Have only been by once but it was a very nice area to explore. Lots of birds (woodpeckers,…read moreflickers, kinglets, turkey vultures, and the most concentrated amount of spotted towhees I've seen) but it seems I missed the salmon run which brings even more wildlife activity. Trails were mowed paths that were nice and wide. A good variety of trees led to some beautiful fall colors. I have family in the Cottonwood area so this is a short drive away. Very tranquil and quiet. Not sure how much activity it gets but I'll be coming back for sure :). Also, I didn't look for the official rules but I saw someone with a dog and it looks like a good place to walk your dog so long as their quiet and don't disturb the wildlife ;)

Not high fence and you will usually put some boots to the ground which to me makes the hunt an experience to be remembered. Went out with handler and her German short haired pointer. Nova. Jen the guide . Handler was the best. She was a great teacher/mentor to the young boys.even suggested some tips for next time taking boys out with BB guns. And learning gun safety in the field. Top notch place. Shocked by the question and pre-emptive accusations we reminded him that he's the one that asked the question and we hadn't even suggested such a thing. He had some unnecessary choice words for us and walked away. If you're an out of towner, I'd suggest you pick a different business. I never thought he was cheating but after that exchange his behavior assured me that something was not right.

I had made a deposit for a blind seat at Natomas Levee Rd/Fifield with the intention of hunting the 23/24 season. Unfortunately, I was beset with a life threatening health issue and couldn't make hunting work with a colostomy bag inside my waders. I made it known to Bruce, our contact with Golden Ram, that I couldn't make the commitment, so I contacted my blind partner, and he said he would take my seat. I then contacted Bruce, with plenty of notice, to let him know I filled my spot, and Bruce assured me in a text message that I would get my deposit in the amount of $584 back. Nick (pres. at Golden Ram), also agreed with me that my deposit should be returned. Over a year later, no refund, and nothing but crickets. Think twice before spending your money at Golden Ram...buyer beware!

There are no guarantees in hunting so it's about putting time in on the ranch and getting away from the main roads by hiking. I'm not sure what these complainers are whining about because there is no favoritism that I've seen in 12 years. The complaint about getting kicked out of a blind is completely false. We've hunted an executive blind and know exactly where this guy hunted. They were just bad duck hunters and made the experience bad for everyone else. All the surrounding blinds in the area are glad they are kicked out.

The owner, Donna, is very friendly and welcoming to newcomers, and seems to be a good friend of everybody there. Raahauge's has a very family-like atmosphere that is a marked contrast to other sporting clubs in the area. I don't hunt so I can't comment on the hunting except to say that this is where I would hunt for chukars or pheasants. I almost forgot to mention the prices, which are good. If you are interested in shoot clay targets or hunting, give this place a try. I can't see you being disappointed.
