We have purchased a Simplicity tractor from West Street Power with extra bits such as a blower and a mower. Overall, nearly ten thousand dollars in equipment. Additionally a canopy has been ordered for the tractor but due to it taking a decent while (backordered) to be delivered to the shop, it was canceled. When asked for a refund, the shop mentioned that it has to be processed through their bookkeeper. Alright. Nearly two weeks have passed and nothing has been done. We have called on a multitude of occasions to be either told that we will be contacted, which never occurred, or the call being rejected. Mr. Szymański (owner) seems to be avoiding us because we are proving problematic. Steve, the manager couldn't help and simply said he was new and doesn't know anything. So I asked him to contact the owner which he reluctantly did (texted him) and again, no response so far. Now I would gladly return all the equipment with a dollar amount being taken out of the refund to compensate for depreciation but Steve doesn't know anything about the policies. I did enter the shop and on a far post in the office amongst all hanging papers is a note which states "All payments or deposits on equipment or parts are non-refundable, be it in stock or special order." That doesn't seem to hold any legal weight. Bottom line, future customers beware. If you are purchasing something smaller or need parts that do not require any customer service from the shop's side, pay a bit of a premium and purchase. Service, they do good work but prices hover around a hundred dollar mark per hour on major equipment. I cannot be upset at that. Anything else, returns, warranties and defects, you will not have a good time. read more

This place is garbage. I took my uncles lawnmower there and they charged him out something astonishing for something so minor. Going here is like going to the dentist. You go in for one thing and you come out with a filling, braces and a bunch of nonsense you didn't go in for. read more

Incompetent staff combined with slow and poor service at extremely overpriced rates. There's no such thing as service here. They take months upon months to "repair" your equipment by completely tearing it apart before exclaiming it's "unfixable" or "not worth it" before trying to sell you on the latest and greatest of whatever you were trying to have repaired in the first place. Despite having lived in the area for many years, I'd never heard of this place. Now I know why. The delay in getting my lawn tractor back to me ("Lying is Our Most Important Service!") was matched only by their total incompetence in repairing it. They ignored the belching oil smoke (diagnosed later by an honest repair person as a broken piston ring and damaged cylinder - not repairable) and slapped on an oil and air filter. $231 for nothing. Stay away. Ask around and you will hear similar stories about this place. Tell your friends. If you must, pay with a credit card and dispute the disaster within 10 days with a letter from another repair facility. Which I failed to do, resulting in my loss. I just read the owner's response to my review, which indicates that lying continues to be a problem at West Street Power. Use this shop at your own risk. read more

The repair took 5 times longer than expected and Colin knew I needed it back right away and assured me that it would because the shop was slow. Never returned my calls, never provided me with an estimate, and when I got the bill like a month after the pick up my jaw dropped through the floor. The repair cost almost as much as the equipment was worth and I had to rent a replacement for 2 weeks on a 2 day job. Asked why it was so much I got one song and dance after another. Asked why it took so long just a bunch of patently dishonest answers., constantly changing his story. When confronted about all the issues he said "of my equipment wasn't such a piece of sh$% it wouldn't have taken so much." All the more reason he should have provided a quote. Very, very poor service and really bad attitude towards the customers and poor business practices. If I could give it a negative rating, it would be a -5. read more

I recently was considering upgrading my old Craftsman chain saw. After looking on line I made a visit to West Street Power. Jeff was working behind the counter and went out of his way to help me find the right saw - showing me everything from 'entry level' to high end commercial machines and describing the pros and cons of each one. Importantly, what he told me matched up pretty nicely with what I'd read about the various saws on the internet. There was no pressure to buy any particular saw, and in fact, no pressure to buy at all. I left for a few hours, checked out what was available on Amazon and at the local Home Depot, and a few hours later went back and bought my new saw at West Street. As I was settling up, I could hear my new saw being tested out back, and few minutes later Collin came up with my assembled and adjusted saw. He patiently and carefully went over all the controls and answered my questions. I spent the rest of the afternoon cutting stuff up. Good guys, a fair price, and a quality saw....I'd recommend these guys. read more

Outstanding customer service. I had a problem with my snowblower on a Friday. They picked up my machine that day, and repaired/returned it the following day, just in time for the next round of snow. This place was a life saver. After a major storm my chain saw died. I couldn't find another one that was a reasonable price anywhere. After checking the internet I discovered West Street Power. They had a full selection of chain saws and helped me pick an ideal size for my use. The chainsaw has worked like a champ and I've been back for chain sharpening and parts for my lawn tractor. They're easy to access, friendly, reasonably priced and helpful. I plan to shop there first for my future power equipment needs. read more
