    Basic Combo Meal

I came here several times in college, but came back for a quick stop before going to an ISU game. I got a sourdough sandwich with turkey and vegetables. Pretty good, the sourdough just wasn't my favorite so I'll probably go back to my regular wheat. Quick, friendly service as usual. Plenty of seating with booths or chair. This place has a vibe that makes it seem like it's been an Ames staple forever and has lots of cool artwork. Street parking is available with meters, or park in the back for free (off the side street).

I ordered the Large Chicken Bacon Ranch on onion bread and it was amazing. The large sandwich was so huge I split it into two meals.

Absolutely fantastic place and a must for those living in Ames and those visiting. Fresh, quality sandwiches made to order that offers pickup. The generous helping of chicken is so juicy and flavorful, the bread deliciously freshly baked, and the toppings fresh and crisp. They offer a wide variety of options to cover everyone's preferences including vegetarian and gluten-free.

This unique deli is my favorite spot for a sandwich in Ames. You can either get a sandwich with combos they have come up with or you can create your own for a little less. I like to explore their combo sandwiches because they usually end up pretty tasty. Sides do not come with the sandwich, however, the sandwich itself will fill you up. I've tried the chili and Mac & cheese before, both are great additions to your meal. Be careful with the chili because when they say spicy they mean it. Customer service is great, you can add anything onto a combo sandwich at no extra charge and they will add a good amount of whatever you want. I have not had a bad experience here and neither have my friends. This is the place you come back to after you graduate and find yourself back in Ames.

Still 5/5 but I had to give some love to my favorite Ames locals especially during COVID. Went here today and experienced the patio!!! Never sat outside before but today was beautiful! LOVE the patio, it was a perfect way to enjoy my delicious Reuben sandwich.

Biggest disappointment was that while alcohol options showed on the menu, they were unable to serve any alcohol - claiming that their liquor license had not yet been renewed. I was craving a spring roll with peanut sauce, so to start things off, we ordered #90 Bo Bia steamed spring rolls with shredded shrimp, carrots and sausage served with plum sauce (see picture). While the wrap was thicker than the 'paper' wraps that I'm used to, they were very good - and I really liked the plum sauce. My wife was undecided and our very helpful waiter Archie, suggested #69 Com Ga Chien Xa Ot (chicken breast fried with spicy lemon grass - see picture). It was good, but both of us would have preferred a bit more spice, as we ended up adding Siracha at the table. I was considering #99 Banh Xeo Vietnamese style crispy pancake stuffed with shrimp, pork & veggies based on the menu picture, but Archie talked me into #97 Banh Tam Bi Xiu Mai udon noodles with shredded pork, steamed pork meatballs and veggies instead (see picture). I was impressed with the coconut milk and lemon sauce that he poured over it when served with the instructions to stir it all together - very tasty combination of savory, sweet and tart, with a very slight spiciness. I used to go to that restaurant once a week. That restaurant is the mother ship.. I would rotate between Cafe Fusion and Thai Flavors. Liam has become quite a entrepreneur of Thai restaurants he is the major owner of Cool Basil Banana leaf, and Thai Flavors on Ingersoll. He is really worked hard to have very large restaurants that serve delicious Thai food. It's conveniently located along East 14th in a strip mall with limited parking It can be a busy place so depending on the time of day lunch or dinner you may have to walk a little from your parking spot to the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and.older but the food is still great It is similar menu items to his other restaurants. On this particular day I had red curry chicken, I.have had it at all his restaurants and it's consistently good. I always like to support a locally owned business. Liam has developed quite a system and serving large amount of people at all his restaurants although the East 14th restaurants still has that old mom and pop kind of feel. When he first opened this first restaurant there were not that many Thai restaurants around town. Now he's open many himself and there are other many quality Thai food restaurants around town I think all of his restaurants have some healthier menu including fresh vegetable dishes. I believe they all have vegan dishes as well. Of course the restaurant has pot stickers basil stir fry, pad thai, and other traditional Thai restaurant dishes. There is lots of variety in the menu. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. Having said that the service was fast and efficient . It's also about being realistic about the food. The food was served quick and hot. I would definitely check this place out. If you're in the area it's well worth a visit It was fun to visit an old neighborhood friend

Vegan food really isn't my thing, 95% of the time I'm carnivore, but here we go... Lol I've eaten a little bit of vegan food over my lifetime. Mostly Indian, but a bit more that is out of the box. Gyro style sandwiches done with plant based proteins, etc... Vibrations Vegan Wellness Cafe set up in our break room today and I had the chance to try their food. I was going to take the safe way out and order the burger and one of my co-workers offered me a bit of their "fish". Heart of palm in a corn meal breading with a homemade tartar sauce and Frank's hot sauce. I had a short conversation with Mo (the owner). Very personable. Today it was just a one person operation and I didn't want to take up too much of their time. I ended ordering the "fish." it came with a side of greens and mac n cheese. If I had to compare it to something it would be similar to a mild white fish where it takes on more the flavor of the seasoning and the sauces used with it. The seasoning was on point and I really enjoyed this! It had a similar shape and look to fish so it's not much of a stretch. The heart of palm's texture is more stringy than flakey, but not that different. The greens were very good. I'm not sure what they are seasoned with, but they had a bit of a kick... With all transparency it was the mac n cheese I was dreading... Every vegan cheese I've ever tried didn't melt right and it was just off. This was not. I'd put this up against the mac n cheese at a lot of BBQ joints and I don't think you could tell the difference. Once again...very good. I don't think I'll ever be vegan by choice, but I'll tell you what... If something in my life/health ever makes that choice for me... If I could have vegan food that tasted this this it wouldn't be much of an issue. The fish was an off menu item that I see they serve fairly often from their Facebook page. I'm glad they brought it with them today! Hopefully Mo is able to come back, I can place an order with them, or I can find them serving at other locations, and I can try a few more of their menu items. I'm not sure if they have a true physical brick and mortar. It looks like they might operate out of a truck. Check out their Facebook page for better details than I can probably provide.
