Went during their tulip festival! There is a bit of a line to enter as they limit the number of visitors allowed inside the garden. I really appreciated that as it didn't become too crowded and you could fully take your time and look at every single flower. It was free which is rare in NYC. Their website says it is fully funded by grants and donations and operated by volunteers! They have other events and opportunities to volunteer in their website as well! It's a really beautiful garden and a nice break from the city. Snap a few pretty photos of the flowers and then put your phone away. Take the time to really be present and relax!!!

Revisited again in 2023 for the annual tulip festival & enjoyed it like its my first time. Saw Different kind of blooming tulips. This place is such a joy to visit for nature lovers who live in the city.

Visitors relaxing among the beautiful flowers.

Today, April 16, 2024, I left home with the intention of seeing the beautiful tulips festival at the community garden, that I saw posted online. I was so excited because I love flowers. I wore my jacket, but kept on taking it off. It was hot in the afternoon. But overall, it was a gorgeous day, and from what I'd seen, everyone was enjoying it. I'd reached the garden after a short walk, of 3 blocks, from 86 street station to 89 street. Thank God I did not get lost. Omg!!! Bright colorful tulips everywhere. I got so excited and started taking pictures on my phone like crazy. The garden was fill with visitors, taking pictures, viewing the flowers, consorting with one another, and relaxing on the benches among the flowers. It was an escaped to paradise for everyone. The garden was not that big, but whoever planned the planting of all the flowers was a genius. I've never seen so many flowers, in the hundreds, so organized. Every space was taken. The flowers were grouped so perfectly. Congrats!! I took all the pictures I wanted and was happy that all the pictures of the flowers are on my phone. It was still crowded so I headed home. Just something to ponder about. Emotions are the variously colored lenses that we perceive thoughts and reality. If you look at a rose, while ANGRY, you would think.. damn roses! It's the red color of blood, the thorns are dangerous and threatening and it is hatred. But if you look at a rose, while HAPPY, you would think...Oh how beautiful the rose is and the petals flutter softly in the wind. The fragrance smells wonderful. I love roses and I feel loved. Thanks for reading. Be well.

An Instagram post about this place caught my attention... when visiting NYC we have several restaurants we like to visit and this garden was near one of them. We had breakfast and then walked up there - what a beautiful sight!! So many varieties of tulips! Such a nice spot with only the sound of birds chirping and kids playing in a nearby playground ... highly recommend taking a stroll through this garden!

Such a cute community garden open to the public ! I went on a Saturday and there was a line. However I didn't wait long and got inside very quickly. There is a variety of tulip colors and also dogs are welcomed!

My favorite UWS event each year is the Tulip Festival. Missed it so much last year - and this year didn't disappoint! So much love for this sweet spot.

A quiet, serene, oasis in the middle of the block on the UWS. Best time of year is during the tulip season or when they are performing a scene from Shakespeare.

    Wonderful Garden.

Brooklyn has numerous gardens stretched throughout the entire borough. However, whenever I'm in Spanish Harlem, I'm close to this garden. Maggie's Magic Garden describes itself as "Wild paradise in El Barrio. Community spirit with community food are all around inclusivity. We live to reclaim and upcycle and connect with our surroundings." That is a truthful description; as it is an "oasis in an urban area". One can truly connect to nature and all the beautiful things it has to offer. I did not know all the wonderful events this beautiful garden hosts.. I plan to check out Crafting in the Garden in the future. This truly special garden worth checking out. Maggie's Magic Garden is located on 1574 Lexington Avenue Check out her Instagram page

It's a great place to rest at the top of the hill on Lexington Avenue! I added this NYC Park to Yelp and I will post the hours. I also messed up the name. It's Maggie's MAGIC Garden. I requested Yelp correct my error and post the hours. The hours say closed Friday but it was open when I was there today! I hope you enjoy visiting this quiet peaceful spot as much as I did today!
