For anyone traveling to Bolivar Peninsula, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT rent a golf cart from WestCanal Beach Buggies of Crystal Beach . When our cart was delivered the front drivers wheel was leaning so bad and was going to fall off so we asked for a replacement as we had kids and didnt want to risk injury or being blamed for damage to the cart that was not our fault. The replacement literally had the same problem with the front passenger tire so at that point we just asked for a refund because again, we dont want to risk the tire falling off and being blamed for and charged for damaged that weren't our fault or an injury. I am finally receiving my money back, but they are not offering a full refund as "any reservation cancelled that is not prior to 24 hours forefeits 25% of rental". In what world does a company deliver something that is UNSAFE for a family to drive, the product gets immediately sent back and say we forefeit 25% of $560 because THEY cannot deliver a safe poduct?!? Update to add. They have blocked me from their Facebook after receiving this bad review directly to their page. They know for sure they're in the wrong in the way they run their business. read more

We had a really good experience with our rental. The process to rent was quick and easy. On our last day our cart wouldn't start so we called the after-hours number. They were extremely friendly and said someone would be right over. They showed in less than 30 minutes and swapped our cart. It made our time at the beach much more enjoyable! We will rent from them again! They are getting all 5 stars because they were so fast on swapping out the cart! read more

Horrible customer service. Cart broke down and stranded wife and friend on the beach for three hours waiting for a cart exchange. They brought out a dirty cart with torn seats. Finally exchanged it the next day When we contacted them about the inconvenience they threaten to charge additional cost stating we damage they engine. DON'T USE THEM 1 Star is too many. read more

Golf cart broke down an hour ago, despite calling several times we cannot even get a time that they will come swap out the cart. The mechanic came by and told us it was the carborator... we've been here so long he has passed by twice.... she said their driver is going as fast as possible and we cannot leave the golf cart (that we rented thinking it'd work) she was rude and very unapologetic nor did she give us a time or why one of them couldn't wait with the broken cart instead of us with toddlers. We have been here for over an hour, called at least 4 times. I'm pregnant have to use the bathroom, we haven't eaten, and we have no food or water. These people are liars and theives. Do not use a debit or credit card payment with them. They will go back into your account and steal money out of it. $1500 was taking out of my account after my rental agreement was completed. I called the local Sheriff department and after they were advised to refund the $1500, once I returned home and checked my account, they fraudulently took out $1000. I advise no one to rent anything from West Canal Beach Buggies. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Their buggies are rusted old junk and when the buggie broke down on us just three hours after drop off they left us stranded on the beach in the middle of the night. The boys picking up the buggie wouldn't respond to us when treated. When we asked if they where really going to make us walk three miles in the dark all we got was a shoulder shrug. I have an auto-immune Disease that causes extreme inflammation when I move to much. I also fell and injured myself on the walk home. When we went to ask for a refund the next and the lady was confronted with her and her employees negligence and disrespect. She didn't care about my injuries and was extremely rude and cussed at us. She claimed we threatened her son with a gun. You mean our toy gel blaster? If that was even remotely true she would have called the cops that night. ​ read more

They dropped off and picked up our golf cart. Great pricing and fun ride. There were issues with the lights on the cart, they were not very good and made it hard to drive at night. The cart was not as fast or new as some of the other carts on the beach but it was just what we needed and what you get at a great price point. We would use them again. read more

1. Their cart broke down on us last year for 3 hours with no reimbursement. 2. Their cart broke down on us this year for 19.5 hours of a 48 hour rental with no reimbursement again. 3. We did damage a plastic piece on accident that my father who sells gold carts says is a $14.95 piece. They verbally told us when they picked up the cart that it would be a $100 charge. This was a lie, they charged our card $160. 4. I have emailed once and called three times with a voicemail and they will not respond to anything. Very very unprofessional business and obviously junk carts. Please spend a little more money on your rental with ANY other company and cut out any issues on your vacation. Then after my review on Facebook, who I'm guessing is the owner said to call him and proceeded to cuss me. read more

I was so impressed with my two rentals. They were high quality and ran very well. Both were durable and the gas is sooo great. We used them for a week and did not need to refill the tank. I would recommend to anyone!!!! They have several locations and easy to rent from. I even go to talk to the owners and they were super nice and accommodating! read more

Make sure you take video and photos of your golf cart before renting from them or they'll charge your credit card without notifying you for scratches and dents that you didn't leave. The owner is very disrespectful, take your business elsewhere. read more
