I dropped off the truck and I left it for the oil change and check over the car. I get a call in about an hour your car is done. Some recommendations but nothing they can do today. Ok. I go to pick it up. They recommends, filters.... vague but ok, tires an alignment; and wipers. How long before I need tires, he wasn't sure he had to go look. The mechanic made the note. Ok but how about share that note with me. Hundred miles, thousand miles, thousands of miles, which is it? I asked what about coolant. The vehicle is 11 yrs old, bought it used. They said they just topped it off. Didn't really look at it. Ok how about the diff fluid, they need to take the plug out to check it. Ok... did you drive it, is it making noise? I wanted them to double check me not sure I'm hearing diff noise or tire noise. No they didn't drive it. Ok how's the trans fluid. They didn't check it. Then I asked did you grease the fittings on the drive shaft or joints, No again. Even though my receipt says grease as one of the parts. They had an opportunity today to upsell me on a bunch of things if my truck needed it, but they didn't even bother to check the truck throughly. I feel like I just went to a Jiffy Lube, no offense to Jiffy Lube bc they actually pull my filters and show me which ones they're trying to sell me. We have used them before and they were good. I wonder what else has been missed on my other car that we bring there. Really disappointed in Carmines. It's hard to find people to do a good job these days or who want to work. This was my experience.

I ended up changing the transmission cooler because I noticed it only struggled to get in gear when hot. Anyways two years later same Jeep Grand Cherokee with the same trans and it shifts perfect and is still going. Maybe it was an honest mistake, what annoys me more is they performed a trans service without my permission, and when they did they striped 3 of the bolts on the pan, I am sure they used an impact gun. The pan leaks now. I don't live in NJ anymore, but I know the shop as it has been there for years. I just wanted to take the time out to write this as I thought it could be useful to others looking to get a diagnosis.

Pretty decent experience here--had an issue with my car stalling, and they took a look at and…read morereplaced my battery, which I expected and was at what I'd consider a standard or reasonable price --not an amazing deal, but not a ripoff--fair price for work done. They did further recommend that I replace my tires--I can't tell if that was upselling or legit--I had a recall and asked the dealer to take a look; they said I should replace them relatively soon but that also it could wait a bit. The other thing I found irksome was that I got a parking ticket notice in the mail a few weeks after the battery replacement that was clearly received while the car was here and parked on their block. I will say to their credit that they acknowledged it right away and paid it without fuss (or to be specific, reimbursed me, as by the time I received the notice the ticket was close to overdue, forcing me to pay it immediately online), but I still found it to be a nuisance. Whether the ticket was a rare occurrence for them or just a built-in expected cost for parking on city streets, I feel like they should have been aware and paid the ticket without my having to get the notice and call them to deal with it, wait to be reimbursed, etc. They did follow up a couple of times to ask if repairs were acceptable and car was running well. So I'm legitimately torn. Many positives here--it feels hard to find an honest and efficient mechanic--I will probably return the next time I have an issue, but I wouldn't say I'm fully devoted yet, as one would like to be for their car repair, and would pause and consider another option if I can find a better local rec.

Very reasonably priced. Also turn around time is a lot quicker. I asked for the car in the afternoon but it was ready before lunch. Seems to be more accessible/ less corporate than American tire and other chains. When I went to pick up the car, Mike was occupied but the guy at the counter told me I could go talk to him if I had any questions about the work.
