I was so incredibly disappointed with how I was treated from the moment I stepped in the door to walking out after being asked to re-schedule for being 10 minutes late to see Gina Edison (whom is not even a doctor there, but a nurse practitioner). This was my first appointment to see Gina Edison for a full three-year check-up and we had scheduled a mammogram to be done the next day (so she could give areas of recommendation for focus, if needed). I did arrive 10 minutes late (it was a 50 minute drive from my work place in downtown Minneapolis to Waconia), and having not done the drive before, I underestimated how long it can take when just on two way roadways. After apologizing, the receptionist called back to see if Gina would still see me and I was informed that I would have to re-schedule. I couldn't believe it. I asked if anyone else was available, as I am not impartial to having to see Gina, and I was told, "no". This meant I would also have to reschedule my mammogram the next day as well. (after taking this time off from work, I was, needless to say... irritated). Obviously, I did not choose to reschedule with Gina Edison, or with Western ob/gyn.
It had been over 20 years since I saw anyone from these offices, and they have certainly changed their attitude(s). My Obstetrician from Western ob/gyn, 20 years ago, delivered three of my four children and had the best bed-side manner ever. We laughed, were flexible with one another, and it was a time when the client/patient was #1. This has obviously changed, and the client/patient is no longer #1 in their eyes. I will be hunting elsewhere and have already encouraged my two girlfriends (whom recommended Gina) to do the same. It's unfortunate. read more
