SUMMARY: DO NOT ATTEND THE EGG DROP. we attended the helicopter egg drop today. We stood in the sun for 2 hours with absolutely no shade to wait in a line where in the last 10 minutes everyone bunches to the front and skips you anyways. On top of that my 2 year old was excited to get eggs dropped from the helicopter, but we had no idea that ALL of those eggs were unfilled. So after $33, being in the sun for 2.5 hours with no shade, my daughter walks away empty handed and crying about no candy. I will never shop at Greenstreet after this crook activity, going to homestead gardens instead. read more

Do not give any of your money to these people. I "backed" a $130 indoor smart planter from them on Kickstarter and never received a single thing in return. The man who runs this company is a fraud. However good their garden shop may be, the owner is unethical and doesn't deserve your business. read more

This nursery grows plants that may LOOK like the ones you get in big box stores. But they're grown the right way. Better soil so better, stronger roots. No excess nitrogen to trick the plant into blooming so you'll buy it, but which weaken it on your garden. You get what you pay for and quality matters. plus, Maggie is a fount of knowledge most of us regular gardeners don't know. Check them out!! read more

Greenstreet Gardens - Plant hanger - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Lothian, Maryland

Bottom Line: A large garden center that also has a smallish gift shop and hosts special events. Greenstreet Gardens is famous for its Fall Festival and while I'm sure that's a great annual event I visit Greenstreet primarily for the garden center. Regarding plants, shrubs and trees, Greenstreet has a huge selection outside and in the greenhouse. They carry some of my favorite brands like Proven Winners and Iseli so that's a bonus. I last visited Greenstreet in mid July and I was pleased with their inventory and impressed at how good everything looked. This past July was super hot so keeping plants, shrubs and trees that are in pots/cans happy is quite a feat! Greenstreet has a small gift shop stocked with jewelry, scarves, candles, lotions, bags, local art and other goodie. On my most recent visit to Greenstreet I admired sketches from local artist Allison M. King and bought a big box bottom Scout bag that's been awesome for pool and beach season. Also, I really appreciate that Greenstreet has a water bottle filling station for their employees and guests alike! Greenstreet is a great place to shop for plants, shrubs and trees and always a nice experience. read more

I've been looking for string of hearts plants since I saw pictures of them on Instagram. I called and messaged pretty much every nursery in the area, and this place Instagram messages me back and said they had a few of the hearts seedlings. So I drove down to their store in Lothian and picked up my new baby plants. I also picked up a light pink hibiscus that I planted outside. I really liked this nursery, they have everything from trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, dog food, and gardening supplies. The place is huge and has very helpful staff too. I will cone back for more plants in the futures. read more

Five stars for the amazing Fall Festival! There's a lot of competition around for fall fests and I choose Greenstreets as it was way closer to DC than many other options and was so incredibly impressed that it's going to be a new annual tradition. Entry covers unlimited rides (both the classic hay ride and small individual "cow" rides), farm animals, face painting, a huge hay maze (we could not find our way out, whoops), tons of games and play structures and endless spaces to roam (including a spookier wooded section). Pumpkins and all kinds of plants are available to purchase and while I only bought min-gourds the prices seemed very reasonable. The one area the was lacking was concessions, they just have a small stand with popcorn, donuts and drinks so plan to stop for food elsewhere. Otherwise, a lovely green space full of tons of fun! read more

I want to thank everyone from Greenstreet Gardens for the fantastic trip to the Philadelhia Flower Show. This was my first time traveling with Greenstreet, but won't be the last. I enjoyed the am coffee and snacks as well as the special treats on the way home. Everyone was so nice and friendly, especially our hosts Lisa and Katie. Loved the peaceful atmosphere. It was so nice to be waved off on our adventure so early in the am by Stacie and Mr. Greenstreet, Sr. It was even nicer to be greeted late at night on our arrival home by Stacie Greenstreet with a wonderful goodnight and a going home goodie bag. We had a wonderful time at Greenstreet Gardens. We came to enjoy the corn maze with a group of friends. The atmosphere was perfect for families looking for some good clean fun. Each year we look for and choose our maze based on its theme and complexity of design. This year's theme was the Capitals Stanley Cup victory (all CAPS). Great theme and great corn maze. They had activities for all ages. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we would definitely recommend it for families looking for a great time. The two recommendations I would offer is to have real food in the back near the corn maze and not just snacks. The second suggestion is to stay open later than 5. It would have been nice to stay longer. read more

Dazed in the Maze review - I  found this event very disappointing. For the price of 35$, was not happy to find only 4 vendors in the maze, one being non alcoholic. It was also frustrating that the path to the event from the greenhouse was not clearly marked, if marked at all. There was no one around to direct us to the event until we found the woman on the bridge. Should also be options available for transporting to and from the parking lot, my friend has a bad knee and this was an issue. Was glad to hear someone mention a hayride...again, no clear direction, did find it, but the decorated areas were not really lit up. For the price, I feel the event was not planned or carried out well. Should have more and better options for not only drinks/tastings but also food. Street tacos were $18...did not buy those. Great concept, poor implementation. read more

Not a large variety of plants so maybe I'm looking for specific and eclectic plants. They also have limited planters and plant food. We really love the selection they have available. If they don't have it in stock, they can order it too. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. My only complaint pricing. I get the prices on some of the more rare or custom items but basic hanging annual baskets shouldn't be that expensive. We buy our large bushes and trees here but do anything annual at other locations or the county market. read more

We had just bought hanging baskets from Greenstreet a few weeks ago. They now have a bogo sale on them. I asked if they price match to which the employee didn't know so she brought the manager/owner? Katie out and she said "are you buying anything else?" I said no, and then she said "then no, I don't price match". I then asked what their return policy was and her answer was "so what, since I won't give you the sales price you are just going to return them and buy them again?" To which I answered "that's exactly what I'm going to do" and she said "fine I'll give you the sales price." While she pulled up our account she was clearly making faces to the employee who was facing us, and she was blatantly making faces back to Katie whenever she'd look at her. She then turned to me after a while, clearly just coming up with a new way to hassle us, and said "Do you have the plants with you?" And I said no (of course I didn't, nor should I have to, they have a full record of our purchases with them) and she said "well, you'll have to bring them back". This was clearly a spiteful ruse to hassle us, where she thought she'd either get to make us go out of our way or that we wouldn't come back. So, we left. Note she never said what the return policy was. I told my husband then and there that based off of her attitude and general rudeness if I brought them back we'd just be returning them. I called their VA store and inquired about the return policy because based off the previous interaction with her I was sure she was going to try to get out of it or hassle us. Sure enough, she did just that. Her staff again couldn't assist us when we came back so they went to get help, so she came out. The other store had said there was no time limit on returns and as long as the plant wasn't dead we could return it. She came out and said "oh, you're back". Without asking us what we wanted to do she rang it up to give me the discount. I then said "no, I'm just returning them". And her ACTUAL response was "oh, so you are just returning them out of spite then?" WHO TALKS TO PEOPLE LIKE THIS!? She then proceeded to tell me I had under-watered them so she couldn't take them back..they were FINE, they had new growth on them. So I told her I KNEW she was going to do that so I had called the other store and called b.s. on what she said about the return policy. I then said "I have worked in customer service my entire career and I've never dealt with someone as rude as you". I was returning them because SHE made ME bring them back out of spite! Who wants to shop at a place like that? We had an account she could clearly see when we bought them and what we bought. I told her that she lost the sale because of her spite and if she had just been nice she'd have still made money. She then let me know that I was "hurting a small business"and basically she hoped I was okay with that. I responded that SHE was the one hurting her small business by acting the way she was towards a customer. I'll never be back. Just go to Home Depot y'all, it's much less expensive, just as good (same plant companies even) and the people are actually nice and friendly. Plus they price match as any business should (they even give you an additional 10% off if it's from another store)!! read more

Lovely nursery with great facilities, pretty pastoral views, but painfully high prices. Visited on a number of occasions, but always ended up buying elsewhere due to the prices. Just outside the shop is a fenced off area with goats and mini horses, a great place for the kids to hang out while the adults are indulging in their garden planning fantasies. For those with few budget restrictions and an appreciation for good service, this is an excellent nursery. But for people like me who have to budget, shopping for plants elsewhere may be a necessity. read more

Went to the fall festival a few weeks ago and our family had a great time. My toddler really enjoyed it. She fed a goat, rode a cow train & hayride, painted rocks, played in a corn kernel sandbox, jumped on a trampoline and played with a few other toys that were present. Love this place!!! Awesome gift shop and cats roaming the property are cute. They have goats and donkeys which are adorable and may be a good distraction for the kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful and there were so many plants it took us almost an hour to decide what to go home with! Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and if you aren't looking for plants the gift shop is still worth a stop. read more

I used to love this place and got the majority of my annuals and perennials here. However, I went today and was shocked at the change. Pitiful selection and OUTRAGEOUS prices. Seriously, over 6$ for a single annual? No bedding plants or 4 packs or 6 packs of annuals even available, with the exception of some vegetables. I had such sticker shock and left empty handed. I tried for two months to work with a landscaper assigned by the company. She canceled appointments last minute and finally gave me a ridiculous estimate that ignored my needs and contained plants that could not survive the afternoon sun. My Old Town yard is very small and this should not have been so difficult. Total waste of time. read more

The people that work here are absolutely amazing. They are all super nice and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you're doing well. I love Greenstreet. I went for the first time around Christmas to purchase a wreath and some poinsettas which they had a huge selection of both. About a week after I had purchased the wreath it died (which seemed awful quick to me) I took it back and they exchanged it with no issue whatsoever - wonderful to deal with. We also took our daughter here to see Santa for the first time - it was great! No lines, no crowds and an authentic looking Santa! We'll be back again and again! read more

Took my almost 2 year old daughter to their fall festival - what a great time! She was a great age to enjoy a lot of the activities and I loved that everything was included in the admission price (bonus that under 2 are free!) We started with a ride on the cow train and then took the hayride out to the rest of the activities. They have the bouncy pillow set up for sessions for over 42" and under so the littles got to enjoy bouncing without worrying about the big kids bouncing them over. The shorty corn maze and the sandbox filled with dried corn were also big hits. Plenty of picnic tables, but the weekend we were there the Ruritan Club was also grilling up burgers, hot dogs, and BBQ. Bonus that there was a diaper changing station in the restroom in the shop. Super organized, will be back for sure next year. read more

When I wasn't clear on a piece of the work, Josh came back out and walked me through it. The customer service and willingness to adjust based on need was awesome. Readers of my blog http://blarneycrone.wordpress.com will know that most of my salary is spent at Greenstreet. I used to have a strict $100 a month limit, but that's gone out the window. I spent $350 today on hibiscus and elephant ears and fab new pots to plant them in. I added some variegated annuals and a wonderful trailing plant with tiny bright red and purple flowers. Greenstreet is not the cheapest garden center around, but it is better value than Homestead in Davidsonville and more attractive somehow. I love the young staff in their lime green "Don't just stand there, grow something" t-shirts. I went there with my grandson(3) and my sister and her grandchildren(5, 8) during the fall festival. The kids had a blast and the operation of the hayrides and cowrides and festival is first class.The staff is very courteous and knowledgable. So much for the kids to do and explore. I also was able to visit the garden center where there was a lot of quality plants for sale at a reasonable price. Have told my other friends about this place. Great afternoon spot for the kids. Went the first week of October. Hay ride, corn maze, bounce pit, playgrounds, picnic tables, face painting. Fun for my 3 and 1 yr olds. I cannot complain about the product however the serves was horrid. We were cleaning up the house and wanted a hanging basket. We asked this man who acted like it was a huge bother to wait on us. He also acted like he was superior. Little does he realize my husband has a master's degree in entomology and under grad in agriculture. They will not have to worry if I need plants anymore cause I will go to Homestead where the service is good and they treat customers with respect. read more

Went to the Fall Fest. Arrived about 3:30. As we laid out $52 for four people, we we told the festival was open until 5. We watched our time and made sure we were back down to the face painting station at 4:30. It was all packed up! When we mentioned the 5 closing time at that it was only 4:30 the girl said "I don't have anymore water." Seven-year old granddaughter was very upset. The girl doing hair painting very nicely colored my granddaughter's hair. Then they packed up and got on the cow train. It was 4:40. Two little girls and their mom who got off the hay ride behind ours were also upset. Rip off. Won't go back. If you advertise 5 it should be 5. read more

Had a great time at their amazing and well-organized fall festival. Seems like there is something for everyone--even the youngest children. I wasn't sure there would be enough for a child under 2, but my son loved it. We rode the cow train, took the hay ride, walked around in the "shorty" maze, played in a wooden tractor, and a playground full of giant tractor tires. He also enjoyed the face painting and seeing the animals. All year round, I enjoy shopping here for unique gifts and other items. Overall, it is a great place. read more
