A fun road trip to visit one of Ontario's best Cider Houses (Cidery) with a trip to West Avenue Cider - after spotting one of their artesian Ciders at a local pub. West Avenue offers inexpensive tasting flights with over 10 varieties available to sample today. We also had a chance to enjoy a delicious plate of local cheeses and preserves. The property, which opened just last summer, has a great atmosphere, large tasting bar with super friendly staff, picnic tables to enjoy your tasting outdoors, a bakery, and great cider. Open seven days a week over the late spring and summer, and weekends the remainder of the year makes this a Cidery well worth the drive. Oh and those with four legged friends, they are dog friendly :-) and even had their four legged hostess that was super friendly. The biggest challenge today what to bring home? #craftcider #ontario #gtafood #niagara #tasting #platter #tothewource #foodporn #foodie #food #cider #ontcider #ontariocider

The shop is set up for carry out only at this time and has several coolers and a case full of fresh pasta, and fresh sandwiches for sale. We love coming by for a fancy sandwich on their house made focaccia breads. We love the mortadella and veggie with arugula varieties. You can check their specials on their Instagram https://instagram.com/pasta.mercato There so many delicious things but the star of the show is their homemade fresh pastas you can buy by weight. It's cool to get to see the pasta being made nearby the checkout / ordering counter. We love elevating our homemade dinners with fresh pasta! Between the pasta and sandwiches it's become a weekly staple in our house. They also sell fresh or frozen dinners in a variety of sizes. Everything we've tried has been amazing. It's so easy to pull one out of the freezer on a chilly night. There are so many wonderful cheeses and meats, sauces, sweets and curated grocery goods. We've found amazing olive oils, candies, and other goodies. The lemon slushies were tasty in the summer. We haven't tried the pizza but look forward to it. We love supporting this growing local business. It's convenient and awesome to seeing the pasta for sale at Dundurn Market and get to eat it in special soups at The Burnt Tongue! I love when local businesses collaborate. Yum!!

I am sitting in the parking lot of Goodness Me writing this review…read more This store carries a fair selection of organic foods, including a small produce area and "hot food" take-a-way section. There are teas and herbal medicines, as well as a health and beauty area. For me, the best products they carry are the local de la Terre bakery goods - delicious breads, squares and cookies. I don't come here as often as I used to. The shelves are not always fully stocked and the service is hit-and-miss. Example: Tonight when we stopped in, I was browsing the cosmetics section when someone pushing a large floor-cleaning machine came up behind me and stopped, waiting for me to move. So I moved to the next aisle, only to be followed a few minutes later by the same person, who again stopped directly behind me and waited for me to get out of his way. The machine is pretty noisy, so it was hard to ignore. (Seriously, you are making customers move so that you can clean the floor?) I left the section without buying anything. Then, at the checkout, being charged a nickel for a bag was the icing on the cake. Little things add up. After all, I can go across town to the competition where nobody chases me away with a janitorial machine and the bags are free. Just sayin'.

Went here after the beach one day because we saw a nice looking patio and were looking for…read moresomething healthy to eat. We go up to the glass patio doors and a server tells us from about 10 feet away "Sorry, we have to keep those closed." Really? You can't open them at all to let customers in? We had a small dog with us and asked if we could go through there for him but she said, with door and about 10 feet still between us, "Sorry, no dogs." I should mention the patio was absolutely empty with only the 2 employees sitting around. But not allowing dogs isn't the worst thing in the world. What was is how shockingly unhelpful they were. When we asked for a menu and asked what they had available, she said "Not much" and pointed to a chalkboard near one wall. Like what? The level of customer-service was so bad and everyone in my small group felt so unwelcome that we didn't feel comfortable even staying. And let me tell you, we were starving. But it was clear having actual customers in the empty place was more an inconvenience to them than anything else.
