I attempted to get a reservation in Bellevue first but that was roughly $80 per person for bowling!?!?!?!?!! We checked out this place instead. They have good drinks with a full bar and some food options. Our drinks were around $7 and the pizza we got was $20. One side is regular bowling and the other is glow bowling. The staff was super friendly and our server checked on us multiple times. We paid roughly $55 for 1.5 hours. It was just two of us so we got about 3.5 games in. read more

Similar to my Kenmore Lanes review, I know nothing about bowling LOL. I am writing this review as a non-bowler-supportive-girlfriend. Anyways, I went here with my boyfriend and another of our couple friends for a double date last night. We were able to reserve a lane online and just show up. We checked in with Jerin at the desk and he was super friendly and helpful! Throughout the night, I always saw staff cleaning up cups and wiping down surfaces. Super efficient, especially on a busy Friday night. Other than being a fun date spot, my boyfriend also bowls league here so I am regularly eating and drinking while I watch. The food is so delicious and the waitresses are so friendly and on top of everything! I will admit the drinks are on the pricier side, but you're paying Seattle tax. Preston, at the bar, is also really nice and knows me as a regular at the counter. Ah....a bowling alley that gets 5 stars??? I never thought that'd happen! I like bowling quite a bit because it's easy and casual but also fun and can be done with a crowd. You can get food and drinks here too so fun for everyone. All the bowling places I've been too were super old and run down, the balls all have scratches and knicks and the computer system is monotone or doesn't work.....but not here!! I'm super impressed with their computer system and alleys. Their computer screens have many options, some with funny faces, some themed, but my favorite one is actually the one with the stats - tells you how fast your ball went, what's your highest score chance, etc. I love the data (even though I found out my balls move at a slug's pace....). Honestly, my standards for a bowling alley were really low because of all the ones I've been to in the past.....but this one is really at the top of the list. Plus, their food is decent and the restaurant attached has deals like Sunday brunch & bowl where you can buy a brunch entree and get 2 free games of bowling. Great deal!! read more

Bartender with the blue hair gave me an attitude the moment I walked up. Very rude for no reason. My group was all 21 years old.

My baby sister and I are brand new to bowling. Here's what we wished we knew before arriving followed by a review: 1. You can switch lanes at no cost if other bowlers are making you feel uncomfortable. Data transfer is easy. 2. If you are the smallest group, they will put the largest group of bowlers right next to you. 3. You yield to the lane on the right. Let them bowl first then you bowl. We had a good time until the end of our stay.... Relatively easy parking, friendly staff, and decent food. They bring the food to your lane which is nice. The ambiance is blue collar. Sports on every TV. Mostly men with beards drinking beer. I worked in Construction so nothing new to me. Everyone was unmasked including us. The negative star is for the lane seats. They are too small. Our humble party of (2) was mobbed by a party of (5) unmasked young men to (1) lane. They weren't drinking beer, but one of them was bearded. I am guessing high school seniors or college freshman/sophomores. These guys started sitting on our seats, crowding the shared table with their food, and walking on our side of the lane. Passing by our knees on our side instead of theirs. I had to tell them to get off our seats once. I didn't have the energy to as they kept on doing it the moment we left to order food or go to the bathroom. I just wanted to relax/have fun. Nor was I in the mood to meet some random dudes. Sometimes you want to be with your group & bowl. They didn't have a Mediator in the group to manage conflict/introduce groups. They also lacked spatial awareness/general manners which told me they probably haven't travelled out of the country let alone the state. Nothing I couldn't call out clearly without seeming rude myself. But their behavior caused my baby sister to be uncomfortable with sitting on the bench. I think worst case scenario b/c I had my baby sister with me, these are five unaware young men, I didn't expect to be low key mobbed, and it's during COVID. Again, I didn't know bowling culture/etiquette & this was towards the end of our stay. Best to keep my cool & observe. I asked the front desk person before we paid/left. He kindly explained the etiquette. The reason why that group was placed next to us was b/c we were the smallest group & all other lanes were full. You may think I am a guy who thinks too much. You're probably right. But we all went through the trauma of COVID. Whether you were anti-mask/anti-vax or not you couldn't do all the activities you used to do for over a year. And the pandemic is still very much alive even in some US states. So excuse me for not wanting people in my personal space. That may be the nature of this business, but under the backdrop of COVID it is problematic. I'll still come back. Probably by myself or a huge group. I will probably get mobbed by another huge group b/c I am a party of one & now I know how they make lane decisions here. At least this time I know I can move lanes at no cost. read more

There are amazing food and drink options while bowling. If you do the kids package for a birthday, your child will go home with a smile ear to ear and a real white new shiny bowling pin, signed by their buddies. So we're spoiled because we live pretty much right next door to this bowling alley. But with Covid, this is the first time we've really been able to visit in the 6 months we've been here. But it was worth the wait! You have to wear a mask the entire time, every other lane is closed, and they clean their bowling balls and shoes right in front of you before they give them to you. We definitely felt safe the whole time! The staff was also very kind. It was $34 to bowl for 2 of us for an hour, including shoes. We also paid a $10 reservation fee online to make sure a lane was available when we got there, so we only paid $24 there. The screens are pretty up to date and overall we're really happy they're are local place! Will happily go again in the near future. read more

WSB has taken every precaution to keep their bowlers safe. They sanitize everything!!!! The lanes, balls, and shoes. There isn't anything that is touched between bowlers that hasn't been sanitized. They request that you leave everything at the lanes so their staff can properly clean and sanitize everything between patrons. They are also only allowing two bowlers per lane and only opening every other lane to achieve social distancing. So happy that they are open again and I feel completely safe bringing my family in to enjoy one of our favorite activities. Masks required except when eating or drinking. And! This place has no wheelchair entrance, only three steps from the sidewalk. We Had to bump my wife up the wet stairs. The young employees volunteered to bump us up. I asked them why there was no wheelchair entrance, they told me that the city would not let them build a ramp. (?) There was no AD access to the lanes, had three steps to the lanes, there was a small approx. 25" wide ramp at end to access the lanes, most wheelchairs are 28" wide. Sounds like the owners didn't do their home work. Looks like they can move the end bench 10" more from the wall to fit a wheelchair. They obviously have the money to repair, since the place was packed with bowlers. read more

I guess it's cheap so that's cool... but this place needs a SERIOUS makeover. It's really hard to fit all your friends on one tiny leather booth and everything looks totally worn out. Also the shoes are probably the oldest grossest bowling shoes I've ever had to wear. The balls also felt filthy and old and I never even knew that was a thing. The food looked atrocious, I saw a group order two large plates of nachos (covered in black olives?) and a burger, and watched how after one bite was taken out of each they we're left untouched for the entire 2 hours I was there.. not a good sign on the food either. You are also forced to watch sports here while you bowl, I guess it must be a very popular thing for people to want to watch a sport at all times? But I found the number of TV's totally unnecessary. We have been here a few times and will continue the bowing is is pretty cool the screens have all sorts of stats like your average speed you bowl the ball and what angles to try to hit. They have TVs on all the lanes so you can watch a game or something. The food is actually pretty good our fav has been the burgers we got the quadruple burger which is bacon and blue cheese with tater tots. We have been on Friday nights when it's busy but the only thing was we had to go to the bar to order.. we were suppose to have a waitress and she was there but she was the only one and went to all the other lanes and we bowled an ENTIRE game before she came to check on us the first time. On a Friday there should at least be 2 or more.. it's not that it was bad but more inconvenient we were on the last lane and every time we wanted another drink or food we had to go wait at the bar we were also on lane 1 which is the furthest away. They have a lot of alleys. I am glad this bowling alley is still around and not sold off for another apartment building. It's only $13 to rent a lane during Happy Hour. During Happy Hour which runs until 6pm only half the lanes were in use. Don't think this means you can actually bowl because league bowling starts at 6 so they clear everyone out at 5:30 for absolutely no reason. Between 5:30 and 6 maybe a quarter of the lanes are in use by league bowlers warming up. The automatic floor cleaner swept the lanes during Happy Hour so it's not like they had to clean. Why don't they want my money? If you go in a group after 9pm when league bowling is over it's not too bad. $29 an hour for a lane and $4 shoe rental. They would light on balls if they place got busy. The on-site bar and restaurant is fancy but good value and the food is okay. Burger and tots were pretty good. The staff here work their butts off to be nice and fast. They made you feel comfortable. More seats upstairs. As for alley staff, they have a lot of them who just seem to be there to hang out at the counter. Getting a question answered with a real explanation is hard. A couple staff spoke to you as if they allowed you to be there but they don't like it (impression from a few people). read more

Best. Bowling. Alley. EVER. My parents moved up to Seattle almost 2 years ago. This bowling alley has become one of our favorite spots. We always have a blast when we come here. Most bowling alleys are not known for their food. West Seattle Bowl does not fall into that unfortunate stereotype. The food here is SO good!! I love the wedge salad. I order it with no bacon and I add in vegan chicken. Wait.. I know what you're thinking...vegan chicken... at a bowling alley?? No way! Well not only do they offer vegan chicken, but it is delicious! Some vegan products are dreadful but not the vegan chicken here! I actually cannot think of any other restaurant that even offers vegan chicken as an add-on to a salad. I told one of the bartenders that I couldn't believe how good the food was and he told me that it a goal of the bowling alley to serve great food. Well, it shows! He also told me that some people come in just for the food; they don't bowl, they just head straight to the dining room. Yep, they even have a separate dining room. West Seattle Bowl has a full bar and an excellent array of beers on tap. The bowling staff and bartenders are so nice, attentive, and friendly! This place has only gotten better since I wrote my last review. The decor, lanes and technology have all been updated. It's clean, smoke-free and there really is something for everyone: league play, family play, midnight/glow zone, parties - you name it. The cr***y old "Chinese" restaurant has been replaced by a better American-food alternative. Don't get me wrong, it's no 5-star restaurant, but you can order your pick of American fare (burgers, nachos, brats, pizzas, even seafood dishes) at the counter, have it delivered to your lane, and have the total added to your bill. I haven't tried it but they have breakfast-y foods on Saturday/Sunday morning if you're already at the lanes that early. And yes, you can still get your alcohol/beer fix on at the bar (which retains the essential character of sketchiness it always has with people drinking and hanging out at noon). They still kept all the bowling alley fixtures that really matter - lots of lanes, scary looking mechanics and staff that must live at the place given how often I see them there. A nice touch - I loved that they asked who was playing with us, entered the names for us, and that the technology is advanced enough to raise/lower the bumpers depending on the name of the player. Come here for the sweet potato fries; stay for the bowling. Seriously, my husband and I are thinking of entering into some sort of poly arrangement with those fries. They are THAT GOOD. Extra crispy sweet potatoes tossed in cilantro and fresh lime zest, served with chipotle mayo. Just wipe the grease off your hands before your next turn bowling. The alley is clean and charmingly vintage while having clearly been renovated. The bathrooms in the dismal basement show what the upstairs would otherwise look like. I like all the gleaming woodwork and 1950s-style angles. The prices are reasonable, the shoes fit, there's a variety of balls -- what's not to like? We've used a couple coupons here, so look for those. This place is really good for kids and families. They'll program the players into the computer when you check in and have metal in-lane bumpers automatically ascend for the little ones and then descend for the next big player's turn. Very cool. With the bumpers, my 6-year-old totally smoked me. (Not hard; I'm a terrible bowler.) They also have those metal contraption ball roller things for kids, though mine preferred to roll their own. They have a bunch of lightweight (6-pound) balls behind the counter for little kids, so you can ask for one if they don't give one out automatically. QUAR-TER-MAN-IA! Nothing like bowling 25c games the evening before the work week officially begins (well, for most of us, right?). Great lanes to do it, too. This is perhaps one of the last, if not THEE last, alley with beautiful arced glu-lam beams (just on one side sadly...). If you make an online reservation, that $50 is deducted from the bill when you pay. It's a bit of calculating, so it helps to keep that in mind when planning groups. Great maintained old school alley; it has room for improvement but hate to complain as it's one of few retro left around here. I'm interested in what construction is going up next door as Google Maps still shows the old parking lot in its place. Now that it's been remodeled it's not that bad a place to go bowling that is unless you are with a liar but I won't talk about that. The bowling alley is clean there are many lanes and I've never had to wait to get one. The shoes appear to be sanitized at least they smell like it and they have many selections of balls to choose from. And most importantly the score keeping machine is easy to work for those who are a little challenged like myself. Came here for a friend's birthday party and I had a lot of fun! The inside looks new, clean (even the bathrooms!), and modern looking. There are plenty of lanes, food, and booze to choose from. My friend reserved six lanes for us from 3pm-6pm, and I'm assuming it's cheaper to get it earlier in the day rather than later. She ordered fries (both regular and sweet potato), chicken tenders, and these burger sliders. I didn't try the sliders but the other two were really good! I really liked the monitor where your points are posted because it was very simple yet colorful. You can also add/remove players, and edit your name whenever you wanted to (my friends and I probably had more fun with that than we should've lol). The only thing we had to pay for was the shoe rental, which was only $3. My only suggestion is that they should install some automatic hand sanitizers. I have a small pet peeve about putting my fingers in a bowling ball full of germs and touching my food. I'm sure that they clean their bowling balls, but I still felt a bit gross about that... But I wanted to eat haha. So if they don't want to make that investment, I would suggest everyone ​bring their own hand sanitizer. Otherwise, I really liked this place! It's a very fun environment and would definitely go again if I had the chance. To start with, the entire staff from the kitchen, to the bar and last but not least the front desk is the friendliest, most courteous and welcoming staff that I have ever met at a bowling alley. I have never been treated like more of a family than at West Seattle Bowl. The bar is stocked with almost any kind of alcohol that you would want and the Bartenders are 10x more friendly than anyone in Cheers. The food is impeccable. The monthly rotating fresh sheets always offer something new and delicious. Not only is the food to die for, but the kitchen staff spends hours each day to prepare fresh food from scratch and will stop at nothing to ensure that the best dishes are available for the center's patrons. Lastly, the front desk staff and mechanics take care of the entire center like it's their own baby. With the recently replaced pin setters, the lanes are functioning better than any other bowling center I have been at in the last 10 years. They take care of their customers with the utmost respect and courtesy. I have seen many repeat customers return due to the experiences that have been provided by the front desk and mechanics. Their bowling shoes are pretty schnazzy and playing a few games with a good size group isn't expensive at all!
