather dangerous nature of proceedings seemed rather surreal too, what with the cars whizzing around just over 10 metres from the watching crowd. The price is a little high, around £20 for a day's racing but there are about 12-15 races for that, including a no-rules demolition derby at the end. All in all, a entertaining and unexpectedly rewarding insight into working class Wimbledon. read more

Wow just wow! That would be enough to describe this place but I feel I should do it justice and explain why I think it's top of the pops. I remember as a 15 year old boy (long time ago I know!) going to the old Wembley to watch a under18's England game and that blowing me away at the time standing on Wembley way and looking at the twin towers, but once your inside the place it's dark old and you could tell the old place as had its day. But there was still something magical about the place nevertheless. Fast forward nearly a decade till my next visit the old iconic twin towers were long go and in their place was a massive arch of steel and wires looking like a bike wheel. Walking up Wembley way you still feel the same magical feeling from the old Wembley the new one looks ten times taller and bigger to be fair so that adds to the effect. Once you step inside the new stadium is when it comes into its own...firstly tons and tons of turnstiles to get into the place with security everywhere doing pat downs and bag checks, everywhere is clearly signed so you won't get lost finding where you need to go, taking the stairs is a good exercise before watching a game. Then you find your seat and that's when the new Wembley comes into its own! Wow what a view! I have been there 3 times now and sat in 3 different areas and the views from each place are amazing. The food at half time is abit pricey but you are at Wembley in the middle of London so can't complain to much, there's plenty of loos as well so no need like at the old one waiting for a age to go. If you haven't already been you need to go and experience it for yourself it's truly amazing well I think so as you can probably tell haha read more

Beautiful stadium, easy to navigate, clean restrooms (with PRIVACY), friendly staff, great sound and seats, cold beer.....all in all an excellent experience. We were amazed at the open bulk candy kiosks, and even more amazed at just how friendly all of the British fans were. Unlike in the US where everyone roots for their one team, the Brits just loved American football, period. There were people there in jerseys for one team and a hat for another, with every team in the NFL represented. They didn't care who won or lost, they just came to watch the game. It was actually quite refreshing! Of course, as a Chiefs fan I was particularly amused when they picked up on the tomahawk chop chant and subsequently the chant of "Let's Go Royals" all the way back to the tube. It was positively surreal. The only down side was the food....I know stadium food isn't the best anyway, but this was a bit more disappointing than I've had at other stadiums in the US. I was there for the Chiefs/Lions NFL game, and they had a hot dog that I've since learned was at the request of the Chiefs management.....a hot dog, topped with pulled pork BBQ, topped with mac & cheese. Not good. Really, whatever the Chiefs were thinking, they should have left that on the drawing board. read more

Well it's an icon isn't it. It's huge, impressive and actually manages to foster a fun and excitable atmosphere for the games they put on here - when it's full that is. The downsides are; It's a schlep to get here from Central London The prices for food and beer are outrageous Unless you're seated on the right side of the stadium, you choose to leave early or can outrun Usain Bolt, you're going to be queueing for quite some time to get back on the tube at Wembley Park. Not enough to put me off going to the games mind you, only I've been spoilt in the past by living in Cardiff and having the Millenium Stadium experience on a number of occasions. I think it might actually be quicker for me to get to the Millenium than to Wembley sometimes. read more

I was a massive fan of the old Wembley Stadium which set high standards which the new one doesn't quite live up to. That said, the fact that I witnessed one of the greatest games of recent times (Charlton 4-Sunderland 4 in a play-off final) and an Oasis concert might have given my visits a real sense of occasion, unlike my first experience of the new one, a drab friendly between England and USA. The stadium itself is nice enough. I like the fact that you can see the arch when approaching, it's not quite as grand as the twin towers but it is a good replacement. There are no pillars like the old stadium either which mean that everyone gets a good view and even the seats behind the goal are closer to the pitch. But the one thing which the new stadium doesn't have is the atmosphere. Even for a friendly game this was bad. It seemed like people couldn't be bothered with it. My mind did wonder during the game as at times I forgot I was watching the game in the stadium as opposed to the TV. Food and drink wise it is extortionate. I would strongly advise eating and having a drink before attending any event here. You can feed a whole group for the price of one at Wembley. For those who remember the old stadium, prepare to be disappointed. But even I have to concede that even though the stadium has lost some of its character, it has improved in some areas. Perhaps it needs a little time to achieve its own history and character before the atmosphere develops. We shall see. read more

Wow it's very big, isn't it? Realy really really big. I noticed just how big it was when I got bored of standing and found myself sat right in the middle of the stadium (impatiently waiting for The Foo Fighters who weren't due to turn up for another million hours). But aside from the fact that it's Wembley, is it that great? No actually. If I was reviewing the gig, the amazingness that is the Foo Fighters and how wonderful it was to be at the biggest gig ever, then this place would be scoring a five, but if we're just talking about the venue, I'm torn between a three and a four. A lot of the reviews are football based and actually, it would be amazing to watch a football match here. It's just not a gig venue. How they cram everyone in to the standing area is pretty horrid. Especialy when there's seats left. Haf of the stadium can't see anything. And depsite the fact the stage revolves, the Foos didn't spend much time revolving. I'd have been pretty pissed off if I'd have been right at the back of the seats seeing the back of the band. All night. But they did get the encore which was kinda nice. Oh, and the sound is pretty shit too. It's big. It echos. Small bands were getting lost in it's size - and when I say small bands, I'm actualy talking about Supergrass and wel, they're pretty great. But Wembley is too immense for them and they couldn't carry it off. But, it was Wembley. It was The Foos. It was Dave Grohl being wonderful and the best gig I've ever seen in my life. So for that, it can have another star. read more

Wow mixed reviews or what!!! Well we didnt walk the walk from the tube...we parked for £15.00 it was money well spent...as it was a freezing night and between a few of us it was cheaper than the train. Its all singing ringing coloured lights etc outside and was well laid out.There are lots of bathrooms and bars...food and drink are at there normal rip off prices but not nealy as bad as they could have been. Overall we had a great time we could see the band just fine and they sounded great...good night had by all. read more

I have not been to wembley since the new stadium has been built and do not intend to go anytime soon due to the extortionate prices! How can they expect working class families to take the kids out for an england match, you would amost need to re-mortgage the house in order to raise the money (just for the tickets). Then for food and drink Please do not get me started. The whole re-building saga as well is shocking, delay after delay, problem after problem and a sheer and utter waste of money. It is also tragic that the FA brought in an Aussie company to undertake the project who were inexperienced. read more

I've seen a few gigs here & have always been impressed with the sound, atmosphere & overall presentation. Access is good (by road or public transport), which never ceases to surprise considering it's location in North London. Drinks & food are a little overpriced, but I always accept this as part of the experience, & I imagine doesn't differ from similar venues. If arriving by train, note that Wembley Central station is 20-30 mins walk away, & the closest station is Wembley Park. read more

I've only been to Wembley Stadium twice and both times were for concerts. The sound is always very good and contained and you can tell its a tightly run ship. I just didn't appreciate the prices of the food and drink but hey ho, its similar to the O2 and serves its purpose. read more

Wembley is immense, don't get me wrong but having been to every game and sat in almost all the sections you have to be warned there there's more atmosphere on Jupiter than the upper tiers and as for Club Wembley seats well don't get me started, they spend half their time inside watching it on TV and sipping Cava. The only place to sit is in the singing section to be honest, always a good atmosphere views aren't bad and it's the only place with any passion - seats cost about £55 - 60 but are worth it. If it didn't look so good I'd say get rid of the 60,000 seats from club Wembley up! read more

The new Wembley Stadium is phenomenal. It's huge, certainly one of the biggest stadiums in the world. The architecture is amazing, and the giant load-bearing arch means that there are no columns or pillars required inside for support, thus no obstructed views. The seats are steep and high. Being on the concourse is like being in an airport, they're so huge and shiny. Toilets are plentiful, and - when I was there twice last summer, for Muse and Live Earth - still sparkling clean, with vases of flowers inside. There are plenty of helpful staff. Food and drink is plentifully available, although food is exorbitantly expensive (the smallest non-snack item is a cheeseburger at £7.50). Beers aren't as wildly expensive as you'd fear, though. Both times I was there I was in the Club Wembley area. This meant that I was under the north roof (although it didn't rain) in wider, cushioned seats that had padded armrests. Being in a cushioned seat rather than a hard plastic one is definitely worth it if you're going to be there for 7 hours, as I was for both my marathon concert events. There is a posh bar inside for people in the Club section, but it was closed for the two concerts I attended. I feel the same about Wembley as I feel about the O2: it's crappy that there are some events that you just can't see in a smaller venue, but if you have to go big, this is going big in style. I don't see how a 60,000-person venue could reasonably be made to be any more comfortable, clean, impressive, or useful. read more
