This is for RICARDO/Richard & Leo who provided excellent customer service! There was an emergency shutdown in our neighborhood today. :( my family and I were starting to panic. No toilet. No handwashing....so difficult for senior citizens! We passed by the "water station" and met the WMWD team. There were 2guys: RICHARD & LEO Incredibly helpful, they took it upon themselves to fill up 5-gallon buckets of water and gave them out to residents who were passing by. As a resident with my parents (senior citizens) living with us, I completely appreciated this effort. Not only did they give 2packs of drinking water for each household, but they actually went down a couple of streets to give the people they saw buckets of water for their toilets and sink/washing needs. It was so needed!! :) They were both polite and thoughtful; RICHARD & LEO had amazing customer service! Please email : CustomerService@wmwd.com And tell them how helpful these guys are. They took the initiative to get the 5-gallon buckets from Lowes, fill them up with water and hand-deliver them out to the residents. Talk about SERVING THE COMMUNITY Kudos to Richard/Ricardo and Leo! Tells you to call back if you need help then gets pissy when you call back for help. The gentleman answering the phones needs more customer assistance training. He is just plain rude, I've had issues with his attitude on several occasions. Fanny is a peach though, the only helpful person working there. Thank goodness for Fanny. read more

I called WMW cause i Was having water pressure issues they immediately sent someone out. Ricardo informed me that my water pressure regulator needed replacement. Ricardo was friendly, prompt, professional and beyond helpful. He told me what part i needed, where I could obtain it and an approximate price. He gave me lots of helpful tips. He showed me how to turn off the water. He also helped me diagnose a leak I was having and determined it was an irrigation leak and told me everything I needed to know to fix the problem. And how to shut off the water. He saved the day. I can't say enough good things about Ricardo. read more

I have been using their water services for over 10 years. Recently I moved and was required to put a deposit which didn't make any sense and gave me the option of having my account on autopay. After it was on autopay, my checking account was charged twice, which means I overpaid. I requested my over pay returned to my account the first time and the second time they charged me a return fee as a though I wrote a returned check. I explained to them my bill was paid already and I shouldn't have to pay twice. Apparently, it didn't matter and now I am required to pay a deposit of 250 plus 25 dollars for a return check fee. My bank had stated that I was charged twice and didn't see any reason why I shouldn't have had my money returned if I already paid my bill the first time. I also received a letter stating my account is on a cash only basis, which is odd since I never wrote a check in the first place. This organization is run by crooks and I'm not even sure if the general manager knows what is even going on. I would like to seek a lawyer and make a public lawsuit for all that has been happening within our community, including the overcharges on our water read more

Try to not work with them. Terrible company and service. A literal monopoly. They charge you a $60 service fee just to be hooked up.. Horrible. Dig your own well. You'll be better off. read more

I'd give them ZERO stars. This water district is constantly raising rates, knowing that we have no other options to switch to another water company. It's disappointing to live in the city of Riverside, but I can't get city of Riverside water, who's rates and fee's are about 4x lower that WMWD. I literally use $5 worth of water for the month, yet my bill with all their "fee's" is $55... a scam. They just voted to raise our rates yet again in July 2021 and every year for the next four years. WMWD is the 2nd most expensive water district in Southern California, just under the corrupt DWP in Los Angeles. CORRUPT. read more

I would give this utility company ZERO star!!! I wrote a complaint to California PUC focusing on 3 complaints: 1/ WMWD increasing the water rates and service charges few times per year. 2/ They manage Tier by comparing the water usage of a same month in previous year. When Gov. Jerry Brown was calling for saving water, I cut down water usage, then next year my water usage is on Tier4 because comparing to same month in previous year I use too much water. Same situation, when there is more rain, I cut down water and then I will pay my bill on higher Tier next year. Some situation, when you are on vacation... 3/ I showed WMWD the study from USGS.gov water usage estimation. The USGS estimates one person using water from 80-100 gallons per day. WMWD give us 50 gallons per day. The 50 gallons allowance is your water usage on Tier1. If you use more than 50 gallons per day, your water usage will go to higher Tier. This company keeps raising rates. We have the highest wastewater service rate in Riverside County. I am going to get the media involved!!! read more

Worst company I've ever had to deal with. They really take advantage of their monopoly. It's a damn shame. New home owner and They wouldn't turn my water on til after hours just to charge me an extra $75. Then they charge 35 dollars just to have a meter. That means that my bill will never be under $35 even WITHOUT using ANY water. read more

My average bill is ~ $80. I had a water heater leak and sprinkler leak, that bill was $175. I understand this, the next month it was back to normal. Now, 2 months after the leak my bill is $330! WTF?!? I checked the water meter and verified no leak, the meter read zero, so no leak. Again, WTF!?! What a scam!! They suck! read more

Again, like the other reviews I have no choice of who I get water from. My last bill was $98 and only $8.00 and change was actually water! I paid the bill by check, they cashed it and it was not credited to my account. Then I received multiple calls that my bill had not been paid. This is the most unfriendly utility Co. ever to work with. Problem after problem. Their systems must be very antiquated. Their policies very unfriendly to customers. Bought new property, switched into my name, they have all these tiers of pricing but they don't tell you that when you sign up with them. So its customer beware when you get your bill and see they have put this tiny amount of your bill on tier 1 and the balance on tier 2 at much higher rate. On the bill shows number of people and amount of area landscaped. However if the information is drastically incorrect they take no responsibility even though they donot inform you when you change services. The second problem ran into was I rented out the property, they went to change into their name, could not because they were told their was an old tenant balance. I called to see what was going on. They tried to tell me I had a previous tenant in there and that they had a remaining bill. I said impossible I just bought it and rented it out. Then they change their tune and say it was the previous owner. I said what do I have to do with that? This has now gone on for two weeks next my tenant tries to switch service into their name again. They now say they need to send in their lease agreement with all their personal information. (this is just wrong) Then I ask you will prorate the bill back to when tenants moved in? The answer no they cannnot do that. If I could give no stars it would reflect my views of this company. What a shame in America we do not have more than one choice in an area for a utility. What is wrong with this picture. I guess you can afford to be smug and uncooperative when your the only one. Need overhaul read more

WMWD is nothing but a bunch of criminals. i was unable to make a payment because of their systems being down, so now they turned off the water to my house where children live at. They want me to pay over 500 dollars to turn it on wtf is that shit my bill wasn't even pass 150 and they want me to pay that much. I see how they treat military veterans and when i tried to talk to them to work out a deal cause i wont get paid till next Monday and they basically told me to go fuck myself. Hello, if you plan to move to riverside please understand that this water company is one expensive company . For example most water companies don't charge a "waste water fee" but here you pay a nice daily waste water fee of about 1.75-2.00 dollars a day. It's not based on any real calculation on your water bill but simply charged to you regardless of water used, in addition the rates on water is very expensive. I can't even water my lawn anymore because my average monthly bill is $150.00 dollars a month and I hardy use any water. Riverside please take over my water and cut this company lose! read more

An absolute nightmare to deal with. Had to jump through hoops to even get the water bill in my name. Thought it was in my wife's name after sending a copy of the lease agreement over and calling several times but it was never switched. Had to re-send the lease agreement because apparently it wasn't good enough the first time. If only there was another company to give my business to. Every other utility was very easy to switch into my name. As much as they charge you would think they would want people to switch to their company. When I'm ready to buy a house I will definitely pay attention to who handles the water bill. Would feel much better if it were a different company. read more

Just tried to establish service and when they did a "soft" credit check, determined that I needed to pay a $490 deposit. I have excellent credit. First impression is they're dishonest thieves. Next stop CPUC and BBB. read more
