I asked JJ how much it would cost to tear out my old driveway and lay new. He said it would be a lot less if we add 2 inches of fresh asphalt over the old. He explained how some of the cracks would transfer though the new layer. But, not crumble apart like what I was currently dealing with. Crack fill and sealcoat every 1 to 2 years. I had him do it the next year. He was right. The 2" layer of asphalt makes my driveway look brand new! Some of the main cracks from the bottom layer came though into the new layer. So, I had them crack fill and sealcoat it the year after it was laid. No weeds or grass showing up in the cracks. 2 years ago I had them add all new asphalt from my driveway to my shop. I am extremely pleased with JJ's.

He came out to give us an estimate the same day, talked through the options with us and explained the work (drainage!), and sent a detailed estimate with costs down to the penny. He scheduled an expert concrete cutter, included interior framing, and moved the dirt to where we needed it. The whole job was done in three days, and it's beautiful, so much light and peace of mind. Also, Ace provides excellent service after sale -- for example, I had bats coming in from the porch area -- Bill and his crew came over and fixed the opening (not actually part of the roof)! Then I had an issue with a gutter that did not drain properly -- they also came over and fixed that -- and installed a new drain spout, as part of their commitment to over all customer experience and satisfaction. Again, technically not part of the roof that they installed, but they fixed it anyways! They are not the cheapest in terms of price -- but you get what you pay for: Ace is a top level company in the field of roofing, even though they don't have big name recognition.
