i went for an annual skin cancer screening a little over a week ago. A skin cancer screening is…read moresupposed to take at least 10 minutes and most of the time a lot longer. My regular dermatologist routinely checks all areas of my skin, inch by inch while wearing a light/magnifying apparatus on her head. She checks my entire body including scalp, ears, fingers, between toes, etc. My regular dermatologist also gives me time for any areas of concern. Dr. Yalowitz was very casual and dismissive in her 5 minutes (at most) skin cancer screening telling me "you're good" without examining 75% of my body. I now have to wait until February 2024 for my "annual" cancer screening with my regular dermatologist because I can't trust the diagnosis Dr. Yalowitz's made without checking most areas of my body. This is extremely disappointing and possibly dangerous.

The staff said that they "tried" to contact me, but I have no record of this and no voice mail messages. So, of course, I went there only to be turned away. When I had one other appointment with Dr. Mackler the past, I endured a tiny, crowded waiting room and a long wait. I tried to give her another chance since she's close to home, thinking maybe it was an "off" day, but it's NOT worth it. More of the same. Beware if you value your time and sanity.

I received a phone message from her saying (and I quote) that she "didn't have the time to call iPledge" (the agency that oversees the accutane drug regime) - and Dr. Mackler wasn't speaking in a gentle tone. She then refused to see me anymore when my insurance changed to Medicare & suggested I see a colleague. That dermatologist said it was a concern & without a biopsy prescribed 5FU cream. I grew suspicious when I read this could exacerbate the spot if it was malignant. The next dermatologist took a biopsy & it was Squamous cell carcinoma, which is very dangerous because it can spread to anywhere else in the body. Dr Klar is a fraud!!!
