This time we tried the Chefs corner items which we were all very happy about. The French Dip was a huge portion, very filling. And nice sides choices like salad, fries, or even poutine. The bread was crispy and tender! We also go the chefs corner Crispy Chicken Ramen. Beautiful! The chicken had a little spice on it but if you aren't into spice they could omit that. Broth was nice and not too spicy even for the little kids. Speaking of kids, nice big bathrooms and a change table! Plus high chairs available too. The server was super great when our son wanted to order a burger and fries even though it 'isn't on their menu' still put a kids one together and even cut it and plated it for my two boys. The wings are meaty and seasoned well- a great price especially on Wednesdays: $4 for 8 wings! I rarely have a problem finding a preferred table- I like booths over chairs and low tables over taller ones. Plus, they won Red Deer Wing Fest people's choice award this past summer. The rest of their menu is pretty good too- I'd recommend the Murph's chips both loaded and not loaded. Only real downside is sometimes the karaoke music gets a little loud to have conversations and service is intermittent sometimes, depending on who is your server. All in all, Murph's a great place to go for wings or a drink with friends!

The evening started badly in the poorly laid out parking lot for a handicapped person with the parking stalls at the far end. The only way to get my mobility scooter on the sidewalk was at the entrance. It was raining and as I travelled toward the entrance on the road a pot hole concealed by the rain caused my scooter to overturn and leaving my clothes wet and dirty. Once inside things didn't improve. A stranger at the next table actually asked me "did they forget about you?" as I waited and my wife tried to consume her questionable prime rib which had to be sent back. This place added little to my wife's birthday dinner. After years we are considering choosing a different restaurant for our occasions in the future.

Hubs had a local Snake Lake beer and I had water. For mains we ordered the Inferno Burger (which was so wet that it was fall apart and not something I could really eat) and Rocket Salad with Chicken. I didn't try the burger as mentioned above and Hubs did eat it but said that he would not recommend it. He said it was hard to put his finger on but it definitely did not match it's name and was quite wet with a lot of some sort of burger sauce. The Rocket Salad with Chicken was exactly as described and a nice break from the usual pub fare. Our kiddo had wings and onion rings - they were gobbled up quickly. Overall, I'm giving a 4 star = Good and I would return but not enthusiastically. I think I'd prefer this place as a bar (which it is) but later in the evening when kids aren't allowed for a drink and a round of pool. The food was okay but pricey (as most stuff in Sylvan is). I bet this place is hopping in the summer as it has prime real estate right on the main drag against the lake.

The layout of the restaurant itself looked remarkably like Denny's. It's filled with the same type of booths, but with better decor. The service was also the same kind of classic blue-collar experience you would get at Denny's. Fast and efficient with a no-nonsense attitude. Not that I would ever dream of being disrespectful to a waitress, but to do so here would likely result in a hospital stay - if you're lucky. The menu lacked the diversity you would find at a Smitty's or a Denny's, but the quality of the food was significantly higher. My eggs Benedict was absolutely sublime - some of the best I've ever had. And the prices were pretty competitive as well. While I cannot comment on their lunch or dinner menu, Roundabout Eatery gives a solid breakfast experience that will give you a good start to your day.
