We were waived up to the entrance immediately upon pulling up. My next visit the line was much longer but moved rather quickly. All three employees I dealt with were very nice and respectful. Which later I find out, was Adrienne (? Spl). They were jokers; and their jokes were light hearted. The staff answered my questions welcomingly and succinctly. I appreciate that I wasn't belittled nor treated condescendingly. My past DMV experience included staff who were on power trips and untouchable demeanor. One staff in Wayne even questioned my presence as a mother of a minor. There was an instance that a lady yelled out, "No pictures". Everyone around me looked puzzled. I looked at who yelled and looked at me. She yelled again, "No pictures." I had to reply back that it wasn't me. "Well someone was taking pictures." I have no reason to take pictures. I was busy dreading the 2hr drive back home. But I would still give Salem DMV 5 Stars!!! I will have no hesitation to come back here if needed.

I went here on Friday Dec 5th at just before 8:30 to finally get my real ID. The line was across…read morethe front and to the side about halfway down. At 8:30 the doors opened and all of us were let in. We filed into a line around the room. An employee announced if anyone was just getting a picture taken to step forward and get served right away. And now here is where the longest wait happened. Only one employee is checking the paperwork so most are in line for that since that's how you get your number to be waited on (or sent home if you didn't bring the right papers!). That took about 30-35 mins. Not terrible!!! I was 5th in line when I got my number. Got called to a desk in 10 mins (I had barely just finished the 2 pieces of paper they give you to fill out!). From that point I was done in 10-15 mins since I had to get my picture taken ( you can use your current license pic only if your name on license already matched passport. Since mine was missing my middle name I didn't have the option to use the pic on file). But the camera kiosk person was the nicest lady ever. We laughed and commiserated and she let me take 3 pics before we got a photo that was ok. So in and out in 70 mins with real ID in hand! I had been so hesitant to do this having heard such horror stories. So glad I finally did it!!

We arrived 15 minutes before they opened, and the line already wrapped around the building and down the block. Luckily we'd blocked out the day for this task. I waited 3.5 hours but got it done. Staff are really excellent there. They run a tight ship and keep everyone in order. They are open about wait times and manage everything efficiently. There's no small talk; they are polite and to-the-point in order to get through the line as quickly as possible. They review folks in line to make sure they are prepared with the required forms and documents; you won't wait hours only to find you can't be served that day. I brought work to keep me occupied, some water, and my patience. Bathrooms are clean, btw. This location prints IDs in minutes, which is why I chose it. I appreciate the staff and their work to make sure the process moves as quickly as it can.

Brain dead and incompetent…read more They had one job: print out my label and send a package. They manage to print out the label and then lost the package apparently forever. I was told by the unhelpful lady behind the desk that they never received the package even though she was the *same* lady that took the package and printed the label and put the label on a package only for it to disappear. So basically she fucked up and she's trying to make it seem like I dropped the ball. No ma'am. That's a one star review. She argued that there's no record of the package after I printed the label. I did not print the label. I do not have a printer. She printed the label while I watched and then lied about it. The same unhelpful civil servant who lost my package then offered me assistance in filing a claim. Brain dead and incompetent. It breaks my heart that my tax dollars are paying for this person's pension. Your mileage may vary.

First, this post office is very neat and clean inside. All of the pens worked and there was plenty of space for me to write out addresses and get everything organized before I walked to the counter to ship my packages. What really put my experience over the top was Cathy, or Cat I think she goes by. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and patient. She was multi-tasking all of my shipping needs, explaining everything AND taking care of other customers questions when appropriate. She seemed like she knew everyone who walked in and took great pride in her job. Needless to say, I walked out of the Post Office with a big smile on my face all because of her customer service!
