West roofing helped me redo an enclosed gutter. Some positives and negatives. Overall, I thought their work was ok. The gutter liners seemed well done but they left a ton of sloppy roof tar on the corner of the gutter/roof. When I asked the owner to come back to fix it he said he'd have someone stop by- but no one did. When I asked again I was ignored. This makes me worry what will happen if there is a warranty issue. read more

What can I say about our new roof. It looks great. What I have concerns about is the quality of the workmanship and professionalism of the workers, or lack thereof. The workmanship doesn't reflect care or respect for our home, our most valuable asset. For example: Nails were shot with a nail-gun seemingly haphazardly, missing their target (the rafter tails), resulting in split and damaged wood, with chunks missing, and exposed nails, which had to be cut back after the fact. There are exposed staples prongs, too, that I see whenever I look up under the eaves of our home. I had to clear about 10lbs of nails and wood debris from our gutters when the job was done, but not before rusty water spilled out and stained the side of our house. Nails were littered all over our property, as well. A termite infested rafter tail was left in place (the work was supposed to include replacing all damaged wood). I keep finding issues that concern me. My husband placed a few calls to the owner of the company regarding the rotten rafter tail and didn't receive a callback. read more

We were very, very fortunate to find West Roofing (owner: Joe Elady). They did an outstanding job on with the replacement of our 16 Unit building's 10000 Sqft roof. The rains from earlier in the year has caused water damaged in multiple units and owners were very anxious to replace the roof before the rain season starts again. The roof vetting process was very discouraging. Contactors were either too busy to entertain a new project, their process seemed lacking and unclear, flaky with appointment commitments, or bids left us exposed for surprise costs that could occur during the roof replacement process. After 4 months of searching we found West Roofing. Our patience paid off. At this time we were very experienced at the vetting process. We met with the owner, Joe Elady, three times. He had the patience to listen, took the time to clearly explain what would be done to our roof and exactly what materials would be used. He was both easy to talk to, and understand. We were so fortunate to find Joe Elady and West Roofing through Yelp. We read a review from a person who met with 6 firms, and West Roofing was actually his first choice. He decided to go with #2, as West Roofing only had 6 Yelp reviews. He came to regret his decision, which is one reason we called Joe. He met with us immediately, spent the time with us to thoroughly educate us on the issues, what needed to be done, how he was going to do it, exactly what materials were to be used, what manufacturer and warranty for materials, how long it would take. He reassured us that he would be overseeing every step. We were quoted a very reasonable price, and decided to go with him. Altogether, we met with 4 other roofing firms. Joe's quote to us was the only one that specified exactly in detail what each and every material was to be used. The other quotes we received were less detail-specific, which we found off-putting. We were very impressed with Joe, his experience, his knowledge, the materials to be used, and we did not feel pressured to place an order immediately, unlike a couple of the other firms. I had a leak from the heavy rains going into my home. I called Joe Elady and he came by to inspect the roof. He had mentioned that my roof is solid and that the leak was coming from an air conditioning duct. This was a minor repair and something that his company does not normally do. He however attempted to seal the leak with the available tools he had. He came back the next day and out of the goodness of his heart, he did not charge for his efforts. So when a female project manager showed up who knew her s&@$, I was pleasantly surprised. I am basing this review on the fact that I have not been contacted in two weeks after being told I would get a call within a day. Two weeks ago I contacted the company and spoke with Joe. Told him we needed some tiles repaired as they were damaged during a recent termite tenting we had done. He asked for some photos of the the tiles and I promptly send him several pictures. He replied indicating he would contact me the next day. Two weeks later and no call or follow up. I am not impatient, however my main concern is in getting the repairs done to the broken tiles before we get the heavy rains that usually come in December and January. He gave us a fast turn around and started work within days after we signed our contract. He took time to review our concerns and explained everything clearly. They used laser leveling to repair sags and restore the slope and the rotted sub-roof as well as added a very needed additional drain. They installed all new scuppers and flashing as well. Absolutely fantastic work. Joe's crew stripped off 4 layers of roof (including original wood shake shingles) and installed new plywood. Joe helped us choose a color and style for the new roof and gutters and was very thorough in explaining everything that would be done during the bidding process. They were not the lowest bid but it was all inclusive meaning we were not on the hook for any surprises that they found. He had enough faith in his knowledge of roofs and what he saw to make a flat bid. They found surprises but took it in stride.
