Something has clearly gone downhill with Westchester Memorials The process of getting the headstone and engraving was fine when my mother passed away. Now that my dad has passed we just need the date of death added. We've been waiting for almost six months and nothing has happened. And, of course, they have our money. read more

We paid for our grandpa's headstone since early March 2021. Provided every requirements and have been told that it would take 14-16 weeks. Now at the end of June, we should already have the headstone. Yet, they keep saying they don't receive this and that. Emailed them but no response. The contact person is Joe, and keeps postponing their delivery without giving any solid reasons. Never do the business with them. read more

Wish I could give them zero stars. We ordered a stone for my father and the entire process was marked by their lack of response and ineptitude. My father passed away September 2020 and we ordered his memorial stone on January 2021 with the guarantee that it would be ready in September in time for the unveiling. A few days after our initial order, we wanted to add his middle initial and contacted Westchester Memorial immediately, signing the necessary forms. After months of not hearing back as to the status, we contacted them in July, leaving several phone messages. It was not until I tried calling on "new sales" rather than existing sales line, that Ray, sensing a new sale, called me back. And so in July, seven months after our initial order, Ray said that we needed to sign additional paperwork attesting to this long requested and confirmed change/addition. With him still on the phone, we signed the paperwork, scanned and emailed it and that afternoon, snail mailed it. We also confirmed with Ray that he received the email and would be expecting to receive the snail mail in a few days. No word back until we called in September to find out that their office is saying they never received the snail mail copy. Why not contact us in early August if they didn't receive and they still needed it? Why has it been up to us to get this project moving along? The stone was finally delivered late - too late for us to meet our religious requirements. The entire experience has been unsatisfactory, inept and unnecessarily cruel. Such poor service at a time of grieving for a parent should be actionable. Unfortunately the best I can do is spread the word. I wish I had read the reviews at the time. read more

My mother passed away and she had paid close to 5K for her headstone over 7 years ago. When it can time to put day of death on the tombstone we were told by Ray; we needed to provide proof of payment. They would not provide a copy of the contract. Stay far away from this business; take your business elsewhere; I will not be using them For any further services. They could have had a significant job to do; but I would not hire them to do anything further. read more

I would not give them a single star but I am required to in order to post this. I cried for almost a year trying to get my husbands headstone delivered. When they gave me an amateurish design with no style or finesse I should have gotten a refund and started all over. I gave them the exact design from a stone 5 graves over and they still got it wrong. Six months after they put it in I'm still waiting for a call to meet them at the gravesite to show them what's wrong. They are the worst. No one should ever give them a cent. I cry every time I see the stone. I should be crying for my loss, not the despicably poorly carved stone. And the stone is second rate too. The granite has pits in it. Ray is particularly nasty and made it clear I was not a concern. I'm guessing since they already had their money. Run to any other company. read more

I used to engrave my parents tombstone when my dad passed. Very professional & quick inscription . Would recommend.

Do not just walk away from this place run .So my complaint isn't so much as to how long it took for them to add my mothers name to the stone and that's probably due to me staying on them . But the responsiveness to calls and emails is non existent. First I had to insist to have a sketch sent to me to insure proper spelling I was told they didn't really do that . So iam suppose to just go with the hope they didn't make a mistake not.Any place I dealt with automatically sent one for my ok. Any phone calls emails went unanswered. Finally did what someone else did was go under new service to get someone to ans .Also paid for cleaning of stone which Ray said would be done this spring since my mother's name was finished in Dec. Started to call and email again to make sure it would be done and again no ans.So I had to do the same as last time. After speaking to office and girl saying she had the jobs on her desk but would speak to Ray. I get a call back 5 mins later saying it was done last week. So can I trust this probably not which is sad.So I'll go on to the cemetery to double ck since I no longer live in NY it's not a easy task. And if it's not done I will be contacting the Attorney Generals Office. I hope iam wrong but it's not a good feeling when dealing with the death of a parent to have to go thru this. read more

Working with Joe from Westchester Memorials was a great experience. He was very kind, sympathetic and considerate of my circumstances. Joe called me when the stone came into the office as well as when it was put in at the gravesite. The stone is absolutely beautiful and is expertly crafted. This has been the ABSOLUTE WORST decision that my family and I have made in our lives! We lost a loved one and decided to go with Westchester Memorials for the headstone. The funeral was July of 2017, and here we are in April of 2018 (9) MONTHS later and the headstone is STILL sitting on the property, instead of being put in the ground across the street at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. To make matters worse, the owner had ABSOLUTELY no idea why the stone hadn't been placed yet still we paid in full for the service to be done in July of 2017 because we wanted it to go in the ground before winter had hit, which we were told they wouldn't be able to put the stone in the ground after October/November. He wasn't willing to even appease us and have his men come in on a Saturday which he said wasn't a normal business day for them, but c'mon if you "dropped the ball" I would think that you'd do whatever it takes to right a wrong that was CLEARLY your fault! We as a family will NEVER in life do business with them again!!! They basically just took our money and left our loved one out to dry! SHAME ON YOU! read more
