    #000 is a thing

[I think her name was Julia.] I came to this barber college for a simple cut and when I came in, she was insulting from the start and not welcoming. All I asked for was a simple haircut and not to be mocked. Her conversational skills could've been better. Overall she wasn't a decent person and she represents your business. The same goes for the other girl pictured below who did the same mocking actions as Julia did. I don't know her name because she never introduced herself. P.S. there's something labeled #000 in the picture below, so it's a thing. EDIT: Now someone, by the name of "Jennifer N.", messaged me the following day, who I assume is the other girl or it could be someone else. If it's someone else, not related to the college, then ignore it. I'm just putting two and two together and assuming it's her. It seems to be my word against theirs which doesn't solve much.

    Stylish perfect haircut, as always!

Once again West Coast Barber College has saved the day! I used to bring my son here but he would cry so much I started cutting his hair myself. My husband gets his hair cut at a California Cuts near his work and they always do a terrible job so I started cutting his hair too (I also did a terrible job but at least it was free). When I scheduled our family photos I was insistent that everyone have a perfect haircut. I sent my husband and son to a local barber who did a good job previously. When they went though the daughter of the barber who had recently gotten her barber license cut their hair. Needless to say, it looked terrible. So I gave them a week to recover and sent them to another barber college in San Marcos (we live in Escondido). I had assumed they would get a perfect haircut like we've always gotten at West Coast Barber College. Sadly, I was mistaken. With only one chance left (their hair was already pretty short) I knew we had to go to West Coast Barber College. So we took a 40 minute drive to get there with our whole family and it was definitely worth it! These guys are the best there is! Perfect haircuts! The salon was clean and everything went smoothly. There was not one issue and they handled all the COVID rules perfectly. Thanks guys! I'm so thankful for all your hard work and amazing skills. I wish every barber went to this school because there are so many not-so-good barbers out there. I completely understand that practice is needed but it's a hard thing when you need a perfect haircut...

Went to this school because I just needed a quick cut. I wasn't expecting much for an 8$ student cut but... legit got the best haircut I've ever had. This guy sterling cut my hair and went above and beyond. Exactly what I wanted. Straight razor on the neck. Beard shape and trim. Hot towel. Legit the best cut I've ever had. The guy was chill enough to give me his contact after so I can request him every time. West coast barber shop is the movie the notebook. Sterling is the dude. I'm Rachael macadams. The dock seen where they make out is the haircut.

I love the atmosphere and the fact that all the students work together and help each other and the teachers are hands on! Been coming here for a couple years. Todays cuts were Sterling and Kirk. Thank you guys so much for taking care of my boys!

From entrance, greeted by enthusiastic barbers that understood what we're looking for. Given an unbeatable price to provide learning to those in pursuit of a trait that will give a man/woman a fishing pole instead of a fish. This barbershop owned and operated by a local is worth the haircut, price and time. Clean, friendly, great for groups. Wait is minimal, if at all. Thank you, @WESTCOASTBARBERCOLLEGE‼

Ask the Community - West Coast Barber College

    How much is the course?

The whole program for barbering (not the crossover program for cosmos) was $14,500 (you are given 6 days of absence before they begin to charge extra; so participation is key to saving money!) and I believe the price is the same, currently.

    Cost for a standard haircut?

    $8 for standard haircut

Do you have to make an appointment?

    No. Walk-ins are welcome!

The color was off , hair damaged, didnt even look like a balayage & bad service. The student was also supposed to graduate in a month (Gabriela) and was completely not ready. At the end mentioned she didn't even have time for a blowout, almost expected me to walk out with wet hair. The teacher ((ALEXIS , picture above)) still expected and forcefully made me pay before even offering to fix the mistake and threatened to call police if i didn't. Once they offered to fix it , the solution they came up with didnt seem reasonable I knew it wouldnt be fixed correctly. She didn't really care about the issue but cared more about the school losing money. The teacher even mentioned continuing to schedule for more redos until it came out right which didnt sound correct she should know how to fix it the first time not do multiple redos. I posted my inspo pic and what they actually did. Next day I went to multiple salons to confirm weather what the teacher suggested to do as a redo to fix my hair was correct and was told at all salons that it was not the solution. Wrong products and procedures were put on my hair. I had to pay much more to get it fixed at another salon & had to pay for hair treatment due to the damage they caused. No one has this much time to waste for such disappointment and useless teachers and students. First and last time coming here ! I dont recommend.

I just had a facial by Chad. The guy was fantastic. A wonder facial with a nice massage.read more

This review would have been 5 stars if not for my initial experience…read more for the school for Andrew I drove from Los Angeles for a 4:30 PM appointment and arrived early. Unfortunately, my original barber did not show up until around 4:50 PM. When I politely asked what happened, his response came across as dismissive and unprofessional rather than acknowledging the delay. After driving all the way from LA and waiting well past my appointment time, that was disappointing. That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to Uriyah (I may be misspelling his name). When I explained the situation and requested a different barber, he handled everything professionally, respectfully, and without hesitation. The school was extremely busy, but he listened and found a solution. I was reassigned to Andrew, and Andrew was absolutely 5 stars. He was friendly, professional, attentive, and gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. We had great conversations throughout the appointment, he made me feel comfortable, and he was incredibly kind to my dog as well. His attention to detail, positive attitude, and genuine care for his craft completely turned the experience around. So while I'm giving the school 4 stars because of the initial appointment experience, Andrew personally earned 5 stars from me. He completely salvaged the visit, and I'd happily book with him again. Thank you to Andrew and Uriyah for turning a frustrating start into a great experience.

Thank god it is summer break and she doesn't have school because they botched her hair..... they cut her hair basically just under her ears! Which I'm very confused about because they have the instructors start the cut and the just follow it. So how did this happen..? Tried to give it a chance but definitely won't do that again.

So I went to Aubrey at s c c b b and it was the best experience I've had in a long time. I have very long curly hair that I like straight. So she had to blow dry my hair, flat iron it, and shampoo it! Everyone there was so nice, smiling, and so accommodating! I'm probably going to have my cast on for 6 to 8 weeks. So I will be coming here weekly to get my hair washed, blow dried, and straightened. The price was amazing as well! So if you are ever in a pinch like me with a broken arm, go to SCCBB! WORST SCHOOL EXPERIENCE EVER…read more This school was an absolute nightmare. They clearly only care about taking your money and give NOTHING in return. In a 6-month program, we went through four teachers, and then had an entire month with NO teacher at all. We were literally left to figure things out ourselves. There was ZERO real hands-on training, and I graduated with no basic skills in brows, lashes, or facials. How is that even acceptable? The place was filthy. There was mold, the sink water came out WHITE, and we were still expected to use it on clients' faces. Laundry from barbers and estheticians was mixed together, and I saw towels with hair being reused. It was disgusting, unprofessional, and dangerous. We complained, and they did NOTHING. This school is a complete failure in every way -- education, hygiene, professionalism, and safety. If you value your time, money, and future, DO NOT enroll here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Ever.

Ok. This school deserves a 5 star review. This school from day one has been amazing, so supportive, enthusiastic, and I had the greatest experience from the teachers including Ms lynda - Every girl that I've ever come across in this class has been impeccable, amazing, outstanding words cannot say enough of how deserving the school is each and every girl from day one!!! The school from day one prepares you gives you all the knowledge and teachings you will ever need for an aesthetician they give you bookwork, they give you test, hands on training can you even get to work on clients and they can book appointments with you Tuesday through Friday at 5:30 and 730 appointment times they teach you everything from waxing to using high frequency microdermabrasion, and chemical peel with enzyme peel's you name it they will teach you everything. Miss Felicia was 100% correct when she said the esthe girls have a bond like not other. I've walked out with friend for a life time, and a school experience I'll never forget. Not to mention when we all graduate individually we get a potluck and the tunnel!! With all the barbers and esthe girls in support of our success. Thank you thank you for giving me a career I absolutely love.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!!…read more Wish I could give it 0 stars! Can't believe this POS is still even open! I attended the Esthetics course for this school from 2003-2004. I (like so many other students, more then half!) found it almost impossible to finish on time because the school was so boring. It took me a year but I managed to finish those boring hours eventually! I wasn't aware that Paul Mitchell existed until after I had signed up here but 16 years later am STILL sorry I didn't transfer there instead despite the fact that it was 3 times more expensive. Well worth it if you ask me! We NEVER had any "clients" to work on so we always had to practice on each other which was terrible because we didn't get enough real experience. My teacher was a very nice woman (the only nice thing I can say about this school! I did like my teacher ok!) and she noticed I was struggling and the school made the offer that I could go to night school if I needed to to get my hours that way. That made it worse! The teacher was only there from 9-5 everyday so I wasn't even being supervised after 5 pm except by the cosmetology teacher who spent her time telling me about her special diet. I pretty much paid them to sit after hours in an empty classroom and they actually let me!! All of this isn't even why I HATE this school though! My real motivation is the fact that right after I graduated I had a baby and became a stay at home mom, so I didn't go for my license but obviously still planned to. About 7 years went by and I couldn't find my proof of hours because they were repossessed in my storage unit so I contacted the school about a new copy of my proof of hours. The snotty woman on the phone informed me that "they are legally required to only hold onto those records for up to five years and it had been seven, but since it had been so long I should probably go back to school anyways since I probably don't remember anything anyways". First of all, this is NOT rocket science and I have a photographic memory so I actually remember 3/4 of what I learned despite the fact that it has been 16 years now! I recently reached out to the state board because I apparently forgot to finish paying the last quarter of my student loan off (darn) and have been denied financial aid to community college today because of it. While I was checking that info on the government website it showed that I attended the school from 2003-2004 and in fact graduated, but naturally that is NOT enough proof for me to take my test! The only proof I can use is from the school, who apparently wiped their asses with it years ago. Thanks guys! Btw, I paid a little over $2000 back in 2003, today they charge $10,000! I would rather stab myself in the eye then pay another school like this that much money to "retake my hours" Hope this helps! Please do check out the reviews that are "not recommended at this time" as well. There are 18 of them and half of them are bad! Sneaky sneaky!!
