The staff is absolutely superb. We've never met one without a smile and a kind word. They also have a clean meeting room available for not-for-profit and community organizations to use for free. Our Girl Scout troop utilize it and it's excellent. The staff is very easy to work with and there is always a wide selection of books in great condition. This is definitely our neighborhood library and we love it.

This is an older courthouse and doesn't appear to be updated... appears that they have added on to…read moreit in the back so that they have ample room for the Clerk of Court office... This courthouse is truly a maze and if you walk in the main door which fronts on Iowa Street then be prepared for a maze if you're looking for the Clerk's office and some of the courtrooms... My suggestion to navigate this building a little more easily is to go to Iowa Street then turn on South Magnolia and go to back of courthouse and enter thru a more open entrance that puts you right by the Clerk's office and navigation will be much more manageable... ample parking in the back plus they have a gravel lot you can use plus another gravel lot off of Iowa Street. Haven't had the opportunity to check out the courtrooms themselves but when I do I'll add a postscript PS Coming in the back way, yeah I said it, puts you right by Courtrooms #s 1 & 2. Gotta do the metal detector dance to get into either of these rooms so I figure they're mainly used to handle the criminal element.... to get to Courtroom #3, which I was in recently, you work the rat maze backwards to the front doors.... smallish courtroom but it has aged nicely... the funny thing is the spectator benches look uncomfortable as hell but oddly they are extremely comfy

The courtrooms start on the 3rd floor I believe and go all the way to the 10th floor. Each floor has 4 courtrooms and they are spacious and well appointed. Modern but still have have that austere solemnity that a courtroom should have. Parking is a b*tch and I recommend parking in the parking garage at City Plaza which is like a block and a half from the courthouse because getting in and out is easy-breezy and it is pretty cheap cost wise. Most people do not want to find themselves at a courthouse because that usually means something good is not happening but if, like me, your job takes you here I think you'll be impressed with this place especially if you take my parking tip.

The memorial stands here at the statehouse that he largely drove to completion. It is the tallest capitol building in the nation. And the statue is claimed to be one of the largest of any US politician. It's worth a visit to pay respects to the man, whether you agree with his politics or not. Much of my daughter's toddler life was spent having fun there. Every time I pass it, I have many fond memories of it. It was always very clean and their kitchen was huge too and super helpful when serving food. The stage area was huge and perfect for many different functions. The parking lot was pretty big, too, good for many cars. It's located on the west side area is Baton Rouge and just off the Highway 1. This is probably the smallest I had ever lived in and I remember making the fondest memories and making new and lasting friendships at that community center. This was exactly how I have always wanted a place like this to be used. It serves the best purpose for the people of the town of Addis & surrounding towns.
