We take a huge park blanket and spread it out and then just run constant ant patrol on the perimeter and it works out pretty well. Not a place to bring food as its swarmed within minutes. My kids and I lovingly call it the Ant Park. But all in all, we still totally enjoy our time there.

I have not visited Lindo Lake County Park since I was a child. I am glad I visited again. I liked…read morethe new walking trails they have added over the years. The trail is approximately 1.5 miles. The park area offers lush green grass and plenty of places for a picnic and such. As for the lakes, there are plenty of bird species that live there, like geese, heron, pelican, egrets, and more. I observed several families fish there as well. The butterfly garden was new to me. There's a boathouse that can be rented for special occasions, a softball field and skate park nearby, and a children's playground at the park. I read that they plan to continue to improve the park over the next few years. There's a good amount of parking available.

This is not to say that we or anyone shouldn't watch their children and use the fence as a form of supervision, but when you have a super active child who wants to explore everything and a baby, it is nice to give your older child a little space to explore and know that if you don't have them on a tight lease they won't get hit by a car. The area over all is pretty clean and there is a decent amount of shade. So-So The structures (one for smaller/younger children and a bigger one for the older kids) are average. Nothing super special. Someone wrote a hate word on one of the structures. I'm not sure if it has been removed yet or not. Negatives The bathrooms/porta pottys, are on the other side of the fence and there is not a way to get to them. All the college kids park right out front and tend to park super close to other cars making it difficult to move. *******The city workers are the worst. There are multiple signs there they say to "LEAVE THE GATE CLOSED". Clearly the city doesn't care if you can read or not to have this job nor do you need to follow simple directions. On a number of occasions they just stroll in and leave it open. Thank goodness people keep an eye on their kids but seriously. There are signs there for a reason! The city needs to hire people who can read!

The ground is partly rubberized and part wood chips. There are two play structures, one for maybe 1.5 - 3 year old, and another for maybe 2.5 - 5 year olds. I like how well maintained/groomed the park is, and the trashes are always empty (except for an…read moreunmaintained section of the play structure that has been broken for many months and they finally got around to just putting caution tape on it.) There are no restrooms here so if your kids have to potty, pray the school next door is open and that they will let you in. Other than that, parents let their kids pee behind the bushes (just be careful because there are rattle snakes in said bushes, I can hear them rattle sometimes and there are caution signs to warn you.) This park is a strict pets on leashes park, but most (99%) dog owners act like it's a dog park and could care less about putting their dogs on a leash. The dog owners love to chat with their friends at the park who also own dogs and since they're so busy talking sometimes they don't even notice that their dogs went poop so it just gets left there, and it happens quite a bit. Or their dogs will jump all over you with dirty paws which I can't stand, NOT EVERYONE IS A DOG LOVER and my kids also hate it and most of the time people just say "it's okay, he's a friendly dog." Um, it's not okay now that I have dirt on my pants and a million errands to run so I was hoping to stay clean. They let their dogs pee everywhere!!!!!, including where the mulch is near the play structures, Gross!!!. Not to mention that a ton of dog owners who walk on the paths to get to the park never pick up after their dogs since nobody can see them do it, so everytime I have to make sure I don't run poop over with the stroller or make sure the kids and I don't step in it. Lately when the park ranger comes by, they just drive by, they don't even stop so you can't request anything. I would recommend bringing your own water and not use the fountain for drinking based on what I've seen. The people who come to the park are always very nice and it's a really great community! We come all the time since it's close to the house and the kids are able to make friends since there are usually a lot of kids that come. There are picnic tables and plenty of benches, though I don't like the benches that have no backs to them.

There is a gym, and baseball fields and a small playground for the kids. Its almost always near deserted. Good big grass field to play and run around in. Even a few picnic tables for a quiet lunch. Gym membership is only $20.
