Pomeroy's is a part of Livingston's history. I love the shop, i learned it used to be a carwash decades ago, literally, last century!! Walking in, my jaw dropped. They have the most beautiful classic pickup truck, and just behind that was another classic car, I'm not sure what kind but it was very cool! I wanted to sit in both!! Rick and Anthony are not only highly-experienced, top-notch mechanics, they are also genuinely friendly and honest. We have always been happy with the service we have received here which is why we have been taking our family's cars to Pomeroy's for many, many years. Their prices are fair and they use high quality components. They love cars and I enjoy seeing their beautiful, restored, 1950s Ford pickup truck when I visit. They work on all types of cars. We have Toyotas, but I've also seen Volvos, Mercedes-Benz, American domestic brands and many other Asian and European car brands in their shop. I once noticed a collection of several historic Corvettes from a local collector lined up for service at their place. These guys are really good. Excellent mechanics, friendly and honest. I've been to this shop for oil changes couple of times and they seemed to do okay. Recently my 2012 Lexus SUV was leaking coolant fluid so I took it to them for repair. They charged me ~$1,200 for replacing the radiator and two hoses. I found out transmission fluid leaking after the repair. Another mechanic who did the brake jobs on this SUV checked it, told me that the leaking was from the transmission adaptor that is part of the radiator. This shop used a bad quality radiator that didn't fit properly but charged me $350. They failed to install it properly but still returned the vehicle to me. They also failed to connect the fog light wire back after replacing the radiator. I took the vehicle back to them to check the transmission fluid leak. At first the mechanic Anthony was mad and rude, telling me to go back to the other mechanic to repair it. The shop owner agreed to check it for me. They found the leak was indeed from the radiator and tried to stop the leak but failed again. They kept saying the radiator they just replaced was not good but they somehow still tried to make it work. I finally lost confidence in their capability and intention to do proper repair. I demanded some refund back so I could take the vehicle to other mechanic to repair it. They agreed to refund me the labor and radiator cost, minus the costs of other smaller parts. But they intentionally damaged my vehicle by prying the front bumper cover out with a screwdriver. Now the front bumper cover is ajar. I confronted them with this issue and of course they denied it. Stay away from this business. They are criminals and scammers. read more

lucy - [ very sad to tell you this truth about my experience with this situation ] Two weeks ago, dropped off my car to the Pomeroy's garage to repair . The shop owner Rick told me that radiator is not working and needs to replace a new one, and he quoted $1200 for repair. (finally, he charged $1299) unfortunately, the next day I took my vehicle back and saw some fluid on my driveway from my car. But I kept driving without noticing the vehicle's transmission was damaged for two weeks. Luckily, Two days ago, I dropped off my vehicle to another shop to replace my brake pad and rotors, another mechanic found out the transmission fluid was leaking too much, they told me the radiator was bad quality , didn't fit the adapter . I was very very disappointed with the Pomeroy's mechanic who did a lousy repair job. They messed up my vehicle. I dropped off my vehicle to the Pomeroy's garage and told them the other mechanic found out transmission fluid was leaking nicely and politely. Suddenly The mechanic was aggressively shouting at me: "Why you didn't ask another mechanic to repair the damage" and the shop owner named Rick said:" Oh because they don't want to pay them" - their conversation was ridiculous, I talked to them: "I paid you $12999 to replace my vehicle radiator, but you used a bad quality radiator to install my vehicle, now you asked me to pay extra money to ask someone to repair my car again That's ridiculous. how come you asked me to check it ? Your mechanic should double-check the vehicle is finally done before you return it to the customer. You yelled at me to ask someone to fix his lousy repair job. He asked me to dropped off my vehicle at his shop for two weeks because it is the holiday season they don't have any time to repair it. I strongly told him on the phone not to jack lift my vehicle without my permission, when I arrived at the shop, I saw my vehicle was jacked lift. I asked him to take the car down but he did not know how to get the vehicle down . Next day morning, I went to take my vehicle and found my driver's side bumper was broken, someone deliberately used a screwdriver to pry up my vehicle's driver-side bumper next to the left light. My vehicle was in very nice condition before I left his shop overnight. I talked to the shop owner about the damaged bumper, he pretended that he did not know what was going on. I showed him the new damage on my vehicle bumper. However, he was yelling at me saying not his fault, he did not know what happened. he crazy shouted at me go take your vehicle and get out, don't stay on my property. He made me feel sick and unacceptable. He did not realize he was very rude and had a bad attitude in front of the customer. Finally, I decided to call the police to come over and report him. I talked to a police officer about the incident and he suggested I go to the court to file a report to this shop owner. The Pomeroy garage did mess up my vehicle, his mechanic very rude and aggressive to customers and used screwdriver to pry up my vehicleBumper . He Mess up my vehicle transmission damaged. They are scam to the customer, not professional. They charge the price overpriced, hypocrite and liar. Don't go again. read more

That's what's just great about Pomeroy's. When they tell me what my car needs, I never have the sense that they're adding extra stuff - just able, honest good guys at a family operation of the sort that is disappearing quickly. read more

I was just cleaning out my car prior to selling it and I came across the flyer from years ago when it was this garage's 70th year in business! Seriously, the fact that these guys are still doing a brisk honest business is no accident. They are simply some of the nicest most trustworthy and knowledgeable mechanics around. Unfortunately we have relocated to Maryland and I am still regretful that we can no longer deal with the Pomeroys. If you want the best service for your vehicles, then use them! They are that good. Pretends to be honest, they aren't. The WORST repair place ever took my car to. Incomplete brake repair and caused an accident I got stuck up paying for. Others I know had similar experiences. Tehy think if they give u your $ back it solves everything. Don't stand behind their work . Why go here when thre are so many good garages nearby - stay away.
