We've seen Dr. Kate twice for my toddler and she did a great job cleaning. thoroughly despite his tantrums. We also saw Dr. Paravani but she was not as thorough as she did not clean his molars. Right after our…read moredaughter's 1st birthday, we took her to West U Pediatric Dentistry for her first dentist appointment. We were expecting just an initial cleaning, counting teeth, etc etc but they caught us off guard when they told us she had a "very pronounced" lip and tongue tie and would need a procedure to correct both. They told us without this procedure, she would experience delays with speech and eating. They also said she would suffer breathing and orthodontic issues later in life. On top of this - they told us if we did not do this procedure within 2 months, she would have to be put under anesthesia for it since she would be too big to swaddle. We were given pricing and paperwork and told each procedure would be $1,500, more if we needed anesthesia. As you might imagine we were blindsided and our initial reaction was "we will do whatever it takes for our daughter", but felt uncomfortable with the entire visit so decided to discuss with our pediatrician first. Our wonderful pediatrician told us not to proceed with any procedures without a second opinion from a Texas Children's ENT. We scheduled with the ENT and saw her today. The doctor said her lip and tongue are both within the normal range and that we "shouldn't consider releasing either any time soon." She said there has been a national trend of overprescribing the procedure for lip and tongue release, and there is a national board that has now drafted protocols for when it actually needs to be done. She said our daughter doesn't meet those criteria by any stretch. She also asked how much the dentist was charging. When we told her $1,500, she said that was outrageous. She recommended we not respond to them and find another dentist, which we have already done. TLDR; get a second opinion and trust your instinct.

Despite that, they insisted on taking new X-rays. I later found out they were not covered by my insurance because they had been done too recently. To make matters worse, I was led to believe I was making a copay payment. It wasn't until I asked for a receipt that I discovered I had actually been charged for the X-rays. Had I known that was what I was paying for, I would have questioned it immediately. The office acknowledged that this was their mistake and assured me the charge would be refunded. Nearly two months later, I still have not received my refund. I've called about once a week to follow up, and every conversation has been disappointing. Diane either seems confused about why I'm calling or has the details of my case wrong. Most recently, she told me that my insurance company would be sending me a check instead of the office issuing a refund--which makes no sense since the charge resulted from the office's own error, not my insurance company's. It's incredibly frustrating to have an office admit they made a mistake but then delay resolving it for months while repeatedly acting as though they don't understand the situation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this office.

My first visit with…read morehim, he diagnosed a problem with my tooth that my other previous dentists had missed, possibly for years. This unfortunately led to needing the tooth to be removed, but he was able to guide me through the process and connect me with a wonderful oral surgeon. Throughout the process, it was evident that he was closely communicating with the offices of the various sub-specialists, coordinating my care, and probably spending time outside of his normal clinical hours to do so. Dr. Hassid has a very calm, patient bedside manner. He always takes the time to explain things, in clear, simple and easy-to-understand terms, and makes sure all my questions are answered. I can tell he really cares about his patients. His office staff are also all excellent - extremely courteous, accommodating, and professional. As an example, I had an appointment with him this morning. I received a phone call that one of the staff had called in sick, and my appointment would need to be rescheduled. However, very quickly, Dr. Hassid went ABOVE and BEYOND to accommodate me into his schedule today, so that I could still be seen. It definitely wasn't necessary but really showed the level of commitment Dr. Hassid and his team have toward their patients. I think I'll be a patient here for a very long time.

They were extremely thorough with my cleaning, and talked to me in-depth about the condition of my teeth based on various x-rays and photos: what I'm doing right, what I could improve upon, what I might be at risk for, and more. The dentist also talked me through what to look for when buying toothpaste and mouthwash, and provided scientific explanations for which products work best. The new patient/scheduling process is very smooth, as well. I simply filled out the new patient form online, got an email the next day from the office to schedule my appointment (which worked great for me, since I often can't take phone calls during the day), and was ready to go. Overall, I'm very impressed with the organization of the office and the kindness and consideration of each individual I interacted with! Definitely recommend.

She is very knowledgeable, very efficient, gentle, and does a fantastic job. Plus she lets you hold the suction thing when she needs 2 hands...FUN!!!! Dr. Palmer himself is an AWESOME dentist. My previous dentist tried about 5 crowns on me to fix a tooth. So it was the usual, grind, cap with a temp, send home, send off for the crown, wait 3 weeks, come back, get crown installed, break crown, then wash-rinse-repeat. Dr. Palmer takes a 3D image of your tooth and then fashions the crown ON SITE. Yup. No waiting. No coming back. He has this cool machine that 3D mills your crown THERE. I think I am 5 years in and still no problems with the crown. On top of that he is super nice and friendly. He really takes time to explain everything and is very personable. The hygienist was very thorough in taking x-rays, and taking pics of teeth, which I have never had pics taken before. The hygienist and doctor thoroughly explained the treatment plan. My only concern was that I was refused a general routine cleaning -- I felt so shortchanged with this visit. I felt that this dental visit was incomplete for me. I had gloved hands, instruments, and cotton in my mouth, and didn't even get a rinse after exam! I was told that I needed a deep clean (which cost hundreds of dollars), which I understand is the doctor's recommendation, but I would think that the patient could have a choice. From what I can remember most of my teeth did not need a deep clean as much as a few; but I still could not get routine clean. It would have been nice to have clean mouth until I could afford to get deep cleaning; but now I have to look for a dental group that can give me a cleaning without an exam. I guess this is a Houston thing--refusing general cleaning. This is the second dental group in Houston that did this (the first dental group the dentist said teeth were fine, but it was the hygienist who was pushing deep clean for $700+). The first time this happened, I had to fly out of town to go to my previous dentist that I regularly frequented in the past. Got a thoroughly cleaning which included scaling, polishing and flossing. I also received toothbrush to take home, which I did not receive from the Palmer dental office until I had to ask for one. Again, I feel so shortchanged.

After reading many reviews, I decided to give Dr. Morency's office a try. When I called, no one was available so I left a message and waited for a call back. My call was returned quickly and I scheduled my appointment with to come in. The lady that called me was very pleasant on the phone and answered all of my questions. On the day of the appointment, I was greeted at the front desk by the lady I had spoken to on the phone. She was equally friendly in person. She greeted me with a smile, collected my co-pay and let me know that the hygienist would be with me soon. After a quick wait time, I was retrieved from the lobby (which is beautiful btw) and taken back to a procedure room. I have periodontal disease and need to have cleanings done more often than most. After my previous bad experience, I waited a while before looking for a new dentist so I needed a major deep cleaning. After my teeth were examined, I was told that I needed a deep cleaning that would be a bit uncomfortable, so they would do it in two appointments. I appreciated that I wouldn't have to do it all at once. I had the first half done and scheduled to come back in a couple of weeks for the other part. The hygienist took her time with my teeth and made sure I was comfortable. She did a wonderful job explaining everything that she did. Dr. Morency was wonderful when he came in to say hello and numb my mouth. As a person that hates the dentist, this smooth experience is a blessing. It took me about 10 seconds to realize that something was wrong and me standing silently waiting was not it. I left. I mean! What have we come to?
