Dr. Raben has been my primary doctor for awhile now, and part of the reason I chose her is that she has Saturday hours for established patients without an extra fee as long as you have an appointment. Regular copayment is always better than an urgent care center copayment! She has a lab, x-ray & ultrasound machines in her office, which make it more efficient whether getting a routine physical or a diagnosis when you're sick. In addition to treatment, she also offers some nutrition related medicine such as the vitamin IV's, which I'm a believer in. Dr. Raben's also offered phone consults before it was trendy. Her staff is friendly and helpful in getting your appointments. Heads up, Dr. Raben is direct. Besides still keeping paper record like the old day her bedside manner is to the point and lets you know what you (and yours truly) sometimes might not want to hear about your habits and health. That's sometimes needed!

However I was then told that my new physician is booked until after the "First of the Year" (3 months out)! Really! 3 months!!! Good thing I was not in a hurry!! When I asked about seeing another physician I was told that I could see "a new doctor" who, turns out to being a nurse practitioner NOT A DOCTOR al all!! I asked if I could see another "doctor" in the practice and the answer was "no, sorry, there's nothing I can do " I'm looking for another Primary Care Physician!

I have always considered him to my own personal miracle worker. I am sure he doesn't remember, but about 15 years ago I was vacationing at Marco Island. I was in the swimming pool with the kids who were playing Marco Polo. One of the boys accidently kicked me in the small of my back. It didn't really register with me until the next morning when I was so sore I couldn't lift the suitcases. On the two-hour ride home my back got progressively more painful and by the time we got home, my husband had to take me directly to the Emergency Room. We were there for most of the night while they took x-rays and examined me. They could not find any injury and sent me home with a painkiller - it was not effective. By the next morning I could not move because of the pain. My husband called Dr. Zager, who had us come in at 8:30 am, before office hours. He examined me and diagnosed an inflamed sciatic nerve. He gave me a shot of cortisone. It was miraculous. The pain was gone. It was literally a one-shot deal - I have never had a reoccurrence of any back issues.
