This library is massive! Best of all it's clean, quiet, and well-taken care of. I am so impressed with the architecture. There is a nice pathway leading to a private pavillon outside and the pathway is complimented with gorgeous landscaping including flowers, plants, and neatly cut grass. It's a hunt down here to find the right library. So many are loud, sketchy or outdated...so I am really happy I found this one in a safe and comfortable setting.

    My selection for the day!

When it was built, Young at Art Museum set the tone for this being a place for families to explore and learn. Then it changed to a library that seems to cater to teens and younger with the large area for all young people with magazines and computers to puzzles and a little play area with Legos for the littlest non readers. This building is quite large with multiple areas that are not fully utilized. There is some programming that can be booked online through the Broward County library system and there are rooms that can be rented out for meetings and after hour functions. The oitside spaces are also very nice although I believe it is slated to be renovated and turned into a different functional space. The staff seemed friendly and eager to assist. The Library was clean and very quiet and the parking lot was very easy to find parking. They even have some covered free parking and electric vehicle charges for the public.

Sat at a comfy chair in a secluded corner and read my Flash comic. The library is split between a teen/adult section and childrens section. Some decent magazines and dvd offerings too. There is an active book fair that had a large adult section of donated books for sale at $1 - $2. The librarian was very sweet. A food and clothing donation bins are at the front counter. Got an application for a FREE library card with proof of ID in Broward County. Parking was not an issue.

Dedicated in 2000, it was the first library built with funds from the $139 million library bond issue approved by Broward County voters in 1999. This 78,000-square-foot, two-story library is a joint-use facility of the Broward County Library System and Pembroke Pines. It's open to the public while also serving as the school library for charter high school students. Broward College students have access to a computer lab on the first floor. The library's collection includes over 100,000 lending items for children and adults in multiple languages, including books and multimedia. Amenities include a teen activity room, children's storytime room, 300-seat auditorium, gift shop, classrooms, quiet study rooms, conference rooms, tutoring rooms, and a computer lab. Programs for all ages are offered regularly--details are available at the front desk or on the library's website. On my visit, there was a holiday model train exhibit. More recently they had a St. Patrick's Day photo op on the second floor and an Easter Peeps diorama contest. Broward County truly excels at libraries, and Southwest Regional is no exception. The space is large, clean, modern, and welcoming. The lobby floor features a terrazzo design that gives the illusion of the Everglades, while the ceiling shows the sky from an alligator's underwater perspective--a really fun touch. Whether you're studying, working remotely, or just browsing, there's plenty of room to spread out. Quiet areas are genuinely quiet, and community spaces feel relaxed and inviting. If you haven't visited a library in a while, Southwest Regional might surprise you with how much it can enrich your day.

All the volunteers were so friendly, found out about so many community, and enjoyed all the activities and booths. Can't wait for next year when baby is older and can enjoy even more. The miniature railroad display put on a couple weeks ago, was so impressive. Highly recommend keeping a pulse on all their events.

There plenty of reading materials; I love their paperless books via the Libby app. We specifically went there for the children's section which is on the smaller side. There was a small Lego set and some chairs. They offer many baby and toddler programs. Overall, a great library with many resources for people from all walks of life.

Occasionally a book will come out and I can only get the hard copy, when that happens I come to this branch. The library was closed for a few months for some remodeling, but I didn't notice any huge changes when I visited today. This business is located amongst a couple of other city of Sunrise government businesses. The library has a dated look, but seems to be otherwise clean and kept up. There are a couple of sections with some comfier chairs. The library was fairly quiet when I quickly visited mid-day. When we lived in Northern California our library was a popular hangout for the homeless population, but this place was much emptier. They do have some computers available for public use. You can also pay to have some Items printed. There is a sizable section of DVDs to rent. They also have a couple of quiet study rooms, some magazines and a new book section. I recommend going online and reserving your books ahead of time. It's free to use the library, so I can't really complain too much.

Books-A-Million has a long history going all the way back to 1917 in Florence, Alabama, when 14 year old Clyde W. Anderson began a news stand business to support his family after the death of his father. From these humble beginnings Clyde's son, Charles C. Anderson expanded the books store left to him by his father into a chain of stores. Today they are the second largest chain of book stores in the U.S. operating close to 300 stores in more than 30 state. Books-A-Million is bright and inviting. They have a large selection of books from classics to the latest bestseller and periodicals but they also sell games, greeting cards, toys, T-shirts, collectibles, candy, house hold goods, collectibles, and more. I especially love their Florida section. This is the kind of store where it is easy to find a gift for that hard to shop for person. I have purchased a lot of presents here through the years as well as the latest beach book. I always discover something unique whenever I stop in. You can order books online but there is something so satisfying about going into a bookstore and holding the books in your hands as you make your decision. That is why this is always a top stop in the mall for me.
