The venue is clean, well maintained, and beautifully kept, with plenty of parking and an easy, comfortable flow throughout. Restrooms were easily accessible, and the staircases made for great photo opportunities. Even though the event was held on the second floor, accessibility was effortless thanks to a convenient elevator, making it easy for elderly family members and guests with disabilities to fully enjoy the celebration. Elegant, accommodating, and thoughtfully designed, Floridian Ballrooms truly helped make the night special. I would definitely consider this venue for future events and highly recommend it.

Working with Ceci throughout the whole process was more than a pleasure. She was always there to answer my one million questions and requests. When she wasn't available, Leti would step in with the same amount of grace and due diligence. Quite frankly with all of this being over I have to say that I miss them! The day of the event everything went so smoothly. Nestor, the event manager, made us feel we were the VIP's of the whole world. The vendors they use are also amazing. Hector Gomez the photographer did an amazing job, from the pre-shoot to the day of. Frank the MC was great, and our DJ Brianna was the sweetest and on top of her game, you would be so lucky to get her as the DJ. The photo booth was also very professional and called me ahead of time to find out our theme (Broadway) so that they could apply a background to the prints accordingly. When I tell you everything went without a single hiccup which is normal at any event, yet it didn't at all. I can't imagine ever inquiring about any other venue for any other event we may have in the future. Floridian Ballrooms will always be our choice moving forward!

Like many women's clubs in Florida, the Hollywood Women's Club was founded in 1922 during the Florida Land Boom years. In the 1920's women's clubs were formed to give back to the community. They became a way for women to get out of the house and assert their independence. They allowed women to get involved in politics and launched the women's rights movement. The Hollywood Women's Club predated the founding of the city and in 1924 they joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The first club members were the wives of officers in the J.W. Young Organization which was the development company building Hollywood. They met in the first clubhouse that was built on land donated by the founder of Hollywood, Joseph W. Young in 1927. Early club projects included donating hundreds of books to the first public library, holding tag sales to pay for health screenings for children, giving migrating farmers assistance with housing and welfare, getting the Miami Telephone Co. to bring the first telephone line to town, and collecting $12,000 during a war bonds drive. Today the club supports literacy programs, funds a youth scholarship, participates in the Hollywood Historical Society, supports the neighborhood crime watch, and provides financial aid to many state charities through the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The original plans for the clubhouse included an ornate Mediterranean Revival style. After the collapse of the land boom due to the Great Depression and several hurricanes the design was scaled back to a more affordable $25,000 Classical Revival style building in 1927. The building was listed as a a local historical landmark in 1985, and added to the National Register of Historic Place in 1995. Between 2012 and 2014 money was raised by the club and added to a grant to prevent the clubhouse from sinking into the sand. Other cosmetic work was also completed on this charming historical building. In 2022 the Hollywood Women's Club celebrated their 100th anniversary. During this time further electrical improvements and upgrades to the kitchen were made. Today the clubhouse is available to be rented for private events. The 1,200 square foot main event room has hardwood floors and a grand piano and can accommodate 60 people. There is also a catering kitchen. Information on how to rent the clubhouse and join and volunteer with this important civic organization can be found on the club website. If there are any upcoming events you can find that information as well. For instance they hold 2 round bingo nights for $10. The next bingo night is May 30th and they serve inexpensive drinks including alcohol and snacks. For over 100 years the women of Hollywood have been coming together to improve their local community as well as the state of Florida. Women's clubs have a legacy of helping their communities and it's nice to see that this one is still going strong today.

From the initial inquiry call 6 weeks out to the event day the staff was immediately responsive, informative, kind and knowledgeable. The restored Women's Club is run by a staff of loving, dedicated volunteers. Every question that I had as our plans developed were addressed with amazing speed. The venue has been beautifully restored and we were honored to have our celebration here. Would not hesitate to recommend the Hollywood Women's Club venue. But there's really nothing much to really see here except for 3 rooms of exhibits on the entire property, ...and I think it's ridiculous that they're even charging the public for any of this at all. The pioneer houses behind the school are still completely closed from any public access from what ...I've noticed based on other reviews and from what I actually saw with my own eyes. It's been YEARS. That too was certainly a let down. There was nothing more to see in the abandoned ...library downstairs or even upstairs in the wedding area. So creepy! I could only access three tiny rooms filled with rich history in writing and pictures along the walls and some artifacts. The classroom was my best experience. I found it extremely interesting to have seen the pictures ...of so many children that came to this school from the 1920s until the 80s! And they even had some of the original desks against the wall by the windows ...inside of the classroom, whereas the main ones in the middle were all donations. So basically I paid $3 admission with their food stamps discount to view all 3 of their tiny rooms; $1 per room hahaha! There's not much to see here, so I'm just warning you guys. They also ONLY allow field trip kids to tour the school in the mornings and then they close ...very early by 3 which made me have to make a second trip here on another day. The parking lot was completely empty with the exception of an elderly couple that pulled up ...as one of the employees escorted me to view the school building. Aside from all of this, everything that WAS on display was fairly enjoyable.

I came in with kid class for a field trip and all the host were very sweet a patient. The kids first activity was to learn on why and who decided to turn the Everglades into farms and why the canals were created. Then the kids made butter with heavy whipping cream and we got to try it with crackers. Next stop was an old school classroom where they were tough how to use a quail pen with ink. They got to write or draw on a paper with the pen and ink. They went 2 other rooms That they shared some history about the farmers and stores. After that they got water from a well. And then finally they washed clothes by hand. Overall it was pretty interesting.

We recently went with our family to see The Second City touring company at the Aventura Arts &…read moreCultural Center in February 2024 and it was our first time in the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center and we're so happy we have this in our backdoor. We arrived about 15 minutes before show time and parked in one of the nearby Aventura city parking lots (complimentary parking), or you can opt for valet parking at a fee. I would personally walk each time because you typically don't walk more than 500 feet or so to get to the building. When you arrive, you go through a light security check point and walk into the venue. They have concessions with a full bar and light snacks. Mixed drinks and wine are $12 for a single or $18 for a double. They have a few spots to walk in and check your tickets and the ushers take you right to your seat. There's not a bad seat in the house (we were two rows from the back of the theater and loved our seats- see photo). If you see a show you want to attend, go for it! It's a great theater, with amazing staff!
