We always sit at the bar, and Gerri -- the Tuesday bartender/server -- is a big part of why we keep coming back. From the moment she sees us walking in, Gerri already has our drinks waiting at our usual seats. She remembers what her regulars like to eat and drink, down to the details: crispy fries, the exact temperature of the burger, and even our preferred condiments. She keeps the bar lively, friendly, and welcoming. We typically arrive right at opening time at 11 a.m. On days when we show up a few minutes early, Gerri will unlock the door and invite us inside rather than have us wait outside. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare, and it speaks volumes about how Square 1 treats its loyal customers. The food is consistently excellent. In our opinion, Square 1 makes the best burgers in The Villages. Their Chicago dogis top notch, and the X Rated Grilled Cheese is always a winner. They also offer a loyalty program tied to your phone number, and Gerri keeps track of her customers' numbers so she can enter them without asking each time -- another thoughtful touch. We often rotate restaurants when searching for a great burger, but Square 1 continues to stand out. The meals are delicious, the service is exceptional, and it's only about a 20 minute golf cart ride for us.
