I booked a two-night stay at Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo for a school trip for my 7-year-old son. One week before check-in, I received an email saying the resort could not honor the reservation and it was cancelled. No explanation. No solution. Just cancelled. What followed has been an absolute nightmare. I spent hours on the phone with trying to get this resolved, and the only thing they offered was a $50 credit -- which is frankly insulting considering the time, stress, and last-minute scramble this created for a trip involving a child's school event. The resort has been completely unhelpful and their customer service is terrible. If a reservation can simply be cancelled a week before a stay with no meaningful support, then their platform is unreliable and not worth using. I have also spent days trying to work directly with the resort to fix the situation, making multiple phone calls and still not receiving a clear resolution. For something that should have been a simple reservation, this has turned into an exhausting and frustrating ordeal. Families plan trips months in advance. Cancelling a reservation a week before arrival with no real assistance is unacceptable. Between lack of support and the resort's inability to resolve the issue promptly, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. I will never book through Expedia again, and I would strongly recommend others think twice before relying on them for important travel plans. read more

We had a terrible stay, it is in the middle of nowhere so you have to stay in the hotel the whole time. Activities are closed early on weekdays and nothing else to do after. We had a water boil notice on one of the days. Rooms are below average for a 3 star hotel. All paid activities prices are very inflated. Pool was closed during scheduled open hours for no reason. This is One Beautiful Ranch in Lovely Polk County Florida!!! Our stay was 4/24/25-4/28/25 Secured Property! Multiple Security vehicles and officers on patrol and checking the many venues and sites. Felt secure and I didn't witness anything suspicious or loud. People were respectful of surroundings which was enjoyable by many! Property (1800 acres), was clean and expansive! Split rail fence that goes on for miles with Bison, Cattle, Steers, Horses and many other Ranch animals. Property has an Airport, Ownership Options for Cabins, Camping for Class A, B & C RV's with Hook ups. Separate dump site. Platform Tents W/ electric hook up only, and Primitive Camping. Hotel on the property too. We were using our Class A RV and did note that campsites did have some heavy leaf cover and underneath not uncommon to find juice boxes, straws, or fruit snack wrappers. They were smaller sites but were accommodating for corn hole or horseshoe. Some extra detail should be addressed at these locations. Water is quite odorous and smells of sulfur and heavy iron. It was camping but this is also a Resort so I did expect better. The public restrooms looked newly remodeled with dark wood look floors, clean and comfortable. Several stalls were always open. We were under a burn ban so will return during the winter months next time. Currently set to open this summer is a Water Park and Large Pool. Mini Golf, Horse Back Riding (Reservations) with Trail Guide, Swamp Buggy, Airboat and River Cruise available but is a separate charge. Most attractions and activities are a la cart. Tour Guides were all enthusiastic, entertaining and friendly! Knowledgeable about what they guided and helpful! Really nice people who cared about what they were doing and it showed. Rodeo on Saturday Night was under the big lights and the performers were fun and exciting! Definitely a small venue and circuit but the atmosphere was amazing! Really enjoyed this show! Saloon on site had Line Dancing Friday Night and full bar. Prices reasonable and special was a branded Beer Boot. The saloon and dancing opened at 7:30 PM. I was a little surprised to see several children in there. I would recommend that maybe they allow families at a certain time but evenings for adults. It is a bar and really isn't a place for children. So we did leave after Children remained in the bar at 10:30 pm. It was for this reason I couldn't give Resort a better rating. A nice Marina shop and barbecue restaurant on the river that provide relaxing sunsets and reasonable prices. A second restaurant also on property. Pizza, parlor, ice cream shop, candy store, general store, camping store are all on property and have just about any item that you may need in the event that you forget packing an item. There is a target range, skeet shooting, archery shooting available. I would recommend making this stop and giving yourself a few days. I definitely would recommend the "Cooler" months! Taking your bicycles in lieu of renting golf carts. We were prepared for this so no surprise. read more

First off: their fake Native American village of teepees is atrocious, shameful, and completely racist and inappropriate. I tried not to let my kids see this but it is hard to miss. My family gathered here decades ago (pre-fake village), and we reunited there again recently. Location wise, it is a decent in-between place to meet, coming from South Florida, Orlando, and Tampa area. The website is lacking, incredibly confusing. Very difficult to understand what is free and included as part of staying there and what is for pay. Truthfully, I would have never gone here if it wasn't for meeting up with my family, because the information is so difficult to obtain - and for not wanting support the above mentioned part of the resort. However, in the end, I am glad we visited, and I would consider returning for another family meetup. I read the reviews ahead of time that said that there are no grocery stores nearby so I brought in all our own food and shopped before I left home. We stayed in the 'rail car' which is just a tiny house, and it had a full-sized fridge, two burners, a tiny sink, and cooking amenities, so this was fine. The rail car is great for accommodating more than 4 people - there is a large bed in the master, a bunk bed built into the hallway, and a pull out couch in the living room, the kind you have to put back in each morning to be able to use the living room. Screened in back porch and front porch were nice. Lots of issues: tv was broken the whole time, wasps on the back porch, bugs, dust, dirt, barely any outlets, broken porch furniture, but oh well. A special thank you to the awesome person from maintenance who came out and tried to fix the tv and addressed the wasp. The rail cars were perfect for small kids due to their location. The rail cars are set in a row, and the front of each opens out onto a shady field with lots of trees, a perfect play space for kids. You can be in the house and still see your kids running in the field. The field is fenced on one side and set back far from the road. My kids climbed the trees, re-lit the fire in the very safe and well-built fire pit, laid in the hammocks, ran in the field, and fed the horse living behind the fence at the back. Paradise for them. FREE THINGS we did while staying there: -Fishing at the pond/marine - line poles with hooks are free to borrow- my kids didn't catch anything and there are lots of gators but it is still a pretty spot and nice to try fishing without worrying about reels and hooks flying about -mini-golf (free use of balls and clubs from the rec office) - this 'course' is moldy and run down but my kids had a blast -rec center equipment: some small bikes, large games, lassos, and other small activities outside of the rec center, plus a free craft available -petting zoo: the highlight- we could have gone every day -playing in the fields, petting the farm animals around the property -use of fire pits outside There are lots of things that were pay-only that we did not do, and we didn't pay for any of the food options. If you're gathering here with others, make sure you try to stay in the same area of the resort. I would definitely go to the rail car again with a friend/family member next door. But also would consider camping here as it is much cheaper than any of the lodging options, though very expensive for camping standards! Other family members stayed in a cabin. So having to drive to each different housing section was a pain. I am not a fan of golf carts and there are a ton here. It is lamentable that there are no sidewalks and it is not feasible to walk from section to section as the various lodging options are set far from each other. read more

Hidden gem alert! I can't believe that I just discovered Westgate River Ranch! I highly recommend it!!! I went GLAMPING for the first time ever! I had such a wonderful experience at Westgate River Ranch! My time at Westgate really took me back to my childhood, when I used to go to summer camp, by really allowing me to be able to take time to unplug from distractions and simply reconnect with nature. Westgate River has so many camping style accommodations and so many recreational activities to keep you entertained! There's sure to be something for everyone. I stayed in the luxury Glamping tent which was awesome! Such a unique concept! I had the opportunity to tour the Teepee and the Conestoga Wagons but there are so many more camping options to choose from including regular/non luxury glamping tents, saddle cars, cottages, cabins, RV sites, to primitive campsites. With so many options, it really makes it difficult to choose, lol. But whichever you choose, you can't go wrong. If you are looking for things to do at Westgate River Ranch, the options are endless. There's an escape room, game room, fishing, clay skeet shooting, air riffle, air boat rides, trap shooting, adventure park for the kids, swamp buggy rides, Kissimmee River Queen Cruise, horse back riding, petting farm, archery, horse shoes, Mechanical Bull, mini golf, pony rides, tennis courts, swimming pools, nightly campfire lighting to allow guest to roast s'mores, and even a rodeo every Saturday night. Check in is a nightmare and God forbid "an owner" arrives to check in because apparently the money they spend is better than anyone else's, this place made it clear that your money is not good enough if you are not an "owner" the staff is not the greatest at the front desk or the concierge, the girl tried to tell me that if I didn't go to a 45 min timeshare scam meeting I could not rent a golf cart, after much debate she finally said "I will make an exception and rent you a golf cart ", this place has a lot of customer service fixing to do in the front desk, my money is just as a good as "a westgate owners money". read more

By far one of the best resorts, it was my husband and I and we had the cabin all to ourselves, but it also has such a great environment for the entire family that I am booking another 3-4 nights at this resort and bringing in the grandkids and the rest of the family to enjoy honestly anything and everything that you need it's all inside of this resort no need to go outside to find something and plenty of stuff to keep the kids happy as well as thanks for adults to have a good time they have this great bar with a dancing area inside and outside rodeo little amusement type park. They were finishing the outdoor pool. It was just very serene and absolutely great getaway to reconnect and recharge with loved ones. read more

I came here with my son's school for their class trip. OMG! So much fun! So many activities and we didn't even do all of the activities that the resort offers either. The rooms were decent. However, they could use a facelift. Primarily the bathrooms in the rooms and the outside. I loved that they provide you with a golf cart to get around to all of the various parts of the resort. Otherwise you'd be walking quite a bit. Food was included in our stay and was honestly pretty decent. We had a variety of options for each meal which gives you an idea of what they offer for families who plan to return. They are in the process of building a water park which I know will be hit in the summer for families looking to experience glamping. Some of the activities we did was archery, swamp buggy ride, airboat ride, mini golf, petting zoo and field games. Besides those though, there is horseback riding, swimming, etc. We also got to play at the adventure park which consisted of rope climbing, corn maze, mining, etc. PLain and simple, it was so much fun. I stayed there this past Thanksgiving. There was an arrow that lodged into my RV from their archery range. When I contacted management, they said it's not their problem that it is considered a flying object. No sorry no remorse. I will never stay there again. Rodeo was terrible. Very little bull riding and just trying to entertain you with silly clown stuff. read more

My 21 year old daughter and I spent just the day here. We had a great horseback ride, ate surprisingly good pizza and shot air guns. We pet the animals in the petting area. We had an awesome day. All staff very friendly and helpful - horses strong and sturdy. Got to see a 24 hr old longhorn cow calf and a three day old foal. Lots of animals to touch and see. I wish i knew about this place when my kids were young! There was also fishing, skeet shooting, swamp rides and more to do. They're building a small water park also. It's a great place but nothing is free except petting zoo which is not that great the adventure part should be free also but it's not $20 a person they should let you have that for free because you're paying an arm and leg already like to get into the place. The amenities were decent, but the condition of the room was very disappointing. The shower was clogged, so I had to bathe in standing water. The bathroom exhaust fan blew hot air, making it feel like a heater was on, and the closet doors wouldn't close or slide properly. The Wi-Fi never worked during our stay, and the soap had a very unpleasant smell. For a room meant for four people, we were only provided a tiny bottle of shampoo and conditioner--definitely not enough. I also stayed here in August 2024, and the room was in the exact same condition. I didn't leave a review then, but I felt I had to now, since it's clearly not an isolated issue. On top of that, all the activities at the hotel are paid, which makes the overall experience feel overpriced--especially given the poor room conditions. Honestly, the hotel itself isn't great. What makes our trips enjoyable is spending time with our friends who stay in RVs. We spend the entire day with them and only return to the room to shower and sleep. If it weren't for that, we wouldn't stay here at all--unless we had a lot of money to spend on the extra activities. That said, the customer service is exceptional. The staff are incredibly friendly--some of the nicest people in Florida. The rodeo animator was fantastic and really brought the event to life, but the cowboys themselves weren't very skilled, rarely lasting more than two seconds on the bulls. read more

Visited here for an overnight field trip with my daughter. What a cute place in the middle of nowhere Florida that gives you an old country town feeling. The activities are great, the accommodations are nice. The property is clean. It definitely brings you into a mindset of taking in the beautiful surroundings of flora and fauna. Staff are super friendly, they were really accommodating to our kids and made the experience enjoyable for them. A plus is getting a golf cart to explore the property which is nice because things are spread out a bit (which I really liked). Looks like they have different themes for holidays based on when you visit. I think it's worth me coming back with the rest of our family to enjoy the place. read more

Celebrated our first wedding anniversary at the River Ranch Cattle Company and the manager seated us in a private corner booth then spoiled us with glasses of prosecco to toast our occasion and an appetizer of delicious deep fried deviled eggs. Amazing! And we felt absolutely blessed. Dinner was Devine with plank grilled Salmon and Chicken barbecued to tender perfection. Staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. This place is freaky cool. So much to do for a weekend stay. Foos isn't all that great. That's a downside. There is a German store but the food is meh. It's pricey to have fun here but my mother in law paid for all is for a fun girls weekend. We did an escape room & line dancing on Friday when we check in. Saturday morning horse back riding, the petting zoo, swap buggy, air boat ride, river cruise. Then a hayride follow by dinner. Later that evening there was an actual rodeo. Follow by outside dancing or dancing in the saloon. Apparently the saloon stays open until 4 am! Crazy. The next was check out but we had scheduled skeet shooting & archery. The type of room we got included all these amenities. You have to book them in advance and if you don't show up they do charge you $25.00 per person. They are serious about that. This place has an RV park, rent a tent, or glamour, or tons of other options. They are planning to build a water lagoon, & a drive through safari with tree house. Oh! There also a motel. So a variety of room it options. You can stay here with out doing a time share. This place is in the middle of nowhere. The drive into this place is long. I would like to come back just to do the water lagoon. A day pass. I can't afford to stay here. read more

What a great mini vacation at River Ranch Resort & Rodeo. I live in south Florida and always looking for something fun. This place was it! Check-in was fast, and great. The people who work there are extremely nice, and considerate. My friends and I decided to do Platform camping which is nice because the tent is provided and already set up! Electricity plugs are on the outside of the tent, and outside grills are provided. Platform camping was $49 a night which fit 6 people in a tent. They have various types of camping on the grounds like: GLAMPING, lodges, hotel, cabins, cottages, and Rv's. They have 3 restaurants on site. I only ate at the Smokehouse. Really good burgers and mozzarella sticks, and average pricing. I suggest you bring your own food and cook out to get that full camping experience :) Activites: Are stay included Archery, and petting zoo Paid activités I did were: Horseback riding Air boat ride (40 minute ride): $60 Saturday Night Rodeo was my FAVORITE. $25 and it was an amazing show with the horses and bull riders and more. After the show there is a street party with line dancing and live music. Mechanical Bull: $9 to ride it twice! This place is KID friendly! They had a lot of kid activities like bounce houses, fishing, rock climbing, mini golf, zip lining, petting zoo and more! One thing I HIGHLY recommend is renting a golf cart. There only 70$ a day for the 5 seater we got. It's way easier to get around to each activity and bathrooms if you are exploring the huge location! It was well worth it! The only con I would say about this place is if your camping in a tent/ RV the general bathroom is not the best. The showers had little to no privacy there was huge gaps between the stalls where you can see in, and the floors were extremely slippery. I definitely want to go back to do GLAMPING! This review is strictly based on the Swamp Buggy Tour. Reservations were easily made thru their website and you did not have to be a member or guest of the resort to purchase. Upon arriving a few minutes early before our scheduled time to sign our waivers, it was not immediately clear where to go to do that. There is a building that says bait shop so I wandered in to see if I was in the right spot. There weren't any attendants outside near the marina or swamp buggy tour guides to greet us either. Three employees were inside, 2 behind a clear partition and 1 guy just off to the side. They completely ignored me as I walked in and continued their conversation with each other. I politely said excuse me, is this where we check in for the swamp buggy tour? One of the ladies finally did smile and said yes, then handed me a stack of waivers for my party. Once we got on the buggy, the driver was not welcoming at all. He didn't say one word to us and had this grumpy, pissed off look on his face. He took off driving and remained silent the entire 45 minutes. There was no narration whatsoever of where we were, what plants, trees, animals, etc. we saw, nothing. It was very awkward. I tried to ask a few questions during the ride like how deep the water was and the driver seemed annoyed and just mumbled he didn't know. The ride itself was ok and something different to do. We had great weather which made it enjoyable. The ride takes you thru the swamp/forest and you can see the tee pees and the horses walking on the trail. But the experience could have been so much better if the driver had any personality or even some tidbits of information to give. There only seemed to be about 2 swamp buggies running that day so not sure if both drivers are the same and don't talk or if it was our guy. Due to the pandemic, they do require all riders to wear a mask for the duration of the ride. All buildings in the resort also require patrons to wear masks inside. read more

We stayed in the new Luxury Glamping tent for 2 nights - Pros: the room was perfect, very modern with everything you'd need, super comfy bed, gets super cold with the AC and fan Community fire pit that comes with a s'mores kit Getting a golf cart is one of the very best parts We did the airboat ride which was great The breakfast delivery every morning is a cute touch Fast and efficient check in, you can also text with any questions instead of having to call Cons: only one real restaurant to eat at with nothing else in the area Some areas need renovations... the adventure section for instance with mini golf is extremely outdated Every activity costs extra money which really adds up if you want something to do all day They need to add more to do that can fill in gaps in your day, for instance scenic hiking trails, more animals at the petting zoo, a larger and updated adventure park, more daily activities like movie nights etc. read more

Just left the one in Florida. What a terrible experience. We had bought tickets for the haunted hayride for $35 per adult and $20 per kid. Total $145. Drove over an hour and arrived 1 hour early to do the cowboy area. They wanted $20 per person. Even an adult with their arm in a sling, an elderly person and an adult too large for any activity! So $40 for the kids and $60 for the adults to do NOTHING! When we looked around most of the activities were closed. So for $100 the 2 kids could go through the fence Maze, pump broken hand pumps for a duck race and sit on a tire swing. Could also climb on the rock wall but not in the mood. After seeing what that much money didn't get you we went back to the car for an hour. The hsuted ride was ok. LONG ride out to the area. 4 actors. Ok story line and our narrator was good. LONG ride back. We will NEVER return and advise others to see think twice. read more

We stayed in one of the larger cabins which had 2 full bathrooms , 2 kitchens and 2 washer/dryers! Right outside our door is Buffalo grazing , it was lovely. The kitchen came stocked with cookware, coffee pot and coffee however no other extra condiments ( not even salt & pepper) were provided. The general store was pretty lame and way overpriced. They did not have basic items you would want. There is not many choices to get food so I Highly recommend bringing your own. The saloon by adventure park served decent drinks. As e tire park was cool for the kids, they did mechanical bull Ride and zip lining ( comes with 2 turns) which in the end didn't seem like enough. The swamp buggy ride was a lot of fun , about a 40 min ride & we had a blast. The rodeo was very entertaining def worth it ! I may come back, depends on what is being offered. River Ranch is definitely a unique experience built on a slice of Florida's cattle heritage which bumps it up to a four star experience. The motel was underwhelming...think a motel 6. Room was rather dated and noises from adjacent rooms could be heard...all night long. The pool is nice but unheated. Considering that the high season is winter it would make sense for them to put in a solar heater. Running through the property is The Florida Trail, a 1200 mile National Scenic Trail. There are some loop hikes possible just south of Tepee village. There are also free camping spots that you can reserve through south florida water management district. The primitive camping is basically a spot you pick out on the grass with a self imposed eight foot spacing to allow vehicles to drive through. If you are coming on a winter weekend, bring ear plugs. We were next to an RV that had a DJ running past midnight. They were having power problems though as that their breaker keep getting tripped everytime the party started going. The camp area has a campground store open Wednesday through Sunday with limited supplies. The campground is next to trap range so if you have gun shy pets, it may not be a good choice. The resort appears to be pet friendly in the RV / primitive camping. In lodging and glamping it is a 175 non refundable cleaning deposit with breed restrictions. There is no fenced in dog areas (I used the tennis court) I have a service dog and have not had any hassles. The general store sells pet food. What a fabulous Glamping experience! Went with some girlfriends and we were in for some wonderful fun experiences! This is a great l getaway for all ages! For families and friend getaways! Our accommodations were the Teepees! So adorable and comfortable! The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful and also so knowledgeable of this working ranch! Chey helped us get very comfortable and was available for all and any of our needs. Dom, an experienced horseman and so attentive and knowledgeable about the horses and all the animals at Westgate. He spoke about how the animals can graze and relax after putting in a full day, which included horses, long horn cattle and even the Bison! I loved the way he described the Bison as "Living Art" He knew the terrain very well and I have to say... there is a lot of terrain at Westgate! I haven't been horseback riding in years and the experience was terrific! I was matched with Pancho! He is a magnificent beauty, a legacy which means he was born on the ranch and raised there. What I noted was how well treated the horses were. When they finished their ride they went right over to get a treat of hay! Well I can go on and on because we did so many things including a real rodeo experience with professional riders that was a real treat with their amazing abilities!! Don't do it. I took my family there for a vacation during spring break. Four days in total. There were some things that were spectacular, and other things were actually horrible. There was nothing in between. My wife had been talking about it for a long time so I went ahead and booked without doing any research. That's on me. After the fact, I did the research and found many many many 1 star reviews. We had our travel trailer there for four days and I discovered there was no sewage. Only a dump station. At $137 a day, They damn sure should be sewage. The dump station would overflow instantly and cover the ground around. Nasty nasty nasty. We dined in at one of the restaurants and it was absolutely horrible. The appearance of the place was nice. The atmosphere was nice. But that's where the nice ended. We sat for almost 2 hours for before the food hit the table. The waitress was nonexistent. She couldn't be bothered. The manager came to us at the end and started trying to smooth things over with a free drink and a free dessert. if the manager had been genuinely interested, she would've seen the problem sooner and acted sooner. By the time she got to us, it was a dumpster fire. I believe she knew it a whole time and just doesn't care. I also noticed that every single transaction I made at the resort was troublesome. They do not do receipts of any kind. No paper receipts, nothing emailed to you, nothing. Every transaction I made there were problems with my card because they would run the card over and over and over again. Every time I want to talk to them they didn't have any answers. I believe they do this by design. We did the swamp buggy. That was great. We did the airboat. That was great. We did the rodeo. That was spectacular. The resort is beautiful, but it seems that this place is strictly there strip you of your money. Don't do it. read more

This is NOT a resort. The high dollar lodging was at best similar to a Days Inn. The two restaurants onsite were horrible! As we checked in, we had to stand in line for 45 minutes. The only event onsite that we enjoyed was the rodeo which we should have just driven to. I DO NOT Recommend this place at all! We are here now for 5 days and I have to say I had higher hopes for the place. Everything is very expensive and not worth it. Paid to take my daughter to the adventure park 20 per person including adults who cannot participate in any activities and most of the attractions were broken or closed. Basically paid for my daughter to play in sand, tire swings and a maze. When asked about the activities that were closed we were give many excuses.. no staff, too hot for the bounce house (it's 65 degrees today). Starbucks is understaffed took almost an 1 hr for 2 coffees, doughnuts and ice cream. Today we went to Starbucks and by 2pm they were sold out of most items stating they have been busy. Seems like poor planning to run out of supplies on a busy holiday weekend. It's sad there is alot of potential here but the lack of staffing and upkeep for the place is lacking considerably. For the money we spent to stay here and what we spent on activities we could have very easily went to Disney and got our moneys worth! read more

This could be a great place. Could being the key words. We camped in our own RV and first off, the campsites are terrible for the rate. You're literally in the middle of a field with a bunch of primitive campers. Check in was a slow disaster. The guy who checked me in couldn't even givea printed breakout of everything I was paying for. He was calculating my bill on a calculator. He didn't give me my rodeo wrist bands and when I went back and confronted him about it he tried to say that if I didn't have them I'd have to buy them again, which forced me to get a manager involved. There is a small gravel spot for your camper. There is water and electric but no sewer hookup. Paying a luxury campground rate with no sewer hookup is insane. The bath house is disgusting. A hot moldy smelly mess. There is a single family bath house that i attempted to use with my 5 year old daughter and the shower had shin deep standing water in it. So putrid. With the exception of the attendants who stand outside and greet you at registration, the resort staff overall, are mean and grumpy. The pool is tiny and I would expect at the price we paid that the pool area to offer drinks, snacks, music, activities but there was none of that. The saloon isn't too far of a walk from the pool but not convenient if you have little kids in tow. The saloon didn't even offer any frozen drinks or virgin drinks for kids. The ice cream shop closes early every night which is a huge bummer when you have little kids and you can't even get them ice cream. With the exception of the standard sports amenities, pool and petting zoo area, you will pay crazy prices for everything. I had to pay $10 just so my daughter could go on a ran down half deflated bounce that sits in the middle of a blazing field with no shade or water. Shops don't open and close at the times they are supposed to so we couldn't even get coffee on our last morning due to hand written sign on the door saying "we'll open at 9:30am." Upon check out/leaving, when I went to turn our golf cart in at 8:45am, there was no attendant. I tried to return it to the marina store and the lady told me that she couldn't give me anything showing that I returned the cart. I questioned what would happen if someone stole it and I had nothing to prove that I returned it. She had no good resolution besides "we don't have receipts." She ended up calling security and told me to return it to security personnel. When Jesus arrived he also refused to give me anything showing I returned the cart. He was about to refer me to the front desk who he said also won't give me a receipt. I ended up taking a picture of Jesus with the golf cart, holding the key. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a camp resort. They should not call this place a resort. There is a true resort on the property called "River Ranch Resort" and it's not affiliated with Westgate. I highly recommend anyone considering this dump, to instead book the River Ranch Resort for basically the same price. I hope my review will help someone save their hard earned money. read more

**Attention to all** I found a spot in Lake Wales, FL that would be a Fabulous FAMILY REUNION spot! We just went Glamping in an air conditioned tent and I went Horseback riding for the first time (I am now HOOKED). I had to take a star way because we were there during the week and the other activities were all closed until the weekend. So, we were unable to enjoy the bull riding, the adventure park or archery. Horrible service. Overpriced. Staff charged us for rodeo tickets, didn't give them to us and then basically accused of us of lying when we said they did not give them to us. Dismissed my wife and daughter in law until myself and son, both big men, confronted them instead. They had to review video footage of check in to verify we were telling the truth (insulting!).They actually wanted us to pay twice. Pulled the same stunt with the 'amenity card', without which you can do nothing. Lost 4 hours hassling them over payments. Lousy food service. Very expensive every step of the way. Reviewing our camping experience from a married couple in our late 20's in January 2021 (10 months into Covid) So we arrived Friday for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We saw there was a car show, so we were very excited. The car show occurred on Saturday and was a lot of fun. We were not interested in the adventure park as it was aimed at children. We also steered away from the swamp buggy's and airboats because of poor social media reviews. We did enjoy the rodeo. I thought it was an excellent value for two hours of entertainment. We did go horseback riding as well which I enjoyed. The ladies in the stable and riding with us were on their cellphones, so that was disappointing. Also they only offer a walking trail ride, and I would have liked to see something a little more advanced for someone who has ridden before. I was very disappointed with the general store, they did not have fresh food at all. I also ordered "hash browns" for $1.75 but I was informed that they only had home fries and charged me $5... and they tasted awful. The staff at the front gate was very welcoming, the issue is they don't know the resort. We asked about hours for the western store on Saturday before the rodeo, as we wanted to buy a couple things. We were told it was open til 10p and we went at 6:30 and it was closed. They lost business because the staff misinformed us. As for the camping aspect, we paid $65/a night to sleep in our own tent. There are no tent sites so people got as close as they wanted to you. That's a huge downer especially for people without children whom get placed next to a giant family. I just wish there were sites and an allotment for space. Also, there is no staff monitoring to ensure good guests experience. For example on one night one person drove through the entire resort for two minutes blaring their horn non stop at 11p. The next night someone blared their music around 10:30 from their vehicle in the tent area. It was very disruptive and resort staff should have shut it down. There are not enough bathrooms for every one, we always had wait, and it was a very long walk at night so I saw many people just peeing on trees. Pros: Beautiful land Affordable drinks Opportunity to be close to the animals Staff is friendly and waves Rodeo was fun Cons: Not enough bathrooms Staff not educated on the resort Staff not caring or on phones No tent lines Not enough activities for young adults No monitoring for camping policies VERY EXPENSIVE (anything above the tents were outrageously priced) Limited dining options No local things to do as it was the middle of no where Overall I would not suggest this as a vacation spot unless you have small children or are older and don't wish to leave your camp site. read more

This review pains me to write because in non covid times, this place could've been a great (albeit overpriced vacation). I'll break it down into pros and cons here. Pros: -Beautiful location, the ranch spans miles and miles of land, with gorgeous nature and animals everywhere. A breath of fresh air. -The teepee glamping experience- absolutely wonderful and beautiful teepees with heating and full fledged bathrooms and include all your activities with a continental breakfast (see pics below); included a fire pit to do smores which were included -The manager Eileen (sp?) at the smokehouse grill. Despite telling the ranch 2.5 months when booking, again when making activity reservations, again at check in and again with our teepee concierge, that 2 of 3 of our party are vegetarian (each time to be told yes we've made a note), the restaurant (the only one) had ZERO clue. However Eileen and the head chef worked to create delicious meals for my parents including orange vegan chicken stir Fry, black bean burgers etc. Cons: -not COVID friendly. The sign when you walk in says that in public places and on the swamp buggy and airboat, that a mask must be worn. This never held true. Id venture to say 75% of people did not wear a mask or wore one on under their nose. This pains me as a physician to watch. At the rodeo, they checked temperatures but a man with no mask walked in front of us through THREE people checking temperatures and no one said a word. The second part is at the swamp buggy, airboat and rodeo, there is no social distancing so even more imperative to wear a mask. However it was never enforced. My mother had to say "sir I don't feel comfortable with the fact that no one is wearing a mask" and it was only then that the airboat tour guide said "oh she's right can everyone put on your mask" When my mom brought this up to the front desk, their response was that the Marina was third party owned and she had no "legal recourse". My mom brought it up to the marina who said "oh the front desk called" and did not give my mom the time of day to voice her concerns. -the lack of communication: I brought this up already within my pros but it was basically that despite giving more than advanced notice of 2/3 being vegetarian, the restaurant said "oh nobody told us" -the price. The teepee was $1K a night. Which, as gorgeous as it was, was just way way too much. The lodge rooms themselves were about $230 a night. I do get that it's holiday season but this was just a lot of money for nothing included but wifi. Bear in mind that the teepee does include free activities, wifi and a complimentary continental breakfast but no other meals. I would like to say I'll re-review this place when COVID is over but the price point is just too high for me to return. The two stars is for the beauty and Eileen who really gave us delicious food. read more

Best if you can stay in one of the new wagons , I highly recommend it because it comes with all the activities that otherwise they charge you for each activity. The new restaurant is a must . This place will rock your socks off. The drive is a little bit tedious but if you're going to Legoland, it's not too far off. If you're from Tampa like me, the drive is quite rough but once you get to the resort, you completed forget about your drive as everything there is impressive. They have teepees, glamping, lodging, cabins and everything you can think of. Some of the stays include things such as horseback riding, rodeo, saloon, petting zoo and more. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They didn't have any tour guides to help us but gave us info and a map and we were off. They also have stores there, a gym, laundry and in the back of this resort was it's on RV park! There was just so much to do and I would definitely recommend coming here for sure! read more

This is a family retreat to countryside. I love all the activities Especially horse back riding on ranch. you can never run out of things to do so you'll always want to be back and experience more. either luxury glamping or luxury suites with kitchen and outdoor grills ,a home and or the luxury teepees and more be sure to be back to experience the ranch a different way. Rodeo show was so full of energy and the night is lit with bond fires and a DJ rallying a street party are the scene for Saturday country folks full with family fun for all ages. read more

HWY 60 is a high speed nightmare make sure you come in during the day time. On HWY they have a ton of Hogs crossing the Road at night time. We checked in on a Friday and even with doing the Online Check in we still had to sit in Line for them to sell us all the events. It was Nice they had someone show us the camp site but could not see much at night time. Platform Camping, RV Camping, the One you set your own tent up with, is very crowded area at night time you are on top of each other and it is very hectic with all the Gas powered gas carts roaming. Platform Camping the Tent can Fit 1-2 Family's Just fine, the Fire Pitt is nice and the Grill is nice as well, It had 110 Electrical Hook ups just near the Door and a Water outlet not far away to wash off items. its hard to sleep until about mid night 1am ish from all the noises. The Restrooms was a Walk Not going to joke about it as well as the showers. They are ok but for the price it would be nice to have nicer setup for that. One thing that throws me off is "NO ICE MACHINES" you have to keep buying bags of Ice and in a Resort most places have ice Machines. Zip Line, Petting Farm, Saloon, Rodeo, Golf, and bull Riding is a very short walking distance from the type of camping spots I was talking about above as well as shooting Range and archery. ( Places a bit further away is the Restaurant, General Store, and Western Store, Fishing, Boating, Swamp Buggy ). Items we did: / Zip Line was closed / Petting Farm was great / Pony Ride was great but very short for the price / Gift shop near the petting farm is not worth anyone's time / Bull Riding looked fun but did not try it / Rock Wall my son Loved it / Golf is not worth someone's time unless you spent a week here and you run out of stuff to do / Jumping Bounce was great my kid loved it as well as all the others I seen get on it / The Rodeo is great I loved it but Kit not as much and a Fair amount of people started walking out before it was done / Swamp buggy I did not do but ive done it before other places / Boat tour did not do / Archery was great and fun, if you have 1-3 people just pay for 1 person and share as it gets old after 15 mins shooting 4 arrows and picking them up and you pay for a hour of time / shooting I did not do but most people said it was great / Saloon looks super cool but my kid got tired so I could not hang out long for the street party but that is a good deal to do. Tip: For the Rodeo eat before going and get to the Rodeo a few Mins before 6 as they start to let the line in at 6:30, Go to the Restroom before getting in line and take drinks and snacks with you as the line for the Restroom and snack bar is insane. The time does pass fast until the show starts. its best to sit higher up so you can see but it is not any social distance so covid love this place. Tip: you don't have to have a golf cart unless you are Glamping which is awful because it is just by the entrance and next to the air port so it is loud and not personal but it is further away from the action. If you want a Golf cart Reserve it while booking the Reservation. Don't do the time share free cart deal man that takes forever and I talked to 3 family's that wish they did not do it. If you want to do Camp fire bring a fair amount of wood. People talk like the General Store is expensive but it is not much more than when I went to Publix given its location not being near much. The General Store also will make Fresh Pizza and it looks amazing. Conclusion: would I do it again? Yes but I'm happy I checked in on a Friday and checked out on Sunday because the Camping and Relaxing part is not possible here, the Attractions they have you can do in 2 days. If you are going to take a boat out and fish a few days you can add that on as well. If you Decide something could happen you can to cancel 5 days prior to your stay to get a Refund and given Covid is around just keep that in mind the Family across from our tent lost $160 a few weeks prior because the wife came down with Covid and got sick. read more
