I unfortunately was in a situation where I NEEDED to go to cedars because of the complications of my condition. I'd say that if you can go somewhere else you'd probably be seen a bit faster. when I finally was brought out of the waiting room into a bed, it was in a hallway, where I was kept overnight and was finally put into a "room" the next morning at about 9 am. All of the ER tests and things were done in the hallway. Other than the time and the wait. The care I received was second to none. I was given attentive Nurses and doctors who were competent and actually figured out what was wrong with me. Hopefully this review guides you in the right direction.

Today i had to bring my mother to ER. It's under construction so it made the check in inconvenient. We checked in at 10:45 am. Got called in for a bed at 5:52 pm. Then it took about an hour before the doctor stopped by. The doctor ordered a CT scan and lab work. It's 10:05pm and all the tests have been completed. We're waiting for an update. Not quite the service we had in mind from a top notch hospital. I would expect this from a county hospital. There were many people waiting for at least 8 hours including a father and son who were sent by a research group in Honduras to have the son seen by cancer specialists. The son has stage 4 colon cancer. He was waiting alongside my mother! At 10:53 pm the nurse stopped by to let us know my mother is being admitted and the doctor will come by soon to speak with us. There is no need for this type of wait or lack of service. This is bad healthcare.

I have ucla as my group. So usually I feel my questions are answered but then sometimes I find, at…read moretest or procedure time, I was still given the simplified version, and was no longer sure I made the right decision about care. Usually i dont like that. But today I'm again seeing another thing which is people going about their jobs and filtering out the unnecessary disturbances that are bombarding the place! The yop of the list is slamming of DOORS! In many offices here at 200, no one says anything when a door literally shakes their desk and slams like a bomb. In the quiet waiting area with ppl whispering, it's literally plus 60-70db over ambient. Thats equivalent to someone turning on a stereo full volume by accident. It can happen 5-10 times in one minute as it's a busy place. And you jump! Simple detail adjust door closer with a Phillips screwdriver in like one minute. I have been coming to this building for 14 years and its the same! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL. Maint you should be ashamed of your lazy asses. Admin, If you arent noticing this, you are not concerned with patients. Apparently, doctors techs researchers receptionists being able to concentrate is not high on the list here at UCLA. They have most of us well trained as customers: to expect bad service. update 8/25: I wrote the above between the first and 2nd half of my appointment 8/24/26. To JA below: you pride yourself on latest tech but what about everyday tech? You aren't too concerned. I'm sure it doesn't happen in your office! I was surprised and well validated to see that the 3 stars i randomly chose was HIGHER than the average 2.5 stars you have scored on average of all previous reviews (the ones not filtered out). Who are the People giving you #1 in California, what authority do they have to say that, and what are they looking at when they do? Just another company making money. Incidentally on my visit yesterday, to illustrate what i said above about not getting full explanations, i was told by the tech that there were 3 scans in the process not 2, as various doctors had told me, and that I could do only the first. The tech explained that if i didn't do the 2nd hour scans (he says i was only approved NOT to do one of 3 scans, the cat scan, and leave out the cat scan, and i was supposed to do a 2nd scan i didn't know about. I had been told catscan was the only scan in addition to the first, so they were planning to do 2 MORE, and i had to stay for the 2nd hour anyway to do 1 of the 2. I said, if they need the catscan later, they will have to inject radioactive dye again, right? 'yes' he said. So I said, just do all 3 scans. i think the injection is more concerning than the xrays. So he prooceeded to do all the scans AND THERE WERE FOUR SCANS NOT THREE!!!! What is so f'ing hard about explaining what you are f'ing doing? I want to understand it the way YOU understand it. Not a Gong Show version. Not professional.

And to make matters more difficult, the drive into LA was long...and I had to use the bathroom...eek! As I walked to the busy food area, I walked passed the medical center and figured....they should have a bathroom. And they did! Solving my first problem and ready to eat, I was exiting but walked passed the busy in-house cafeteria. Wow was it busy! I was here...so I decided to check it out...and it was fantastic. There were many food stations and everything being made to order. Why walk down to the populated busy food area when there are wonderful options so close by! There were almost too many options...but I decided on the tostada salad. I got it loaded with beans, chicken, lettuce, cheese, olives, green onion, and pico...all on top of a baked shell. It was very delicious and as a combo, it came with a medium drink...which all totaled about eleven dollars. If I need to go to Pauley Pavilion again...I will stop here for sure!

It was a little frightening because I didn't know what was going on with me and I felt so horribly, but the ER physician Dr. Obi came and updated me once all the results were in. She was very thorough and explained why I was being admitted, what was going on, and the plan for me. Dr. Cozensa then took care of me, he was straightforward, knowledgeable and an excellent surgeon. Dr. Hyun was my anesthesiologist, she was so kind and communicative and clearly exceptional at doing her job. I felt I was in very safe hands with them. The radiology department was amazing. I had a lot of interactions with them and from the radiologist techs to the transporters; everyone was so professional, kind and attentive. I also want to shout out to Dan in Nuclear Medicine who was so kind and explained every step to me during my scan and to Tovar RN on the med-surg floor who took care of me my last night - excellent bedside manner, communication skills, and overall care! Just really above and beyond. Did I want to come here? Heck no; no one wants to go to an emergency room! But did I get the care I needed? And I got to walk out on my own a few days later? Heck yes. Grateful to be alive and have had a good outcome.

I was worried about carbon monoxide poisoning, heat stroke, anemia, or something serious, and I just wanted them to check my blood work and figure out what was going on. The doctor came up to me and asked what I was there for. I started explaining that I wasn't sure what was wrong and that I wanted them to check my blood work, and he immediately interrupted me and said, "No, I said WHY are you here?" Then he told me, "I don't need you to diagnose yourself." The way he was talking to me was SO aggressive and hostile. It wasn't just what he said--it was his entire tone. He was talking to me like I was stupid or bothering him. I was already sick and scared, and I literally started SHAKING from the anxiety while he was talking to me. I finally told him, "I don't like the way you're talking to me." Instead of calming down or trying to communicate with me like a human being, he said he was the only doctor there and, basically, "If you don't want to talk to me, there's the door." Then he POINTED at the door. Are you serious??? I came to the ER because I was scared that something was seriously wrong with me, and this man made me feel like I was the problem for asking for help. I was so overwhelmed I was practically in tears. I genuinely felt like I could die that day, and this is how I was treated when I came looking for medical care. And the ER itself was awful. There was basically no privacy because patients were being spoken to in chairs in the hallway. The whole place looked chaotic and honestly looked like a mess. It did not feel like a place where someone should go when they're already scared and vulnerable. I understand doctors deal with stressed patients all day. I understand they have to ask questions and make their own diagnosis. But NONE of that gives you an excuse to speak to a sick, frightened person like they're an inconvenience. I came there because I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME and needed a doctor to help me. I will never forget how I was treated that day. I walked into that ER scared and sick, and instead of feeling cared for, I walked away shaking from anxiety and feeling completely humiliated. Absolutely unacceptable. People like Dr EUGENE PARK should not work in hospitals. People like him should be fired!

I was scheduled with…read moreKP for a CT scan on my chest for some underlying Cyst that were discovered on a prior appointment. I actually made my schedule on time with enough time to actually sit down comfortably in the waiting room to cool off and watch some television. Their receptionist made an honest mistake when she first identified me individually as the wrong sex till see saw me face to face. She apologized, and said that the CT Scan Opperator had just stepped out for Lunch. She offered the waiting room that was surrounded by other patients and the television that had a perfect sound level for me to hear when I was being called. The CT Scan Operator was fast and thorough on what he needed from me in order to get me in and out through the door. He was very nice and tried to make it right when he couldn't pronounce my last name correctly. The procedure seemed to move like the touch of silk. After I finished getting the CT scan done on my chest. At 2:15pm I went to Urgent Care at 4700 W Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90027 across the street to be seen because I had a problem that I needed to be solved. Like Burning Urination, I wanted the burning and pressure to stop. I did everything that I thought was right before making this appointment by keeping heavenly hydrated, ate cranberries, and made sure that I was cleaning myself properly after urination for six days. The burning had left at one point and came back fierce. So, since I was on the Main Street that is practically a minority entity of Kaiser Permanente. I told myself, "Why not, it's better to be safe than sorry." So I made the appointment with the receptionist that was very nice and thorough jumping back into a question on one my symptoms in order to note it properly. She let me know that my wait time was going to be an hour. I felt like my appointment wait time was less than an hour. More like 45 minutes which was good for me. The sooner I was seen, the quicker my problem will be solved. When I finally was called in by the male Nurse, he seemed supportive when I asked him for some extra hydrogenic wipes for when he asked me to urinate in a cup. Better that I am safe and not sorry. He was quick on logging in my reason for being there and didn't skip a beat on any important questions that needed to be logged in. The doctor came in to see me and reminded me of somebody that I knew from the past. Her behavior was bubbly, outgoing, and laid-back, so she seemed easily approachable to talk to me. She felt like an old friend. I let her know of my problem and asked her what was the determined cause? And what was going to be the solution to relieve it? It's been many year's since I have ever had a doctor tell me that I have a UTI. I had them a lot when I was a child. So, hearing that come from her was scary for me. She prescribed a medication to kill the infection and one to relieve the irritation. I started the medication right away yesterday, and I feel like I am feeling better already. I'm happy that I made the walk-in appointment.

Because I am not fully confident in my English, I chose to use a Thai interpreter to help me communicate. Unfortunately, the experience I had with the interpreter made me feel as though I was not being treated as a patient. One of the first things she said to me was, "If you already knew your liver enzymes were high, why didn't you come in sooner?" I was surprised by that question. I explained that I had personal reasons, including possible issues with my health insurance, and that I had done the best I could under my circumstances. She also told me that it was not possible to schedule both appointments at the same time. I completely understood that. However, she then asked me to explain all of my medical conditions. I did not feel comfortable discussing all of my personal health information with an interpreter because I considered it too private. My intention was simply to schedule a private consultation with Dr. Aida, where I could discuss my medical history directly with my doctor. After I declined to share those details, she said she would have someone else speak with me instead. I was completely fine with that. However, she hung up the phone, and no one ever called me back. I truly like this clinic because Dr. Aida is an excellent, caring, and compassionate physician. That is why I hope the clinic will pay more attention to the quality of customer service, especially when patients are already dealing with stress and health concerns. Speaking to patients in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable or judged is not helpful and can make an already difficult situation even harder. For now, I have decided that I will no longer schedule appointments by phone. Instead, I will come to the clinic in person, as I believe that is the best solution for me at this time. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I sincerely hope it will help improve the experience for future patients.
