This is a really wonderful community theater. The venue is great. Plenty of parking, nice seats a good stage and lobby. The choice of plays are varied and wonderful and fun. The acting is delightful and the sets, costumes, props, lighting and all are so well done. They make special cocktails specifically for each play. The food available is all homemade by the volunteers who run the place. This is true community theater and is a total delight from start to finish. If you can get tickets - you should.go. read more

A group of 5 of us, went in for the first time and saw "And Then There Were None". What a great experience!! The actors and actresses were top notch and passionate about what they were doing. The theater is very charming with vintage flair! They serve wine and drinks along with deserts. I will be looking forward to coming back to see the next play they offer and am happy to realize the community offers such lovely and classic entertainment such as this! If you are thinking of seeing a play, I would highly recommend doing so. Plus the ticket process was very easy. I bought tickets online and when we arrive our tickets were right there, I didn't have to show emails or bring confirmation. 5 Star Experience! read more
I was in the area to do some volunteer work and saw the side announcing a production of Harold & Maude in nearby Callo. My schedule was such that I was able to pop over for a Saturday matinee and I'm so very, very glad I took the time to do so. The freestanding building is adorable, the lobby is roomy yet cozy with cafe tables, all the refreshments are home made, and the bar has some decent beer and wine choices. Theatre seats are comfy. Above all else, though, is the quality of the performance. While some of the cast was young (think high school) and inexperienced, they get big points for effort. The lead roles, though, were outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate to see another play here were I in the area. read more

The Players is a gem. Don't miss an opportunity to catch a show at this delightful little theatre near Callao et le village de Village in Northumberland County VA. A rotation of local talent performs here throughout the year and captivates the loyal following with a combination of classic plays and edgy modern comedies. Arrive a bit early to snag a glass of wine or a homemade sweet in the lobby. You will not be disappointed. read more

For a small community theater the environment is amazing. Very professional. The sets are top rate, the actors put out their best and the "background" Volunteers take their work to heart! Come, see a play, and experience it for yourself. read more

History
Established in 1979.
The Westmoreland Players presented its first production Our Town in 1979 at Cople School in Hague, VA. Over the years we have travelled the Northern Neck using any venue available to provide entertainment to our community and its visitors. In 1995 we were able to finally buy a permanent home and become a bona fide business with a fixed location.
