came her due to the fact I was in terrible tooth pain and the only place that could see me ASAP. They told me that I needed a root canal I had no idea what in the world it was or anything, someone briefly explained to me what was going on and told me this would release my pain. So therefore I scheduled an appointment first off let me say I've never been to a dentist office where they have more than 1 doctor. Staff pretty much sucked no personality barley like to talk besides a few. I paid oop due to the fact my insurance didn't cover.. if we fast forward to the time I had the root canal in about April I went back a month later because I was still having pain, come to find out the lady that treated me no longer worked there ... hmm that's weird.. so the next person gave me antibiotics because he said it could be infected... went back a week later and still in pain they didn't take any new X-rays or re check the root canal he basically told me to go to a oral surgeon and get an Apicoectomy there might be something " they can't see " never provided me with 1 I was stuck finding one myself and come to find out they had a oral surgeon that worked at that office. Never called me once again to ask how I was doing or again checked the tooth again.... From that month until about September I've been suffering with pain from their poorly root canal job which they left a nerve still alive and they would've known if they would've re opened the tooth.. I don't get back money nor time ... but they did call me to see if I wanted to come back in for my yearly cleaning... my insurance is currently requesting Information from them and they won't respond.. needless to say pls save your time/money and not go here if I could give negative or no stars definitely. read more

The other dentists talk down to the patients and staff and the staff then takes it out on the patients by being rude and unhelpful and Dr. Goldstein is in denial about all of it. it's the worst I've been to and I've seen some hacks and evil, money hungry doctors and dentists. read more

BEWARE. West Nyack Dental is a scam. They require ALL patients get X-rays every six months before the cleaning/clinical exam, presumably so they can charge for this lucrative service, since the ADA (American Dental Association) recommends X-rays "only after reviewing the patient's health history and completing a clinical examination", and the ADA acknowledges "...there is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to the interval between dental X-rays." Not to mention the inherent risks of radiation exposure and that most dental insurance plans cover only one X-ray per year. This is not my first pregnancy, and I have NEVER had a dentist refuse to clean my teeth because I opted out of an X-ray. read more

The offices were filthy. The staff are very unprofessional. The wait time for an appointment was made longer by their poor organizational skills. I would not recommend this practice to my worst enemy. Even if your insurance options are limited, I would not recommend West Nyack Dental...take a pliers to your tooth instead. read more

I wish I had read the reviews first. Sometimes in August of 2022 I Went there to get Dentures after the insureance approved the cost. After waiting a month two appointment were made. First one was to get impression for Denture then after 2 weeks was first appoinment for extraction ,It was the worse experience I have ever had with so much pain. I don't know the Dr's name I think it is Spow. With no considertation to my discomfort this BUTCHER of Nyack pulled the wisdom tooth then stiched. 2 weeks later anopther teeth impression. After 2 more weeks the same BUTCHER and this time 2 teeth were pulled sane horrible expereince,then another impression. Then again few weeks later this time the entire lower front teeth were pulled.with several stiches again. Now I got to wait again and see when they have time to extract the upper front teeth. what I was told was false and lies. 2 to maximum 3 months job has taken almost 5 months and is not finished. When I asked the receptionist she said maybe sometimes in February of 2023.Mean while the upper teeth I have does not mach the lower denture that I recieved ,So for who knows how long I must suffer till this Horrible dental office finish the job. I belonged to West Nyack Dental for many years then retired and moved to Pennsylvania. Over the past 4 years we tried a few different dentists in our new state, but were not happy with any. Sometimes you don't realize how well you had it, until its gone. One time my wife and I were leaving for Europe and she broke a tooth. We called West Nyack Dental and on the way to the airport we stop by and they fixed the tooth and we were on our way.Their x-ray and cleaning system is routine but it works. Then they evaluate you teeth. I drive in from PA. to go to West Nyack Dental because their well rounded in all aspects of dentistry. The office staff has not been over friendly or pleasant, but we have been going here because they accept my husband's dental plan. Last week I sent my 17 yr old to Dr. Cronin with severe tooth pain. I was not able to accompany her. He barely looked in her mouth, did not do an x-ray, and sent her home, telling her to brush/floss better, gargle with salt water, take Advil. 2 days later, her entire face was swollen. We took her to the ER who told us to follow up with a different dentist. Today she was seen by a Suffern dentist who had to do TWO ROOT CANALS! This should have been picked up last week by an x-ray, which wasn't done. Although this practice is on my husbands' plan, we will not be going back. If I can give them a zero I would...If you want your teeth to be completely butchered come here....I came in for a cleaning and was told I had a cavity in my front tooth and needed a root canal I went for a second opinion and was told I had no cavities and no root canal needed... walking into the office will make you super uncomfortable with the rude staff up front...they take you 40 minutes after your appointment and look at you like you are the problem...they are truly the most unprofessional dental office out there.... They never billed my mom for 35$ in 2018 and billed her now in 2022 ... the shadiest money hungry people ever ! DONT GO HERE LOL read more

I made an Appointment with oral surgeon Dr. Slow to have my Wisdom's teeth and a Broken tooth remove Prescribed by my Dentist and when I got there, I waited 2 hrs while other people were coming and going and then they called me in and the Surgeon was very Rude and Nasty to me, asking me if I needed antibiotics I told him that the Dentist gave me antibiotics and then he said to me I don't do Infected teeth you would have to go somewhere else that they put you to sleep, so they send me somewhere else. I was in Pain and Crying but he didn't care -10 never again will I go there. read more

This place is terrible, . I'm glad I got a new dentist who actually cares about their job, and pointed me in the right direction. I got a cleaning in December, I asked what work needed to be done before i started my invisiline journey. They said I was good to go, but that wasn't the case. Yesterday I found out I needed an implant , a crown, and two wisdom teeth to be removed. Wish I would have known this before I started my invisiline journey in Jan, thanks guys. The receptionists made a few mistakes with us. The first time we were there, they called me to see if my son was going to go to his appointment AFTER he had already checked himself in. I clearly told two of the receptionists my sons were covered under my husband's insurance not mine and I received a statement from mine saying they were denied. I went in to see Dr. Ira Slowe on 11/29/16, to get a wisdom tooth removed. He had extracted another tooth before and after that appointment I had made an appointment for the upper left wisdom tooth to be done. I arrived to the appointment on time and 10 minutes later am I told that he would not do it because it was too far up! He had my X-rays since August of 2016, and had seen me twice before today, and now he had decided to tell me that he would not do the extraction! Extremely unprofessional! I called the practice and spoke to another Doctor, telling him that if Dr. Slowe had an issue with doing the procedure, why did he not call me before hand( thus not having to leave work early and making other arrangements), and was told that Dr Slowe does not look at patient files until the patient is in the room. Ridiculous! An oral surgeon who doesn't review the patients symptoms and X-rays before hand. I was told Dr. Slowe is only there once a week, and now I understand why! read more

I'm not certain why I am giving them a one but why did I go back when I knew how it was going to turn out. I had called my insurance company and was desperate as there were no availability anywhere til end of dec. I was upset and my insurance company was very patient and helpful and did a 3 way call with WN dental. I explained a recent set of unfortunate circumstances; cancer sudden death of husband , another close family member and all I was requesting was to make my teeth less of an eyesore which added to general stress I was experiencing. I had 2 chipped teeth which WN had done X-rays and 2 of fillings that fell out they had put in about 2 years ago. Told them on phone that I still had my insurance allowance and wanted to use for fillings. They didn't say no and appointment was made for next day. The visit started with my name being called by dental person but wasn't certain it was me. She had her back towards me as I am asking questions and then started laughing. A office person came in and I reviewed what I wanted for the moment and that I wanted my teeth filled. She said no they would do X-rays. I said I had them done there a year ago. She said every 6 months. I said I didn't want X-rays again. She said well the dentist wasn't going to do anything except x rays anyway. I then said so your not going to help me? . I felt humiliated and felt no one there listened or bothered to have anything understanding and I walked out. I Will never go back and do not ever recommend them read more

Haven't been to the dentist in about a year. Basically, avoiding a trip to West Nyack Dental. I am looking for a new office to go to. In my experience the administrative staff has not been pleasant. There is one staff member in particular who tends to great patients with a less than positive attitude. It's already nerve wreaking to have to go to the dentist. I don't think it's necessary to dampen the mood with a bad attitude once I walk through the door. Also, at one point I was advised to have my wisdom teeth removed only to have another dentist in the practice say it was not necessary the same day I was scheduled to have the procedure. They tried to get me to pay for composite fillings which my insurance covered and sent an approval for them. I go in and come out with silver fillings!!! Everything was all well and good at this place until the last two years... 2011 and on. All of a sudden I feel like instead of going to a dentist, I am going to an extortionist. They are not satisfied with you coming every six months, they now want to see you every three months. I have no idea if Guardian will even cover something like this but I am not willing to find out. They tell me that my composite fillings (white colored) are wearing away and need to be replaced with silver ones because they last much longer. How come no one told me about that when I got them just a few short years ago?? Then what really gets me is how I have to pay $100 out of pocket because of the use of the Cavitron during the cleanings. All these years, this was covered by my insurance and now all of a sudden it is not? I am sorry that they are in Rockland County and I am really sorry that they are being taxed to death because of where they are but I am not going to be their cash cow and neither is my husband. You can shear a sheep for a lifetime but you can only skin it once. I would not be surprised if they were doing fraudulent claims with the insurance companies. The receptionists there would rather gossip about their social lives and play music than provide good customer service. The dentists are rude and give attitude if you ask any questions. I have been going here since I was 12. Going Back this Thursday for a Cleaning and x rays.... The People are very nice at this Dental Place and very close to wear I live. I have 4 fillings in my Mouth now and had 4 Wisdom teeth pulled in 2004. Very happy with clean teeth and give you Toothpaste, Floss, and mouth wash. I comeback with very Pearly Teeth also very healthy gums. Dr. Edward Cronin is a great man and checks your teeth and x-rays, The Administrative Staff are very friendly and you wait a long time and it is worth it hands down, My parents like this place too, Every 6 months I go but missed last month, Service is awesome! :) There Number is 845-358-6888.... read more

This is the worst dentist I have ever been to. I would give a negative rating if I could. DO NOT go to this practice! I was forced to use this practice due to my insurance, first impression walking through the door had me questioning the office. The staff was gossiping and using profanity, office seemed messy and unkept. I was there for a cleaning and checking on a cracked upper wisdom tooth. The wait was over an hour. The hygienist was nice but pretty ruff doing the cleaning, the dentist checked me in the matter of 5 min, confirmed the tooth was cracked and the surgeon had to remove it. Front desk scheduled me for the following day to have it removed. The following day I come in and the staff had already lost the chart they had for me from the previous day! Once again over an hour wait. The oral surgeon was very rude and short in conversation. He stabbed my gums with numbing medication and proceeded to remove the tooth. I was literally pinned to the chair as this man attempted to rip this tooth out of my mouth. As I call out in pain he questions me on why I'm complaining about the pain. He then breaks my tooth in 2, exposing my nerve. He throws the tool he was using and cruses. He goes for a second attempt, hits me with more numbing meds and still can't get the tooth out. He tells me he can't get the tooth out and I will have to go somewhere else! I was in extreme pain from him beating my mouth up, I'm bleeding and have severe pain from the exposed nerve. This man literally send me on my way to find help elsewhere. The front desk called another practice to get me in immediately, only catch was I now had to get my wife to leave work and drive me across the bridge to Hawthorne, where this practice would sedate me and finish the job. I was told I would have some out of pocket expenses but at this point I didn't care. I asked the person in charge in the West Nyack office if they would cover my out of pocket expenses since they where sending me over their, I was told it wasn't their fault they couldn't do the work, sometimes things happen that's out of their control in that office! That's what he told me and that I was on my own! I ended up at Westchester oral which I would give 10 stars to! Great service and got me right in, the doctor over there said my mouth looked like I was put through something he has never seen before. He did not want to do the work that day due to how bad of shape my mouth was in but I insisted due to my pain. With great relief the job was done. The work being done at the new practice cost my wife half a day of pay, toll on the bridge and $395 out of pocket since my insurance didn't cover everything at this practice. The surgeon in Westchester called West Nyack surgeon to see what the deal was and the West Nyack surgeon actually gave an attitude to the Westchester surgeon and yelled at him! This is my story and it needs to be told! Stay the hell away from West Nyack dental at all cost! I hope that place shuts down and no one ever has to go through what I did. read more

I had a terrible experience at West Nyack Dental. I would give 0 stars if I could. I came here at the recommendation of a coworker, as I was looking for a new dentist. I was told at my cleaning that I had 4 cavities. Having never had a cavity before, I was really alarmed and skeptical. I made the appointment to have them filled but I couldn't stop thinking about the unlikelihood that I really had FOUR cavities. I called the office back and requested my X-rays. I had a really hard time getting them but they did ultimately give them to me. I brought them to another dentist for review. He concluded I had ZERO cavities. Someone else on here mentioned a similar situation. The discrepancy was really really unsettling. Were they really going to drill 4 healthy teeth for nothing? I told my coworker and she was shocked and told me she had SEVERAL cavities filled by him over the years! Who knows if they were legit or not. I've been going to my new dentist for 2 years now & I'm really happy with him. I can't believe how dishonest this place is. It's really scary to think we live in a world where a doctor would perform an unnecessary procedure for money. Please don't go here! read more

I had the WORST experience at West Nyack Dental. The doctor with the grey/white hair, he's old, bald on top, wears glasses, has a somewhat dark complexion was super rude to me the whole time. I don't remember his name. He was rushing me to make a decision on whether or not I wanted to continue with the extraction after realizing that I'm not put to sleep when removing just one tooth. I was under the impression that patients are given the option of whether they want to be put to sleep or not. He suggested that if I wanted to be put to sleep, then I should go somewhere else. I didn't know if I wanted to continue with the procedure with him, so I asked if I can call my sister to see what she had to say, maybe she can comfort me, and he responded in an aggressive and annoyed tone "Whats your sister going to do? She's not the one sitting in the chair." I felt super uncomfortable the whole time, he didn't try to calm me down at all. Unfortunately, I continued with the procedure because my tooth had to come out. It was my first time getting oral surgery and I was really nervous. I felt like he rushed through the procedure also, and didn't take his time. Also, as I was walking out of the building, an employee there asked me what I was here for and I explained to her my experience and she recommended that no one come here to get their teeth pulled. I am never going back there and I will never recommend any of my friends or family to that doctor. So unprofessional. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. This place is horrible and I recommend that you do not go to this office if you want to keep your teeth. I have only gone here because part of our participating dental plan - Never again. Currently seeking a lawyer. Last visit had a checkup and also had a complaint of a toothache. They repaired the tooth, only after the visit my pain got worse. I decided to go to a different dentist and pay out of pocket because I have been starting to question what is really going on in this office. Requested my x-rays and 2 days later went to a different dentist. ** Only to learn that they filled a cavity without removing all of the decay - that is why my toothache did not go away and only worsened. The cavity was then fixed by other dentist and learned that I had 3 other cavities that were getting dangerously close to the nerve - she reviewed my x-rays over the past year from west nyack dental and showed me how the other cavities were growing and obvious on x-ray. Essentially they were letting my teeth rot so they could then replace with a crown that they will make more money on. They are looking to give everyone crowns and letting teeth rot - or fixing cavities that don't exist. Stay clear of this office if you like your teeth. read more

This is the most unorganized office I have ever been to. Unfortunately my last dentist stopped taking my insurance so i thought I would try this office. My 13 year old went in for a root canal and the dentist that saw him for the impression left him with a bruised and swollen face. The bruise was so bad that it didn't go away for 2 weeks. The impression was bad and we had to have it redone. I asked for another dentist to do it and got one but that impression was bad and had to be redone again. After the 3rd time the lab declined the impression, I decided to go elsewhere. A few of the times I went in, they had me in for the wrong thing. I went there for two wisdom teeth removals and ended up leaving with one pulled out. I was not numbed all the way and I tried to tell the oral surgeon that still could feel. The idiot not only pulled my tooth out but cracked it, leaving the other half in my mouth. I've been in pain for months and they gave me aspirin for pain medication. They did not take the remainder of the tooth out. My gums rejected it a few months later. I am incredibly dissatisfied with their service and their reluctance to help. The secretaries are so rude and need to be taught manners. If I could I would have sued. They should be shut down permanently. Please go somewhere else. I beg you. Very inconsiderate of their patients' time. They called a day before my appointment to tell me to reschedule because their hygienist is going on vacation. I waited very long for this appointment, planned work around this appointment, and the last minute told me that they can only reschedule me late February or March, bumping me off a month. Shouldn't they have a replacement or coverage for that hygienist going on vacation? It's anticipated time off so they could have planned for coverage. However..... when I came to another scheduled appointment no one called, or emailed me about cancelling my appointment, so where was my $30 for cancelling on me...wasting my time, and gas. Never go to West Nyack Dental. Went there for 14 years. I went every 6 months for cleanings and check ups (dealing with the rude woman at the desk). Initially they did a lot of work (repaced fillings, root canal, etc). I was under impression my mouth was in good dental health. For next 10 years got a cleaning and check up every 6 months. Each time I was told everything looked good and see you in six months. Recently I had a problem with a post and West Nyack Dental told me I would need an implant. Of course my insurance did not cover this so I decided to go somewhere else for a consult. Within two minutes the dentist asked me when the last time I saw a dentist. Explained I went every six months for last few years. The dentist said it looked like I had not seen a dentist in years. He continued to tell me I did not need an implant at this time and that was the least of my concerns. He recommended that I find a different dentist even if it was not him. This new dentist spent three hours with me. Took full set of x rays and even displayed pics of my teeth on a tv screen. Showed me tooth by tooth and explained problems. Even told me teeth that I had sensitivity in without me telling him. He sent me home with a full report and pictures of my teeth just in case I wanted to go somewhere else. He did not charge me a dime for this. End result is over $20,000. of required work to repair my teeth from years of being told by West Nyack Dental "Everything is great see you in six months." read more
