Gaggle of 4 women/girls clustered in cash register area more interested in their conversation than helping customers. One person said she didn't know, another person gave invalid info instead of saying she didn't know. Found answer to my question online. Please educate your team to help customers and dig for answers to questions. Frustrating experience. Definitely gave off vibe that customers are annoying. Too bad bc I enjoy your selection of merchandise and prefer to shop local. I'll shop for my bird supplies at Lusby hardware where they are friendly AND helpful. read more

Great selection of plants of every kind! When other nurseries lack what you need, it's likely that this branch of Wentworth has it. Prices tend to be lower than nurseries closer to DC, and staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and will find answers to your questions if they don't know. In the fall and winter, there are money saving promotions on outdoor shrubs and trees, so it's a great time to buy. read more

This is the 2nd time we have used Wentworth for our landscaping needs. They did such a great job the first time that we didn't hesitate to call them again. Once again, they did an outstanding job. Richard drew up a creative solution to our needs and the guys came and worked hard while also communicating with us to achieve the goals in mind. I came here expecting to get a few nice things for my garden, and I was absolutely shocked. The insanely HIGH prices immediately turned my husband and I away. Not only that, I heard one of the managers (I'm assuming) speak very rudely to staff. I am appalled with the acts of the management and the unbelievable prices, I will not be returning. read more

I've been to this location now twice. for the prices they charge, which are very high, you would think they would offer even minimal customer service. They don't. I walked through their facility for 10 minutes. Not one employee greeted me asked if they could help, they just sit around talking to one another read more

This is a medium sized nursery that does have a good variety of plants. If I could give it a 3 and a half stars, I would. I didn't see any bulk mulch. Only bags. The staff member I spoke to was very knowledgeable about plants. Specifically the black knight buddleja I wanted. They had sold out but he offered one similar. They load your bags of mulch or stone into your vehicle, so don't feel worried if you're older. I used to work at a garden shop and when you loaded heavy bags of bulk product into a car or truck a 2 dollar tip was much appreciated. If you don't give one it wasn't a big deal. They weren't expected. read more

I always go for good service and I am willing to pay a little more for good service. The people there know their product and are always so helpful. They even know exactly where things are located. They are also more mature than the kids you find working at the garden center at Walmart. You pay for what you get. read more

Been going here for years because it is convenient and I'm too lazy to drive across the river to Lowe's to buy flowers and plants. Prices are super high, but I've never had a problem with any of the flowers. I did buy ten 6' pine trees which they planted, and a lot of them died. They were covered by a warranty and replaced, but the whole process was sort of a hassle. They also have a large variety of mulch, stones, etc. Service is always good, and the people who work here are helpful. I'd give them a 3rd star if the prices were more reasonable, but if you just need some flowers or bag mulch, walmart is a better deal. read more

Went there to redeem some customer rewards dollars- 90.00 worth-- they were slightly expired but I was told by one employee that I could still use them. Well, when I went in to buy some mulch I was waited on by Monica who got an attitude immediately and very rudely told me no. She started interrogating me as to who I had spoke to and when I didn't have a name she treated me like a liar- she still said no and started to walk away. Funny thing is the manager was standing right there with another customer-- she couldn't have asked him?? I did-- and he honored my check. This nursery has been overpriced for years but I was willing to pay because they are the only one around. Go to Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville Md instead. Great selection of trees, plants, flowers etc. Knowledge of same did not meet my expectations. Pricing for landscape and grass work VERY EXCESSIVE (6 times what I would consider reasonable) with no guarantee of results. Local contractors are my solution. read more

Richard was great to work with. His crew arrived on time and went over and above for us as they landscaped our back yard and pool area. It's been a few years and our landscaping has thrived. We didn't lose any plants after initial installation. They know their plants and they did a great job. I would definitely recommend. read more

This place is a ton of fun, nursery, green house and gift goodie shop. I can spend an hour walking around with my garden and patio dreams going wild. The staff is super helpful, considering that it is a small space they pack it in. read more

We have used Wentworth's consistently for several years now since redoing a home. If everyone in the home improvement industry were as reliable and consistent to work with as Jason and Mike, we'd have it made. Jason is great with planning -- he schedules appointment to review the needs at the property, puts together a well thought out plan for all areas that you want assistance (we have had pool deck, paver patio work, landscaping beds, firepit area, grading and plants -- you name it) and schedules the crews to come in. Mike is normally our foreman and he is exceptional -- a very hard worker, and great crew of people to support the work done properly and on time. I have great confidence in the work they do -- professional, up front on budget and always ensure you are happy with the work performed. read more
