One star only because zero not an option. I have been shopping here for years, both for myself and my kids. I was in already this summer and spent$$$. Today, looked for a pair of New Balance sneakers and the salesman was not selling, he was having a lengthy and loud political discussion with a woman - hard to tell if she'd come in to shop or stump for a political party. It got too irritating to listen and before I left I excused myself and indicated that maybe it wasn't the best time or place for a protracted political discussion as it impacted service. The salesman (who made a point during the lengthy discussion that he had gone to the most expensive college in the country because his father was rich, but agreed that it was unfair), said "well , that's YOUR opinion". So, Westies is certainly well-organized, clean and has a very friendly staff, but the space is very dated and the selection definitely caters to the older folks. While prices are reasonable and the brands of good quality, I struggled to find something suitable for someone under the ago of, say, 60. However, this is Cape Cod, and a major chunk of the year-round population (especially in these parts) is of that vintage. So, Westies knows their audience, and they stick with it. From Dansko to Fit Flop to Sketchers, you'll find comfort is the mainstay, and support another. I accompanied my mother here who found exactly what she was looking for in a neutral, supportive sandal. While the stock is clearly self-service, there are always a few people working there, tidying and manning the front desk. Ample parking in the rear, and a great location on Main Street make this an easy shop to access, even in the crowded summer months. read more

My friend wanted to look for some Keenes. I told him to come look at Westies because I'd seen some great deals there over the winter. Not in June! As soon as we walked in we were immediately ignored by the 3 saleswomen who could not be bothered to interrupt their conversation about bridesmaid dresses to even smile in our direction, much less ask how they could help us. I finally loudly said to my friend "I think the men's shoes are over there against the far wall" and one of the women did give us a moment's eye contact and a nod of agreement with my directions before turning back to the important discussion of "fingercurls" as a hair style. "I just LOVE fingercurls!" they cooed back and forth to each other as we meandered around the periphery of the store. Did you know you can now buy a pair of flipflops for $70 and up??? We didn't buy any, but I guess people do... And I hated the signs on the shoes in the window... handwritten to the customer inside the store... "DO NOT TOUCH!"... (because then the clerks might have to do some actual work to put them back in place, I guess... either that, or they must be the most fragile and easily breakable shoes in the world). Not once did a saleswoman approach us to offer assistance. As we were leaving my friend loudly said "I guess we should just look on-line" and we were out the door. Could I say something positive? Interested in being followed around like a common criminal in the store? Definitely go to Westies if you are. The owner or manager or whoever she is will follow you around the store and watch you the entire time you're there. If you do stick around long enough to try on any shoes she'll inspect your feet as you walk by to make sure you aren't still wearing their precious shoes. The prices are also pretty high for a store with the word "outlet" in the name. They do have some nice shoes, however, the unfriendly and suspicious environment make it a really uncomfortable place to shop. I've been to other Westies on the Cape and the staff at those stores is much more friendly and I have bought things. Go to those stores before trying your luck at the Orleans store! read more

Be careful when shopping at Westies Shoe Outlet in Orleans. They have a no refund policy that is not clearly stated, and you are not made aware of it as you make your purchase. I recently purchased a pair of shoes, and found that I had purchased the wrong style once I got home. I tried to return the following day, and was notified that I could only get a store credit. I tried to find the correct style of shoe but they did not have a pair in my size. I tried to order, but they stated that they were not able to order shoes (this is in conflict with what their web page states.) So, no refund, and no ordering the shoes in the correct size. I tried to contact the manager and never received a return call. What a crap policy, very poor customer service, and to further add insult to injury, the sales associate was rude and condescending. My advice, DON'T shop at Westies Shoe Outlet in Orleans. read more

Seemed very overpriced for this type of shoe store. Salespeople were not eager to help. Very little outside standard sizing. Almost no wide widths, no men's size 7, not even for brands that routinely make them like New Balance. My significant other got no bargain on a pair of clogs she couldn't live without. For a more recent review (the others are from previous years) - I was in the Shoe Outlet in late May 2015 and I could not believe that wide selection of sneakers, sandals and flip flops. I've been pricing a pair of sketchers memory form soles for walking - and this store had them at the same price as online. They carry a wide range of brands - high end and moderate - and although the store was not fancy, it was really well organized and I found a great pair of shoes. I would go again! read more

Plenty of parking in back. Shoes. Nothing too upscale, just shoes you might need. All very practical and displayed easily for browsing.

I recently went into the West Dennis store to look for some sandals and a good deal. They have a tent out front with tons of brand names along and a great selection for men and women. I bought 2 pair of Born shoes for $45 each! The sales people were extremely helpful in showing me exactly what I was looking for! Its seems like all Sandals were on sale! I bought 2 pair of Taos sandals that are the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. I have never heard of the brand but the sales lady explained all the features and benefits and my feet loved them. I can't take them off! I strongly suggest stopping by for the tent sale, everything is on sale and the sales people were great! read more

Really great place to find men's boots or leather sandals. Go here because its relit evenly close to my home and their selection is pretty good. But not in sneakers, or name brand ones at least. But I still manage to find something good every time I go! read more
