Came here to celebrate my little cousin's birthday and had a blast! The lanes were abundant on a Saturday afternoon, and the kids could easily navigate the screens. You won't get modern and flashy, but you'll still have a good time if in good company. It's old and a little reminiscent of your grandparents attic. It's cozy and unpretentious. Roxy's welcomes you to kick back, put your feet up and relax. The food was delicious! Try the lemon pepper wings and fried rice. So good we ordered some to-go. The game area was fun too! You purchase credit to play, and the 'tickets' won are loaded into the card. The kids enjoyed redeeming their tickets for toys, gadgets, candy, and more. The friendly staff helped with transitioning from the bowling lanes and the game area, and helped set up cupcakes too. Great value for a kids party located in the heart of white center. read more

My toddler suddenly started talking about going bowling. So we took this as an excuse to have a family bowling night out at Roxy's on a Sunday evening. Solid idea. Pricing was reasonable. There are single player rates, 1-hour lane rates, 2-hour lane rates, and probably another option or two depending upon the size of your group and what exactly you had in mind. But the staff was friendly and welcoming and helpful when we ran into technical issues that inevitably arise at some point during the evening at any bowling alley. But also, the food menu is fantastic! The Chinese food was great. The award winning wings were REALLY good. The pizza was pretty damn good. The drinks were reasonably priced as well. All the food and beverages were brought out to our lane and our family evening out felt like a small little party. You can still order alcohol from the main food kiosk - no need to enter the bar section. The attached arcade is also a fun bonus - but nearly all of the games are games where you earn tickets to redeem for prizes. A couple racing games and one rail shooter. No pinball or arcade classics. I didn't visit the casino, but obviously that's a large attraction as well. Lots of security around which made the establishment feel safe and well regulated, which makes sense with the whole bar and casino sections being a part of the establishment. Our family had to go through a brief metal detector wand routine when we entered at the bowling alley entrance, but I appreciate a business doing what they can to make sure it remains a safe establishment. Everybody had a blast. Will definitely return. Especially considering my kiddo continues to talk about wanting to go bowling. read more

I had a pretty fun time, I'd definitely come back again. I decided to visit this place on a Wednesday at around noon time. Many lanes were open, attentive and friendly staff. My wife and I had ordered chicken and wings and I'd say they're an excellent side to have while your waiting for your turn to bowl. The items on the menu are reasonably priced; the cost per hour to bowl is acceptable. While the place has an "old school" vibe to it, essential things like the bathroom, the kitchen, the bowling computer system are modern and updated. The next time I visit, I might go when there's an event, like Rock n Roll and bowl, which i saw being advertised. This is what you call a hole in wall. If you want to play poker with a bunch of employees. And get scammed the entire time this is the place. If you are winning at the table they will antagonize you but expect no response in return. Certain people can curse the dealer and say all type of offensive things, but the moment you get cursed first and you return the same energy you get booted from the table because you're on a heater. This review is for the restaurant. Can I just say that the restaurant, though not looking that impressive, actually serves good Asian food ??? It's just one of those things that you can't judge by the cover.Initially, I questioned, but my boyfriend has successfully convinced me that their chicken wings are really good. You know it's good chicken wings when the to-go box has to melt every time before you even reach to your car. I completely agreed with that. It's so good, yet it's so unhealthy because it's fried! But, it's so darn good! My favorite type of wings is salt and pepper. I believe there's also sweet and sour sauce, and that's also very good as well. My next favorites in line are the Mongolian beef, cashew chicken, and Wonton soup. The rice that the restaurant provides is very generous as well. Oh Roxy's. You seem like a sibling to Skyway Park Bowl then you both got separated somewhere back in the 1990's. Perhaps the main difference is White Center may have the slightly better edge over Skyway. The lanes are decent enough. I used to go here annually for the old FedEx Ramp holiday parties a few years back. Then I just went back recently to reminisce just a bit and check it out, again. It's definitely seen better days but some things do seem improved or redone, such as the lane-side cushion benches (replacing old chairs w/ center table) and I _think_ a basic redo of the scoring console. As a seasoned bowler, these lanes didn't feel that good; it was sometimes hard reading when the ball reacted down the lane. The older AMF ball return is bulky and the chute ball speed is too fast (makes a ruckus at the ball stop); I recall this at other lanes years ago so maybe it's a standard setting but not sure. Not my favorite scoring system, as well, but it works. Everywhere else is ok but good enough to attract plenty of families and their kids as a decent neighborhood family spot. It's definitely gone a bit drab and stagnant; they could at least also hide the unsightly oil machine when unused. The front desk staff is proper and chill. Although, not really cool for them to walk across the lane approaches for various tasks (cuz they're not wearing bowling shoes). One guy did it a few times retrieving the kid ball ramps. It's decent enough as a neighborhood family spot. Hopefully it's renovated and preserved in the future to help keep the sport of bowling in that area. read more

Came here for my boyfriends birthday- Purchased two games for 5 people. We told the lady at the counter that the system wasn't reading the points and turns correctly a few throws in. She said she fixed it. We played a few more and it was still acting up. There was no one at the counter most of the time to help with this. When we went up the second time to tell her she said she could only refund the games we hadn't played. But you get to keep our money for the games that you had "fixed"? Yea, no thank you. Came here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We had 3 lanes reserved (which I recommend doing ahead of time because it gets super busy on weekends). They have more lanes than most bowling alleys and everything was running smoothly even though it's pretty dated. There were plenty of bowling balls to go around and they actually had my small size in their shoes. The front staff were super nice and attentive, but it was a little difficult to get a drink in the bar, as the bar is a decent distance from the lanes. It's a good place for families and a decent bowling alley. They have a casino attached if you're into that and they also have a restaurant that has literally every type of food available, but they are known for their Asian food. Roxbury lanes is as solid as their bowling balls! Taking into consideration that almost no bowling alley is ever clean or classy, Roxbury is your typical bowling alley. A bit of a musty smell inside from the years and years of cigarette smoking indoors (even though it's been outlawed forever, that smell is hard to get rid of). They've got tons of balls too. No pun intended! In the past at other alleys it seems hard to find 8, 10 or 11lb balls. Here I found a ton! Additionally, I took two small kids and had no trouble getting shoes for them or finding 6 lb balls. The other patrons were friendly and the service was prompt and polite. For 4 people to bowl and rent shoes it was only about $16! I'll definitely come back here if I'm in a bowling mood again. Seems like other places closer to downtown try to be fancy and market themselves to a younger audience. This is great because they're clean but it makes them more expensive too. Pro: Good food Cheap beer Decent lanes Con: Terrible Atmosphere Their nightly specials are a scam (more details below) You may get stabbed I've been to Roxbury lanes a few times, and had mixed feelings. The food is good, and if you play your cards right, you may save a buck over west seattle bowl... but thats as much of a gamble as any of the table games. Every time you walk in, you get the sense that everyone around you has given up on life. The place is a dive... not in the good way. To say the place hasn't been maintained is an understatement. The food has been great every time. I had some General Tzo's chicken that was crispy and delicious. The drink specials can also be good. AVOID FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS! They have Rockin bowl. But they don't play the usual classic rock, metal, or really any other type of rock music. They play the shittiest XM radio rock station with whiny no name neu metal bands. The music itself was making the group I was with have a terrible time. And to top it off, the pricing was the biggest scam I've ever seen at a bowling alley. It was $10 per hour... per person. Bowling alleys can either charge by the game per person, or by the hour per lane. No other bowling alley would charge $10 per hour per person on the same lane. Roxbury had 6 of us crammed on one lane paying a combined $60 per hour! And this was considered a deal!?! They didn't even offer us two lanes!!! Other nightly specials seem good, but you have to pay attention. Such as the monday night $10/person all you can bowl sounds great! Until you notice it only goes for 2.5 hours from 9:30 to midnight. If you have more than two people with you, you will likely spend more on this special... not less. Be sure to study their website and the "Bowling is Back" offers. OVERALL: Unless its sunday... you're much better off at West Seattle Bowl. Whoever runs the place needs to change their Friday and Saturday night bowling if they ever want us coming back. read more

Ended up here on total accident, thanks to my GPS :) I mean you can't really rate a bowling alley, they are all pretty much the same. Weird people, stinky shoes, the typical lane with 5+ High Schoolers on a group date, the kids birthday party and finally the lane with the guy that takes himself too seriously and owns his own bowling ball. This bowling alley was no different. The guys at the desk were funny and suggested that we do the hour flat rate (8$ for shoes and an hour of bowling per person) - seemed like a good deal to me. We bowled, we drank beer (pretty decent selection on tap and not too spendy - 9$ for a pitcher of Red Hook) and my friend gambled in the ever so awesome card room attached. Hey he won 20 bucks. However, upon arriving, I was told those specials are from the summer. The website does not mention any expiration date. It is December. Come on. Update your website. I ended up paying $8.00/game since we had a group of eight and the play was slow. I expected to pay $1.00/game since that is what the website advertised. Horrible deal. I happened to be perusing Yelp one rainy Sunday and came across the deal to get $55 worth of bowling for $25! So, I grabbed my family members and off we went! Roxbury is your pretty standard bowling alley, but, what do you expect? The place has a casino attached to it. All in all, I had a great time with my family and by the time we left, the rain had stopped. We had 2 lanes to ourselves, and we took advantage of the Family Special on Sunday (see their website for details). We ordered food, it was a bit on the spendy side, but the good ol' FRIED FOOD went right along with the grungy-ness of Roxbury. At the end of the day, I WOULD have paid $50, but, instead I paid $25 for a day of fun! There were 5 of us bowling and we played probably 4 games each. Quite honestly, there were 3 kids in my and they didn't notice a thing about the smell or look of the place, they just knew they had a BLAST bowling! read more

I came here because all the other better bowling alleys were busy. My sister suggested this place because she knew there wouldn't be a wait on Saturday night as opposed to other popular bowling joints. Now I know why. Just terrible customer service right when we arrived. The clerk was abrupt and acted like he didn't want to deal with us. There were obviously free lanes but didn't want to give it to us. He could have at least told us why they weren't available. When we looked at the sign for prices, he told us to ignore it and quoted us a different rate. That was weird because the prices are on a TV screen, so they can edit or correct that easily. We had to pay $13/person per hour which includes the cost of shoes. I guess they have to make up for the bad by raking up the prices. Second, the lanes were wonky. There were times when we had to roll three times in one turn because it didn't record one play. I think our lane was messed up too because it didn't pick up all the pins. Sometimes it forgot one on the end. I guess that could be a good thing. Only good thing was the service from the waitress. Even though we just ordered water, she came up to us to ask if we needed anything and was really nice. And there's an arcade area which is good for kids but we didn't use it. If we didn't already tell our friends to meet us here, we would have just left. Don't think I'll be coming back here. read more

Got a Groupon for this spot for a really good deal, so off I went with the boyfriend and roomies on a rare stay-local weekend. It's not exactly shiny or state of the art bowling alley... actually quite the opposite. The scoring machines were hella old school, the seats were old and faded, really the entire place was a bowling alley from the 60s or something. The number 7 pin would never register on the first lane we were assigned, so if for example you hit a gutter ball, you were actually given a score of 1. Which is great if you roll a lot of gutter balls I guess. Anyway, I kept correcting the scores manually but this was taking way too much time, so we asked to be transferred to a different lane, which was not a problem. They have a full bar with some interesting drink specials... we liked that. Also, some pretty decent bar food, we had onion rings and mozzarella sticks and all were pretty good. Neighborhood was pretty shady, but had a good time with the buddies. This spot is kind of out of the way for us, but if there was another good deal to be had, we would go again. read more

We had a great party today for our son. All of the staff were nice and helpful. Bowling, pizza, arcade, and all at a reasonable price. Yes, the burgundy seat was held together with bright red duct tape. Yes it's a little run down. Yes, you probably don't want to bring your kids after dark. I had my son's birthday party here yesterday... This was the worst experience ever. Customer service was horrible!!! The lady at the front desk walks around like she hates her job. The man who worked at the arcade tried his best to communicate with me so that helped but my overall experience still was trash. My son's party had a 6 o clock start. I paid for the bowling and arcade birthday package. I arrived and the area that a had reserved was dirty, took a 15mins for me to get the lady at the front desk to at least wipe the tables down so I can set up for my Son's party. Then the 3 lanes I reserved weren't working so they said they needed to reboot them, after the reboot we tried to set up the lanes and they stopped working again during that, so then she said the mechanic was working on them. That process never was completed which was very frustrating because that was the main thing my Son the "Birthday Boy" was looking forward to doing. So I asked for a refund for the Bowling portion and received a small refund not equivalent to the time wasted, or what happened next. I went to get arcade cards so the kids can get started on games after being bored for an hour while bowling was getting figured out and never did. Ended up spending an additional $185 at the arcade to what I spent on the party package because I had to pay to occupy the kids longer then I would have if we would have had the bowling part of the package. Still not the end of the BS... Pizza was originally supposed to be bought over at 630 the arcade guys asked if I wanted to switch the time to 7 for whatever reason something that had to do with eating after bowling was done which bowling never took place. I didn't receive any of the pizza's I ordered until 730 a whole hour and a half after the party started and only received 2 of my 4 pizzas at that time, which wasn't enough to feed my whole party, took another 15-20mins to bring the other 2. I never received my pitcher's with my drinks which was also included in my package had to to ask and wait 10-15mins for that. It was just a shit show and as the host of my Son's party I was very embarrassed. This was so frustrating, it was an absolute nightmare. I will never recommend this place. The website had me fooled, and when I called to set up the party and asked all the questions that individual made it sound good and had me fooled also. read more

One word for you GHETTO! That's what this bowling alley is in more ways than one. You walk in and it still smells like smoke. The inside is run down. The lanes are super slippery to the point I almost fell on my ass twice but was able to catch myself but only by sliding across the foul line and into the gutter. The ball selection was horrible I couldn't find a ball that my thumb fit in, apparently I have a longer than normal thumb than most. At least they have the electronic scoring it's the old school version but it's there. read more
