The quality of the massage is good but the facility is dated and looks unsanitary. The place could use major renovation and cleaning.

After 2 full weeks of activities under the sun that involved a lot of walking all day, plane…read moreriding, sightseeing, island hopping, sun bathing, eating, shopping and partying with relatives, it was time to give my feet and body a break by unwinding and relaxing with a full day of pampering at Blue Water Day Spa. It was my cousin's idea to do an entire day of relaxation for my husband and I along with her husband as well. So she booked appointments for all of us to do together on the day before my birthday, what a treat! We had our appointments set for Sunday at 2pm which is the time that they open. Upon arrival, we filled out forms, went through their menu of services and price rates, and then specified which services we wanted. They also asked us what type of pressure for massages were in for - soft, medium or hard. Once all the forms were filled out, we were all given water to hydrate and then taken back to the changing rooms (separate for men and women) where there are lockers, shower stalls, toilet stalls and a sauna. It was then that were given keys for our lockers, a spa robe, spa shorts and a shirt. In addition to that, we were also given disposable underwear which was an option for you to use. You also have the option to shower before/after you do any of your services and you better believe I took advantage of that. In fact, I showered right before we did the sauna and then again right after we were done. Then we changed into our spa outfits and were led by the female therapists into the massage/scrub room and gently assisted onto our individual beds w/waterproof covers. We started off with the green tea full body scrub which lasted for about 90 minutes and that was amazing! After we finished our scrub, we dressed back into our spa tops and robes and went back to shower. Then we were led back to the massage room where we were placed on the opposite side of the room where the beds this time around were covered in soft white sheets. We had a swedish massage service which lasted for about 90 minutes and that was also amazing! During both the entire scrub and massage services, the female therapists would often ask if everything was okay (in tagalog of course!). Once that was done, we were gently assisted with our outfits/robes, slippers and then asked what kind of tea we wanted to drink (ginger tea, icea tea, water or coffee). My cousin and I then went back to the locker room to shower one last time and then afterwards we were led into a large theater room where we met up with our husbands that had just finished their massages. This is were we enjoyed the comfortable lazy-boy recliners, individual blankets, our drinks, dark room setting, a movie on the big screen, the company and lastly our essential balancing facials w/masks. Those facials were definitely a great way to end our day of pampering. Time went by so fast that it was 7pm by the time we were all done! After we changed, we then went to the front desk to pay for the services and put tips into each of the therapists badge wallets that we held onto in woven baskets that we carried with us during the entire process. Overall, it was an awesome and painless experience that I would do over again in a heartbeat! Price rates here were reasonable and the services were worth it!

I went ahead and availed of the 1 hour Thai Massage (P300) w/oil (P50). I'm no expert on Thai massage practices but the oil was scarcely used during this session so I recommend you don't avail of it like I did. Rookie mistake but didn't really detract from the great massage experience I had waiting for me. A lot happens within an hour's time. There was never a dull moment in the massage. From stretching, to twisting, to your body being slightly contorted around. After just an hour of massage, my body felt so loose and relaxed. I'm a late sleeper but within an hour or so of arriving home i couldn't help but call it a night. I slept like a baby and woke up feeling rejuvenated and my body completely free of the soreness I was previously experiencing. If you're in the Morato area and having trouble deciding where to get a massage (there's a lot of places in this area) I definitely recommend you give Nuat Thai a try. Pros -Clean and accommodating facility. There's even an upstair area with more rooms if they're a bit slammed. -Affordable services. -Many branches located all over the Metro. -Open late, until 3AM. Last call is around 1:50AM. Cons -Might have to wait a bit for a masseuse during peak times.

But the thing with Nuat Thai is you get what you pay for. Because it's a lot cheaper than other massage places, it tends to get a little crowded, especially during the weekends or holidays. The branch in BF Homes on Aguirre Street has horrible ambiance. Most of the time, the worst of the noise comes from the staff members themselves - you can hear them laughing loudly or talking to each other. The branch along Makati Ave is quieter, although a tiny bit more expensive. If all you want is a quick and cheap massage, then Nuat Thai will do. Their massages aren't bad at all, and if you're very lucky with your masseuse, you'll get rest and relaxation that feels a lot more than you paid for.
