Once, we were delayed in Harlan due to mechanical problems, and would need fuel in Hazard or London before heading on to Frankfort. They were more than willing to wait for us to come back, and would not take extra $$ no matter how much I insisted. These guys are great; I try to stop by every time I'm headed east. If you land after the building is closed, they've got their home and cell numbers, and won't hesitate to come fill your tank, or take you the few miles into town to a hotel.

This place was very clean, nice bathrooms and the called me over the radio to ask if I needed fuel and directed me to where I need to go. Very friendly staff. I can't wait to fly back down here again. I was also told they have a huge helicopter fly in that would be fun to come see.

Very good food from local hotdog diner and from the past "hanger" eatery. Low traffic. If you want to see aircraft leaving and arriving, come on the weekends. It is a very popular bar so don't think about bringing kids.
