The people were friendly and welcoming. The lodging was modern, clean and first class at La Mision Hotel. Every meal was excellent or outstanding. Loreto is not Los Cabos. All of this became the backdrop to the jewel of the trip, a day of fishing and relaxation in the Sea of Cortez. Cast N' Reel provided an extremely comfortable and fast boat for our fishing adventure. By fast, I mean that we were able to fish in one day all of the locations that would have taken three day with the local panga boats. All of our needs were anticipated. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, soft drinks and Mexican beers were amply provided. I am a novice fisherman, so I really enjoyed having the perfect balance of coaching and mentoring when needed while also the opportunity to work things out on my own. It was difficult to remember that it was mid-December. The weather was perfect. We caught eleven fish of multiple varieties including grouper and cabrilla. While the marlin and yellowtail were elusive, we did see sea lions, dolphins, sea turtles and perhaps even the dorsal fin of a shy whale. At the end of our day, our catch was taken to one of the better dinner houses in Loreto and prepare in a variety different dishes. They were all wonderful. It would be difficult to have a better ending to our day.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating (Flora is awesome!) They have a little tienda for minor provisioning but we found we needed to rent a car and drive to Loretta for major items. The marina can set up a rental car for about $30 USD for a 24 hr rental. Avis will drop off and pick up the car for that price, which is super convenient. For their guests, the marina also has very clean bathrooms and showers which is also included in the dock fee. There is also a laundromat on the property for a fee each, for a washer and dryer. The staff keeps this place very clean. They also have a fuel dock if you need gasoline or diesel. There is a restaurant on site - Pepeginas if you want to read my reviews. I love their pizza and Angel makes the best pina coladas!

We saw colorful nudibranchs, hundreds of reef fish, playful sea lions, and a moray eel! Our guide Orlando made us feel safe and comfortable diving, and our boat captain showed us pods of dolphins and leaping rays on our journey to the islands. The catamaran is very small & seating is not the most comfortable but you get fantastic views of the mountains & shoreline. Food was very minimal but fine - chips, salsa, guac, cheese,fruit, & burritos. Drinks were beer, tequila, & rum. No wine - I was very disappointed with the no wine.

The tour itself was beautiful--snorkeling was awesome, we got plenty of snacks and drinks (including alcohol), and lunch was simple but tasty with sandwiches provided. My only complaint is that they didn't have enough snorkeling gear for our group of 6. Thankfully, two of our people chose not to snorkel, otherwise it would have been a bigger issue. A little more preparation on that end would have made the experience perfect. That said, Carlos, Humberto, and our driver (sorry I forgot his name!) were fantastic--super kind, knowledgeable, and made the trip fun and educational. I would definitely book another tour with Wild Loreto. Just bring your own snorkel gear if you want to be 100% sure you're set!

Liz arranged for a boat tour for us and let us know all the local happenings around the area. The Casita was equipped with everything you could imagine in a kitchen. I could have baked cookies if I was thus inclined, and the staff came in and cleaned every day. It was lovely having our morning coffee outside in the courtyard and with a heated pool you could swim at any time of the day. With a well stocked library and movies if you just wanted to stay at the casitas and relax you need not look anywhere else. Close by the town square and the marina, everything was within walking distance. We have already booked a 2 week stay next year we were so impressed with the service and room. The only red flag was that I had to make a payment through a link that was not under the Luxury Boat Tours name. Other than that, everything was absolutely perfect. Alberto (Pancho), the crew boss, stayed in contact with me by text from the time I booked until the moment we were picked up, which gave us a lot of confidence and made the entire process easy. We did a private sailboat excursion in St. Thomas in June, and while it was nice, this experience was on a completely different level. The boat was a large catamaran, and it was just my wife and me. The personal attention was outstanding. The crew went above and beyond to make sure every one of our needs was taken care of. Captain Alberto was not only an excellent captain, but he also prepared an incredible lunch. He diced and prepared all the food like a fine-dining sous chef. My wife does not eat seafood, so they prepared an amazing carne asada meal for her, while I enjoyed the seafood. The quality and quantity of the food were outstanding--we couldn't even finish it! From the moment the dinghy picked us up until we returned more than six hours later, everything was first-class. We spent the day snorkeling, cruising around the islands, and enjoying an experience that was truly top-notch. This was a 5-star experience, and we would 100% recommend Luxury Boat Tours to all of our friends and family. If you're considering a private boat experience, I would highly recommend them!

In December 2017, my wife and I went with two other couples on the 5 day Loreto Primer Trip. The experience level varied from having lots of sea kayak expeditions and instruction to newbies. Our guides, Marcos and Tuku, organized a trip that kept everyone happy - great paddling, great food, wildlife viewing and snorkeling. Not only that, Marcos and Tuku are BCU-trained and were happy to provide instruction in strokes, self-rescue, bracing and rolling after setting up camp in the afternoon. A siesta was also an alternative after a morning paddle to a new beach. The professionalism of Sea Kayak Baja Mexico was always evident. The kayak is top-flight featuring TideRace, NDK and Romany kayaks. Tandem kayaks were also available. Marcos and Tuku were well-trained in risk-management. This was particularly clear on the first day when inexperienced members of our group were safely guided onto a beach with a modest surf. I hope to return to Loreto - there is much more exploring to do with Sea Kayak Baja Mexico.
