Our rep was GREAT! He spent a lot of time with us choosing the right RV shed. UNFORTUNATELY - the ball was passed - the result, disappointing. After a 5 month wait, we hoped to change the install date (health) BUT was told how much extra - theidelivery process was NOT adhered to - the crew took it upon themselves to install where THEY believed was the "spot". It was NOT. Could not be moved as they had drilled into a concrete wall. The ONLY change we asked for was a small addition (4ft) since they made the error - HOWEVER...PHANTOM management staff reviewed issues and of course deny any wrongdoing. The bad, they require you to agree to pay their attorneys fees before they will sell you the product. Looking at all the reviews here and elsewhere that is just too much risk, although honestly, for the cost of the building, attorneys work be more expensive. It's just the idea they have no incentive to correct mistakes. they made a lot of (verbal) promises on the phone, but that has no enforceable meaning. The good, they built a 30 x 40 for our neighbor and they were happy with it in Washington and were able to get building permits from the $5000 engineering drawings. $30,000 for the just the metal was high compared to others, but they installed and seemed to do a good job. The buyer has to get the permits, hire contractors for concrete work and rain drainage work separately. Working with the company directly was reasonable, and the folks were nice and responded to questions within a couple of days. We first tried working with their local sales rep and that was not a good experience. our friends who had their building built said to bypass the local person and good direct and that was good advice. read more

BAD quality, VERY BAD customer service! 1 star cuz it doesn't go negative I was very specific when I bought my building that it needed to be rated for 100mph in Enumclaw Wa. I was assured it was, but that wasn't the case. In July I contacted the company about screws falling out of the building. Improperly installed at an angle so they backed right out. First, I was basically told buzz off and read my contract because it's a one-month warranty. After moving up the chain of command to the sales manager I was told in send pics. I even suggested I purchase extra braces to solidify the building. After receiving the pics, the woman told me she was taken it to the board and would get back to me in a week. crickets read more

They offer only a flimsy, odd-sized RV-style walk-in door. This, I learned too late. The metal garage they made for me was based on photos of a metal garage called the Sabbath Garage, built by Big Buildings Direct in Florida. The garage itself is all right, though the roof occasionally leaks, but the walk-in door I was quoted was a standard 36"x80" size. What they delivered was closer to 40"x76" and is constructed like the doors on a trailer or RV. The construction crew showed up on time and set right to work. They completed the project late at night on the same day. When I returned the following morning and discovered the non-standard size and flimsy construction of the walk-in door, it was too late. Thieves were able to knock the doorknob out. So it's useless. When I contacted the company to ask about buying a sturdier walk-in door to replace it, they informed me that the flimsy RV-style door is the only one they offer. Very disappointed. read more

Phone calls and emails not returned, promises made and not kept. Ultimately, we have decided to scrap the building and go to a new vendor, with a better reputation to have another carport built. This is a shady company that operates by scamming buyers who upgrade their builds by purchasing the thicker and stronger 12 gauge galvanized steel tubings rather than using the standard 14 gauge galvanized steel tubings. West Coast Metal Buildings is betting that the average customer will not notice the difference between what a 14 gauge tubing looks like when compared to the thicker 12 gauge tubing. Both my next door neighbor and I ordered our carports weeks apart from each other and had our builds done two months later on different days. Both of us had upgraded and paid for our carports to use the thicker and stronger 12 gauge galvanized metal tubings and both of our builds came to us only using the standard 14 gauge galvanized steel tubings. There's no way that a company that's been in business for 23 plus years gets two orders mixed up by using the wrong materials just days apart from each other. And if by chance a customer does call out to West Coast Metal Buildings about the wrong gauge tubings all they have to do is claim that there was a simple mix up in their order. This would be such a simple class action lawsuit against this company if a law firm could ever get interested in it, but I'm guessing the payout wouldn't be big enough for them to bite. Anyways, trust all the negative reviews you read about this company and believe in them. Also read all the negative reviews about this company on the Better Business Bureau website. The price is the best compared to any other manufacturer in my area. My rep was super informative, and the scheduling process was detailed. When the crew came out to install, it was completed in under 4 hours. I highly recommend this business if you're looking for a more cost-effective but still high-quality alternative to a pole barn, which costs 3 times more! I was scheduled for my carport install for yesterday, but as luck would have it, they got delayed by a previous job. William called and apologized and asked if today around 10am would work for me. Sure, no problem. Then I start looking at the reviews and see some bad, some good, but most of the bad reviews seem old. Now I hope I made the right choice. I have been a contractor myself, as well as a construction supervisor so I understand that sometimes stuff happens and delays happen, just unavoidable at times. Well, they showed up early this morning as the company put them up in a hotel in town for the night. So far these guys have been very respectful and polite, and they are organized. They laid out all the parts and pieces like a giant jigsaw puzzle and are working like a good team. I'm very pleased to see how they are being meticulous with their measurements, measure twice, cut once, even running string around the construct to check level and squaring. The completed carport is very stable and strong. The work was done professionally and shows no mistakes or miscalculations in the finished product. All I need to do now is bring in a little more 3/4- gravel for the edges but that is just cosmetic. A job well done! If I need another construct, I won't hesitate to call them back. read more

I think of all the companies, West Coast Metal Buildings is always the fastest to respond, easiest to place an order with, and easiest to work with during the initial ordering. They have always kept within the timeline given on estimated completion. Deliveries are always scheduled the week prior or a few weeks prior, the only issues I have ever had, one time the wrong color Roofing was brought, I was given the opportunity to have that Roofing replaced with the correct roofing, or in my case be given a discount to take the roofing that was brought which I chose to do. On the second delivery that I had, I ordered an unorthodox standard frame carport with an a frame roof, the construction people that would put the unit together made the mistake of not pulling the correct roof. The situation was dealt with fairly quickly, I feel like it could have been a faster redelivery of items forgotten, I was not a fan of having to wait an additional 2 weeks, but by the time the units were placed, I couldn't be happier. I would use them again, I am currently using them again, and I will use them in the future. read more

I ordered a 18x25 horizontal shop in November they came out February 7th to install this at my rental. The tenant send pictures that night and it did not look completed. I went by the next day and they had left raw metal edges on all four corners and this left holes for criters to have access in the shop. I do realize they are not a seal tight building but really. They came back out telling me this is the way it is. This is what you get. After calling a manager Jesica I told her this was dangerous Sharpe edges she told me it was like a pool I had to secure it. Then they were going to put a 90 degree corner casting on it that would only cover part of it because there was a 5 to 6 inch hang over on all 4 side. Long story short I finished it by cutting the wings off and putting the corner pieces on right it took my about 2.5 hours. Have called talked to another manager she told me this is what I get they could of put a L trim but don't see how that was going to work. If I could give zero stars I would... I ordered a custom carport cover to go over my RV. It took them 6 months to deliver/install. They did not install it per our plan. We clearly stated 12" - 18" of clearance from all sides of the RV to the carport structure. The bumper end has zero clearance, tongue end has over 28". No explanation why they did this, but because the tongue end sticks out too far they demo'd part of my retaining wall without permission or even notification. There are 3 structural support sections where the cover was engineered to be built around an existing deck that the structural supports were not installed correctly and now the carport is unstable. And the icing on the cake... they built the structure too close to the sides of the RV (5" - 7") so none of the access hatch doors will open and all service connections (propane tanks, water hook up, sewer dump lines, water heater, furnace) are all inaccessible. Blocking propane tanks is an NFPA code violation. I've been following up for 6 months asking them to just come out and LOOK at the issues so we can discuss resolution. They told me they don't think any of this is a problem and they are not responsible. read more

West Coast Metal Buildings required me to pay 50% down to get the engineered drawings needed for my permit submission and said that I would get a refund if unable to get a permit. I bought a standard model (12x12x25) of which they certainly have sold before to people in Washington State and the PNW. I was unable to get a permit due to code constraints and they kept nearly $1,250 of the $3250 down payment! They said this was to cover the cost of the 'engineered drawings' required for my permit which they wouldn't provide unless I aid the $3250 up front. It is unbelievable to me that they are still in business. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. If it was possible to give negative stars I would. The customer service and the quality of work are not up to industry standard. The company employees will just give you lip service and will not address the true problems and they have not problem damaging the customers propert. The crew will shop up when reversing they fill like on one instance they showed up at 830pm at night, they will not follow directions to enter your property and remove your gates from the hinges to gain access and not put back on the hinge. They will up charge you for building over an RV and tell you that they will not walk on the roof or use the RV ladder but again that is not true. They will up sale and tell you your legs are to short when that clearly isn the case yes the longer legs make for an easier install, but life isn't always easy. They will leave trash and screws all over, they will use your building materials without asking ie:2x4s and plywood. SO STOP SCREWING YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!! read more

Stay away or risk being very sorry. After 2 1/2 years and the first wind over 40 mph the large carport flew and broke apart. We added six deep anchors at locations recommended by the installer. Nevertheless all 22 of the very cheaply made upper braces snapped off. They were made out of about the thinnest sheet metal available. The sheet metal screws pulled out in many and in the others the sheet metal just tore. Once they all broke, the carport started swinging from side to side until one side lifted five feet out of the ground and it was flying like in the Wizard of Oz. Calls to the manufacturer were useless. The best they would do was to offer to sell me new parts and I had to pay for the delivery. This company and its products are worthless. I give a rating of "one" because a zero isn't available. read more

WARNING: Pay attention when you go into their office to order a metal building. I pointed to a display building in their parking lot and told them I wanted exactly that building and gave them a specific color. I didn't receive either of these things. Not even close. I requested to talk to the manager on several different occasions and the secretary would just tell me that I should have read my paperwork. I've been in construction for 40+ yrs and their terminology was completely opposite of building standard terminology. Having to pay the total before constructing the building, they were unwilling to even discuss the issues I had and address my complaints. CAUTION : They will look you in the eye and LIE! Be careful. 9/22, We used CoverYourToys who was at the Puyallup RV Show for a 40X14X14 RV cover. That sales rep sells the building and then this company (West Coast Metal Buildings) does everything else. Our experience with Randy at CoverYourToys was great. Not so much with this company. It was a long lead time which was OK with us. We purchased it on Sept 22nd paying 13% down to CoverYourToys. 12/4, We then first heard from West Coast Metal Buildings on December 4th where they confirmed the order but needed to add two more brackets (which I was totally ok with) and we paid another $2341.37. If you use a credit card they charged an additional 3%. This was not told told to us at the beggining but I went ahead and did it anyway. 12/14, West Coast Metal Buildings called with a final install date of 12/27 afternoon and finish on 12/28. Then the representative Rosa had previously texted me stating what the final bill would be so at that time I asked if I could get an updated invoice showing the breakdown of the two additional brackets and fee. What she texted me was owing $3693.85, and I'm still waiting for that breakdown. 12/28, Installation day came. They were to arrive on the 27th in the afternoon but showed up right at dark around 4PM. They left their trailer with all the material and said they would be back in the morning which was fine. The three person crew showed up at 8AM and got it all put together by 1:30. It was a miserable cold and wet day, I felt bad for them. So when one asked if I could spare bottle water I had no problem giving them 6, but thought that was coming to the job a little unprepared. Only two issues I had with the installers were that they knocked over stacked blocks near the work area and also ran over a section of already placed blocks at the end of the driveway and didn't mention it to me or attemot to pickup or fix what they damaged. Not impressed with that! 12/30, They charged my credit card without a phone call or text message for $3804.66. (Not what I was told prior which was $3693.85). I still don't have the breakdown/updated invouce and wasn't given the opportunity to avoid the 3% fee by mailing them a check. So in conclusion. Customer Service, aweful!!! Installers, OK. read more

Well!! We were on our way back from the beach and decided to stop in to talk about getting a RV storage building. Upon walking in, Immediately the receptionist asked us to move our RV, as somebody may want to pull out and they couldn't get by. There is plenty of room for a car to exit beside our RV. She seemed more worried about the employees being able to leave for lunch then she did about us, wanting to potentially purchase an RV storage building. We started to talk with her about potentially getting a quote and ask if there is someone there that can help us with our size etc.. All she did was give us excuses about that wouldn't work she needed us to measure blah blah blah blah blah. She was the most unhelpful receptionist I have ever encountered. She needs to go to a school for customerservice or be fired!! They just lost a customer. We placed our order 10.30.2015 with a guaranteed install date within 30 days. We paid a $90 deposit. We called 11.15.15 and was told that they couldn't deliver and build (which was included in the price) until 1.8.16 and it would be another $200 to build because of the existing structures. This was purchased our chickens. We told them that our chickens would be in danger by then but that didn't matter to them. Since they didn't deliver by 11.30.15 as promised it snowed 12.23.15 a lot. This company is about the only game in town for RV sized carports. Product is as advertised but the customer service is a C minus. If you end up talking to Hailey please consider asking for another sales rep. She showed little interest in finding out what my need was, I had to do all of the work and I felt I was bothering her to ask questions. Ideally she could of asked "what are you using the shed for? I'd suggest you consider doing this as many people find...." My install was in a locked yard in a 55 and older community. In the day of install I was ready at 8. I finally called in the afternoon and was told they were on their way. They finally showed up around 4 pm, worked for about 2 hours and were gassed from the extreme heat. They said they'd come back on Sunday at 6am so I had our 85 year old yard manager get up early to open gates at 5:45 am. No show until after 9:30 am and then were short materials and had to run over a hundred feet of electrical cord as they forgot their generator. The workers were very fastidious about building being level and plumb. It's been almost two weeks from the initial start of this project and still have not finished. I just called and Hailey's mailbox is "full",spoke to someone else who said she'd get back to me. If you go with this company realize they are not up to general business standards of communication but you eventually get a decent building. read more

Going on 4 months of trying to get a perfect steel building... Paid over 12,000 and paid in full before they were finished.... One garage door was installed but damaged..I decided I could live with it for a credit back...then the other garage door finally got installed at a time I wasn't there... lol I came back to 3" height difference between doors, one springs up and one has no tension at all. Many photos later they have gone quiet. Two weeks of no contact or phone call returns, Doors are still uneven and I'm stuck with deciding if I can live with this or hire an attorney! This review is solely related to customer service. The building I purchased 20'x50' fully enclosed is very nice, and is of the quality I expected. Regarding customer service, it near impossible to communicate with anyone there! When they were installing my building, they needed to use a large forklift, the crew mistakenly drove the lift off the edge of my driveway and ended up doing $1,700 in damage to my concrete. The crew admitted right away they were at fault, and assured me the company had insurance to cover the damage. After almost two months of trying to work with their office team and manager, they have told me "I didn't tell them not to drive on the concrete, and will not be opening a claim". I didn't think I needed to tell them to keep the forklift on the concrete! There were other customer service related issues as well, including the need to purchase engineered drawings for my permit, not the companies issue, but the cost was outrageous, and then after the building was installed, the inspector kindly pointed out that the building was not built as the drawings specified. The company tried to fix the issues, but ultimately I had to hire a contractor to get it through inspection. In any regard, I suspect if you are lucky enough not to have any issues, everything will be fine, and you will be satisfied, but if you do have issues, good luck! read more

I had west coast metal building inc come to a rental of mine and install a 18 x 25 garage. It was orderes in November and showed up February 7th. It had a horizontal roof. When they said it was finished the tenant came out asking about the corners not looking completed. They told him it was. I went by there the next day and they had left raw Conners very sharp and jagged edges. When I called they said this is it. I asked were the corner casting finished work was. Their response was. This is it. I then called a supervisor (Jesica) after explaining the raw none finished edges she told me it was like a pool you would have to secure it. She also said it had to do with the pitch of the roof the side didn't even touch the roof. It does have over half on the front eves and rear which I understand for water but non the side. I did talk to Chantel another supervisor she was the same all my problem not theirs. I give lots of recommendations over at my cabin in Ronald I will not and would not ever recommend West Coast Metal Building Inc again please see picture. We had a 30x45 carport installed and the installers installed the bottom rails curved up to 4 inches to the back wall leaving a 4 in gap. We called while the installers were still in our area saying this was not acceptable but they would not have them come to fix it. With much back and forth including pictures with a level West Coast would still not come fix it. Very disappointed in their service as it is not right. We had no recourse as they already had our money. Very dissatisfied with their delivery and service. Would not recommend. read more

On June 23 I purchased a metal building, for roughly 17k At The time I was told it would take approximately 1 to 2 weeks to be put on the schedule and once on the schedule it would take another 4 to 6 weeks for construction. I just called because it's been two weeks and I have heard nothing from the company, the lady that answers the phone was extremely indifferent I asked when my scheduled date was and she replied she did not know. She did not care to find out. She had absolutely zero answers. I got the feeling from her attitude that this company does not care about customer service in the least bit. I am a Real Estate Agent in Washington State my main duty is to protect my clients. Its an oath/vow that the state of Washington REQUIRES me to maintain with my clients even beyond the sale. I referred West Coast Metal buildings to a senior client of mine in January of 2021. I worked this this client for over a year trying to find her perfect piece of property on the beach so she could build her home to stay in after her retirement. I referred a sales rep of West Coast Buildings to her in January and she ordered herself a new 24x25 metal carport from them to be installed in 10-12 weeks. Somewhere between her order date and when they called to set up deliver West Coast Metal Buildings built the WRONG sized carport. They built a 12x20 instead of her ordered 24x25 My client needed the extra width because there are two cars in her household. And the 12 foot wide carport wasn't big enough to fit both. When West Coast Metal Buildings delivery department person (Jackie) called my client to schedule delivery of the WRONG SIZED 12x20 carport my client noted to JACKIE that that was the incorrect size. Jackie explained to my client that was the size that was built for her and if she refused to accept delivery there would be a 25% restocking fee to put the 12x20 back in their warehouse. And that they had "recently increased their pricing structure by 20%" so to deliver the correct 24x25 it would cost my client even more. My client felt forced to accept the 12x20 carport and RELUCTANTLY agreed to continue with the purchase. That's where I came in. I was in the neighborhood of my clients new home and decided to pop by and say hi and see how she was settling into her new retirement digs when I asked why the carport hadn't been installed yet. She explained the above story to me and I was appalled at how my senior client had been forced into purchasing this carport that doesn't suit her needs. Consistent with my duties as a REALTOR to protect my client from this very thing. I called West Coast Metal Buildings and spoke with a lovely call center person named Aria (sp?) and explained the situation to her in an attempt to settle this amicably. Aria stated that the shipping person was out to lunch and that she would have her call ME back shortly. So I left my name and number with them expecting a call at any time. A few minutes later my client received a call from Jackie at West Coast Metal Buildings. I asked her to put it on speaker phone because Jackie was supposed to call me not her. When my client answered Jackie immediately started scolding my senior client because my client had agreed to accept the 12x20 carport and it was already loaded on their truck and ready to ship out. Then I interjected...... Jackie wouldn't allow me to talk at all. Eventually hung up on me. So I called back to talk to Jackie's boss about how my client was being treated. During my attempt to call, Jackie, then called back and wanted to speak with my client only. Not the individual that was 'yelling' at her. I am a veteran that suffers from severe hearing damage from listening to 5 inch cannons on my ship sound off regularly during my enlistment. I talk loud. But, because I damaged her fragile constitution and hurt her tender feelings I do apologize. But I will not stand by and let her scold my client for refusing delivery of an incorrect product she ordered that West Coast Metal Buildings incorrectly built. After all was said and done at the end of an excruciating 3 hour process, I paid my clients 25% restocking fee for the carport, a total of $504. Just to get these people out of her life for good. Purchased a home in WA state that had just installed a 25/25 garage by these folks. It has a gravel floor and I wanted to pull off the top 4" to have it paved. We need roll top doors to be removed to get this done. I called their "customer support" to inquire about going about it as in looking at the doors, they are not apparent on how to remove them and raise them. In any case, the young lady who answered the phone said she could not help me. I asked for assistance and she went through the motions of getting someone else and again came back with we cannot help you. It is a simple question who anyone who knows their product could easily answer but she couldn't be bothered. That and her "customers are annoying" attitude was astounding. Speechless! The steel sidding is flimsy, I am convince the roof will not hold a snow load in the NW. Who in their right mind would approve of this in WA State I'll never know. The wife (who is 5.0" and petite) broke the cheap door knob off the man door (how in the heck to do you break a door knob off by turning it???). I replaced it thinking it was a fluke, but now I know better. Chap parts. Their customer service sucks. You can do much better in another brand. Buyer BEWARE!!! I am a mild person who does not complain much but the lady who I spoke to and her smug attitude prompted me to join yelp and post this. Every time I deal with this company they get harder and harder to deal with, they are extremely rigid and not customer friendly. They put you last every time. They threw things up, sloppy, left a mess of screws all over, it leaked, scratches and left tape on metal. They want cash or cashiers checks only. Lead times are very long. They left the hold down stakes half in, in many places, they do not do any extra, only what they have too. They wont re schedule or work with you, poor customer service, unreasonable at times. So, it has been 4 months and nothing has been installed yet. I read all the complaints from other customers, and that is exactly what I am experiencing. I just got another call that they cannot install as another job in my state was not ready yet, so they have to postpone me. Why is it my problem if another customer is not ready? I live in Idaho, they will only schedule me if they have other jobs to do in my state. So I am paying the price because of other customers? One more excuse and I will be refusing to work with this company and will cancel my order. I will be following up at the end of the month to see if there current timeline for me works out. read more

BEWARE! They don't tell customers that they do not include the engineering and plans for their prefabricated metal buildings. IF the structure you purchase requires a building permit from the local jurisdiction based on the size and/or use, this company charges TWICE the amount of the building just to give you the engineering and plans. Now, why would they need to charge so much money for prefabricated structures they make? They should just have that engineering on hand once for all the different types/sizes. It should be included in the cost of the building OR then should be transparent with their customers on how much they charge extra. I work for a building division in Clackamas County and sadly, we see so many upset customers who had no idea they needed engineering for these structures. Unfortunately, the building codes do no have a prescriptive path for prefabricated buildings a private company designs/produces. Ask questions and do your homework. It's not the fault of building codes or building departments these companies price gouge their customers. read more

I am disappointed in my dealing with west coast metal buildings. Mostly due to their representatives I dealt with on the phone. They all seemed to be young girls who seemed inexperienced about the business. They didn't have good relations on the phone, not able to communicate fully or nicely. I found them to not have good customer relation skills. And they lacked knowledge about their company. Also the architect they used made several mistakes. All he did was collect his money and put out a bad product. When the workers got here to install the building they were somewhat angry about several problems with the plans. It did take along time to finally have the building installed. I think the company should call their client after the install to check on things, which they didn't do. But only call if someone who is knowledgeable will call- not the young girls. But the building is strong and sturdy, well build I think. Xx read more

I would give 0 stars of possible. The WORST customer service ever! Once you pay for the carport, you're on your own. My carport (over a 5th wheel trailer) failed the first winter, angle braces buckled. West Coast Metal Buildings refuses to return calls and has given me the :run around" for months.
