I made an appointment seeking relief from a bout of searing lower back and upper leg pain. The appointment process was friendly, efficient and got me in right away. The two stars are recognition for the ease of appointment and the friendliness of the staff. I quickly realized this practice isn't for me. 3 reasons: 1) being repeatedly addressed as "my man" - I do have a name, I do have a chart. 2) an absolute insistence on attending a group orientation session as a requirement for further treatment. Purpose was described as an orientation to chiropractic AND a 1-on-1 discussion of the expected financial commitment. Plus I was told my spouse is required to attend - so that there would be no financial surprises about the cost. They are looking for a major long-term financial commitment - not a treatment plan. 3) announcements over a loudspeaker directing patients to numbered treatment rooms. Does it really need to be that impersonal? For some this may be a perfect practice. For me I'll try somewhere else. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Sosa since I moved to Tampa 6 years ago. I was diagnosed with scoliosis 15 years ago, and have always followed a regular chiropractic care plan with much success. I was living across the street when I found Dr Sosa, but even after moving farther away, I still make it out to Westchase for my weekly appointments. I was initially impressed with the office technology- you swipe your patient card, and a computer calls your name and tells you which room to go into. Also, all your xrays are digital and connected to your card. However- this in NO WAY replaces the friendliness of the staff and doctors. They always greet you when you walk in and make you feel welcome for your entire visit. Dr. Sosa & Dr. Serrano (who joined the practice a couple years ago), are always so happy, and seem to take a genuine interest in every patient's life. Pictures of patients and children fill the walls in the treatment rooms. Dr Sosa & Serrano always take the time to explain what they are doing and answer any questions you might have. My company changed insurance a few years ago- and Westchase Chiropractic was not in network. But, the office worked with me to implement a very reasonable and fair cash payment plan. I have a friend from Jacksonville who sees Dr. Sosa every time she's in town- as she has yet to find a chiropractor up there that she likes as much. She just had a baby girl, and can't wait to bring her for her first adjustment as well. Sidenote: The hours are a little odd- they are open in the mornings (7-10am) and afternoon (3-6pm)....and I believe they only accept new patients on certain days. So just be aware of that- if you don't have a typical 9-5 work schedule, appointments can get tricky. read more

I absolutely love going to this chiropractic office. I have visited a total of three chiropractors in my life: the other two were one visit and no return visit. I feel Westchase Chiropractic did an amazing job at my first visit, and even better at the educational process before simply trying to take my money. Of course, chiropractic care can be costly, but I feel the amount I am paying for the plan, care, customer service, etc. that I receive is well worth it and very, very reasonable. For insurance companies that don't cover chiropractic care, they even make an effort to have it as a more affordable option in their care plan. Plus, it provides any necessary equipment for any home exercises that are a part of my treatment and care plan. This office is always busy, but their system in place still gets patients in and out in a timely fashion. They are very flexible with scheduling as well, which is helpful for those of us with busy schedules. Surprisingly, the staff actually knows my name and addresses me, by name, every time I go in. I highly recommend Westchase Chiropractic to those looking and even those who aren't. I was involved in a car accident late January of 2014. I was injured and I didn't feel neck and back pain until a few days later. Westchase Chiropractic was right across the street from where I lived so I thought it convenient to go there since my car was totaled and the insurance company had yet to provide me with a rental vehicle. I had never been to a chiropractor prior to this so I have no experience to compare to. However, I was greatly pleased to see that they had a full health plan that is rolled out to you the moment you walk in. They orientate you about your lifestyle and diet, and the benefits of chiropractic. I was impressed! After orientation they go over your X-Rays and then do a small gentle adjustment. Currently Dr. Sosa, Dr. Serrano, and Dr. H are working here, but I received notice a few weeks ago that our beloved Dr. Serrano will be leaving to open a location in Palm Harbor. Each doctor is very friendly and personable, and always concerned about your well being. I was also able to talk to an in-house nutritionist who made sure I was getting enough protein and raw veggies. I am already food-conscious so that wasn't a large hurtle for me. Westchase Chiropractic has a lot of community events as well, that others can attend for free. They give out free information about health, nutrition, and chiropractic care. Lastly, what's unique here is their office setup. It's automated! There is no signing in with a pen and pad at the front desk and waiting around. I come in, swipe my card at the front desk, go straight to the exercise room and perform my exercises prior to my adjustment. From here I sit down and continue my back stretching exercises until my name is called from the computer to go into a room. Once I go into an adjustment room, I again swipe my ID card on the computer located there, which pops up my X-Rays that I took there in-house. From here I relax on the table and wait for one of the doctors to adjust me. Afterwards, I go back to the exercise room, complete my last exercise, and leave the office. They bill you monthly so there is no bad wait time or delays. There are always people at the front-desk however, and they are very friendly when you walk in or out. I was in the market for a new Chiropractor and needed some immediate relief from my pain. I scheduled the initial appointment and made a significant financial investment in x-rays and the first consultative visit. In order to receive treatment I had to go to "spinal school" and then be subjected to a high pressure sales tactic to purchase the "Total Wellness Package" that was over and above the copay requirements of my insurance. If I paid in full immediately I would receive a discount but if I wanted to pay per visit as I go, it was significantly more than my copay. I should have been told upfront, before I paid out any money, how the services worked at this office. Shame on this health care provider, I felt like they were taking advantage of people in pain in order to get a buy in for the whole package.
