Tom helped me think through strategies for installing connections to allow tank cleaning and water level measuring equipment. When the tanks arrived (via FedEx ground) they were precisely to specs, well wrapped and intact. I had them delivered to the bus operator where I bought the bus and he commented on the quality of the tanks. Really impressed!

The store is a mess, sort of; looks more like a warehouse now and less like a place to shop. Staff is minimal...I mean scanty... and those that work there have no desire to really help you. They are, however, interested in socializing with each other. I don't blame them actually. Poop rolls down hill, right? So, if administration has no mission to provide great quality and customer service, no pride in what they are doing, why would the minimal staff that work there? It doesn't make me happy, what I'm writing, but I need to be honest. I try to find what I need anywhere but at Dick's Sporting Goods right now. What a disappointment.

The captain knew the waters well and we took a high speed trip down the coast, passing great scenery and a bald eagle on the way. We were catching fish within 30 minutes from launch, reeling in 4 and 5 fish at a time. Taking a break from the fish, we headed to a spot to look for seals...saw at least 6 in the water, and one sunning itself on the rocks. Back to fishing, Sam took us to a quiet cove. The lobster men were just finishing, and we found a huuuuuge school of mackerel feeding on the surface. Casting into the school, we could watch the mackerel chase the lures. On the trip back to Belfast we saw some porpoises and more great scenery. The trip exceeded expectations. Not the most luxurious boat, but super relaxed and family friendly. We loved it. It was the highlight of our trip to Maine.

But behind the counter they've got a little kitchen and chalkboard menu. The food is really cheap, which is great. It's also one of the few places in the area to get food, unlike the 'busy' side of the island that is packed with restaurants. The burger patties had to be a solid 1/2 lb. Cooked medium with tomatoes and lettuce. We got our food to go and they packed it nicely in containers with a little bag for all the condiments. I always appreciate those extra little things. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite to eat in the area and don't feel like spending a fortune. They also have a very good selection of soda and beer.
