Terri, Chris and maintenance are great and I really appreciate them. However, I, along with some other neighbors, are really disgusted with this building still looking so shabby with the massive amount of peeling paint in front and on our decks. Can't invite friends over as embarrassing to live in this building and the very old and dirty carpet inside and the dirty steps that hits one in the eyes immediately. Why no budget for this building???? We deserve the same as the other tenants!!!! There has been talk of putting reviews with pictures of the ratty condition. Also, we are tired of the drug dealing and strange people in the next entry. The strange behaviors and traffic is really irritating for those of us who are good, honest neighbors!! My husband and I decided to stay at West Hampton because it was in a good location close to things that mattered to us. It started off well then went down hill. 1- we decided to adopt a cat after my cat passed away, I called the office and inquired what steps need to be made, if our building allowed cats- how rent would change ect. After we got our cat I called to give them my info to find out that the girl I spoke to gave me incorrect information and that I would now have to move apartments if I wanted to keep my cat. I talked to the Manager Shawn who was less than helpful. I don't have much nice to say about him. So we ended up moving apartments to a different where we were told we didn't have to sign a new lease because it was a transfer. Not the case. So we had to sign a new lease which we didn't want to do. 2- our apartment flooded in our walking closet and living room after we got a bunch of rain. We didn't get someone in there until 3 months after the fact to have our carpets cleaned. It was so much water that it went up over your toes. We had to go out and purchase a shop vac because one couldn't be lent to us. I used every towel we owned to soak it up- didn't even make a difference that's how much water there was. So my husband and I shop vaced our carpets. 3- our washer broke-- so anytime you start the washer it will continues to fill with water because the sensor don't shut off. So my husband trying to help threw in a load of laundry not knowing that it was broke and we went to bed. He woke up to use the restroom to find that our living room was flooded and the kitchen. We called maintenance and they came to help- I wish I knew the guy's name because he was very nice and had us set until the next day when someone could look at that washer and fix it. The guy came the next day said it was fixed so I tried it only to have the apartment flood again. 4- the new apartment we moved into after adopting a cat it snowed-rain mix and our carpet started to soak through enough that it went between my toes. Turns out the concrete was cracked so they cut the carpet in two places to patch it. Which left two very noticeable spots. Very much a eye sore. 5- after they fixed the carpet from our above problem they were going to have someone come in to clean the carpets. They never showed on the day I was told. So I come home the next day to see that they came in without telling me like law requires-24hour notice. They moved some of the stuff that was left out since we didn't expect anyone to be in or place. In moving things they broke two of our dishes and when I called to talk to the office they made me feel foolish for calling to complain that they let someone into our place without our knowledge and then complained we didn't pick up more so they could clean the carpets when we didn't know they were coming. I wouldn't suggest this place to my friends and family. My husband and I won't renew our rental agreement when it's due this year. Save yourself the headache. read more

My fiancé and I were planning to move here, but we changed our minds. The thing we didn't like is the fact that we applied and we got approved, but none of the staff let us know in time about us being approved. We had to keep contacting them and wondering if we got approved so we would know and be ready for the next step. We wanted to lockdown our price because it was always changing, but they were no help. They also took too long to send us our lease agreement. They apparently said they tried to call us, but I didn't receive anything. We would email them and ask them if they needed any other information that would help them. Once when I emailed them and told them we'll be taking our business elsewhere, they immediately got in contact with us. They're just a money hungry company. Then last minute they asked us for our paystubs when they should have asked us for that at the beginning of the application. They sent us our lease agreement 3 days before we planned to move in, which is a little last minute. Not only that, but the last straw for us was when they asked if we like to include any of there internet packages in our rent, but we declined and said we'll be providing our own. Then a week later they informed us that they don't accept cox cable or century link, they go through a different internet provider or we could use a mobile hotspot on our phone. I wish they would've mention this in the application somewhere or in the email when I declined their internet packages. We not only wasted our money on the application fee, but we also wasted our time. I guess that's better than wasting our time living there. read more

Apartments felt clean and secure, the parking was more then enough, though the road ways within the compound need some maintenance. The yards looked well kept and the doors we used shut behind us without help and felt secure. I like how quiet the location was and the surrounding areas. I was just visiting so I don't know about the rents or availability of housing. If I could justify the drive, I would probably consider living here. read more

I've just moved in to my two bed two bath apt Aug 18, 2014. Not only was I given the wrong apartment but the apartment was so dirty. There where dead bugs on the carpet, poop in the toilet, floors where sticky, the shower had a used soap bar (so I know it was not cleaned at all) I complained to the manager Shawn, he said that "it is what it is" what a jerk! Then when I was leaving this morning, there was vomit in the hallway (gross) I called the office and reported it. It was still there when I got home from work after 9 hours! Today my toilet was leaking from the back because it's rusted out. Do not rent from this ghetto hole better off going to another complex that cares! read more

I was going to give it 2 stars but no matter what nothing justifies what this company did. I have lived here for 2.5 years and just like any person have had a few noise complaints. Recently we had a new neighbor move in and we started getting a string of complains from noise, to domestic violence to drugs. In December we received a 14/30 letter in the mail explaining to us that they had a number of complaints of pot and noise. I contacted the office and tried to explain that 5 other people live in the building and we have never received any complaints to this magnitude. I simply explained that the pot smell was not us and that it comes from the hallways and could be anyone in the building. He then explained to me that I was lying and that there was no way it could have been anyone else. I let it go and continued living my life. On February 5th the maintenance guy knocked on our door around 7 and told us that he had gotten a complaint about pot smoking from the person above us. He stepped in and took a deep breath. He said he could not smell anything and said he would go explain to them what he had seen. On February 6th I then received a letter in the mail saying my lease had been terminated and I had till the 25th to vacate the property. I offered that he come see it him self and bring drug dogs and police, he refused to do anything. So now that this happened I have to take my 1 year old child and wife and find a new place to live in less than 30 days. I applied to a apartment not to far from here and was declined because of my past. I'd like to inform you that I've never been late on a payment or had any issues until this man moved in. I'm very disappointed with the way things were handled and would like to see new management. read more

I have never been treated more nice and professionally by an office staff than the people at West Hampton Park. Tanner was very helpful and always there to answer questions and even reach out to me to just check up on how things were going. He made sure I was aware of everything and was on top of all my changing demands. It seemed like he truly cared about making sure I was taken care of and it was as easy as a moving process as possible. I've never experienced that with an apartment complex. I didn't unfortunately get to move in to these apartments due to my hours being cut because of covid but if things turn around I definitely look forward to reaching back out to West Hampton and hopefully becoming a resident there as the location is great, schools around are fantastic and the apartment themselves could use a little updating but are priced right and cover most of the utilities. I absolutely love these apartments. The balconies are extremely private and face a natural environment, the staff is always kind and helpful, work orders get completed very quickly, the place was spotless when I moved in, the layout and ceilings on the third floor are just beautiful. You even get a walk-in closet and full size washer and dryer! Seriously, I have never encountered an apartment that compares for this rate. Great value! I highly recommend it :) read more

I've lived in West Hampton for a few years now...I work on the west side and it was convenient. Before you consider moving in you should know a few things. As others have written, they maintain proprietary access to the cable and internet...both are bad and expensive. You can get Direct TV, however that's only if your balcony faces south otherwise you're stuck with their cable. Once you've moved in...routine maintenance amounts to an annual inspection of the furnace and fire sprinklers... your carpets or flooring will not be replaced, walls will not be painted, vents will not be cleaned...etc. Also don't bother bringing a grill here. Despite the states regulations on grill types for apartments, they only allow one-pound camping-type grills. The building is cheaply constructed with thin walls and floors. Each morning I'm awakened to my upstairs neighbor's alarm clock. You can imagine the noise generated when someone with children running about moves in above you or if your next door neighbor decides to play polka music. The doors and windows seal poorly and the wind howls and whistles through the apartment. It took three of us complaining for three months and several police visits before they would evict the wife-beating crack head on the third floor and almost six months before the first floor group of restaurant workers that loved to drink and party outside each night from 1-5 am were asked to leave. Outside of the swimming pool or renting the reception area (50 people max...very restrictive, limited, and expensive), there are no other amenities and nothing at all for small children. Overall it's pretty safe, there have only been a few autos broken into... not more than a couple a year. read more
