Then a day later told me the machine is too large which is a lie since the guy on sire said the machine can go though the gate but no time since they need to go do another job. Gave different excuses later for not coming back and I am left with a huge stump sticking up 3 feet above ground. Very unhappy. Find a more reilable service.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused but I also understand that the job was significantly underbid. I would typically walk away from this job under any other circumstances but I think getting this done for you is the right thing to do. This job has to be completed the same time we are in the area. And currently in not sure when that will be but will let you know when I do. The other option is that you can 100% contract another company ti complete the job. Thought the service would be great. However, when I called to schedule the tree removal, it took me calling and leaving messages three times before I finally was able to schedule on my 4th call. No messages were ever returned. The day they came to remove the trees, I was told they'd have to return the next day to grind the stumps. No one returned the next day. When they finally called to schedule it, they gave me less than 24 hours notice and when I said that didn't work, they scheduled for the next week. Imagine my surprise when, I looked out my window as I was getting ready to leave for a scheduled event and I see a tree grinder ready to go to work on a day I told them not to come. My husband spoke to the employee who was not aware and did not have the tools to dig up the plants I had asked them to do so I could move them. My husband spoke with Alfredo who said the employee there to grind the stumps could possibly do it if we paid him $50 off the books (once again, digging up the plants was included in the original estimate). To top it all off, I received a call 4 hours after the grinding was finished to find out if the could come over the weekend to grind the stumps. There is a severe lack of communication between the various parts of this company, phone calls aren't returned and they don't communicate with the customer efficiently. I hired them based on my neighbors' recommendation and my initial contact. They will not receive my recommendation for anything nor will I ever hire them again.

There was a bit of an upfront delay as I waited to ensure their license was shown as active on the MD DNR website, but that is resolved now. Once past that, the work crew was out to my house within a day and they had the tree down and removed within about two hours. The stump grinder arrived an hour or so later and took care of all the stumps effectively. Benfield Tree Service's cost was competitive and the work was performed to my satisfaction so they'll be the first company I contact for similar jobs in the future and I recommend them.
