Paula is amazing and had it fixed by 10am today and not only did she fix so well but she checked the rest of my bag and reinforced the other area's where to straps connected to the bag and only charged me $20! Nice family business. They do great work. Sweet couple. I took in old boots that I bought while traveling and they helped me buy the tools I needed to refurbish them myself as I was leaving town. They were very gracious. The man did ask me to please wait while he helped a very elderly lady come up the steps and into his shop. He carefully tended to her transactions before me. When she left and he returned to me he said she had been his teacher and he really appreciated her and wanted to give her special treatment. It was quite endearing. Yes. It's a nice place. read more

Just got another repair done here- the magnetic closures on my old purse busted through the leather. I cannot believe what a perfect repair job Westside did! The new leather is perfectly dyed to match, the whole thing oiled and cleaned. My favorite purse looks absolutely as great as it did brand new! Done quickly, very inexpensive and absolutely first rate job. I've always heard you can get two out of three of those things, but at Westside you really can get all three! read more

I have a high instep and they were able to stretch multiple pairs of my boots to fit my ridiculous flintstone feet. Even my steel toe work boots. I don't know why I waited in pain to take them in for so long! I took my favorite pair of cowgirl boots in to replace the worn out soles and they did an incredible job, they even re-dyed the worn out leather. These guys are amazing! Sure it took a few weeks and maybe they're not open on the weekends but they're a mom and pop shop, cut them some slack! We all need time off! They called me every time my boots were done and they're super nice people too. I'll be back! read more

While they do ok work; it takes a very long time to get your shoes back. They never answer the phone, and they do not call you when your shoes are ready. I will take my shoes someplace else from now on. read more

I took a pair of lovely thrift store purchased wingtips that needed a new sole and heel. I really liked these classic, well made American shoes - you can't buy them new like this save for Alden or perhaps Allen-Edmunds and spending a ton of money. The shoes have a double leather sole, and came with an ugly rubber heel. Westside Boot said they could replace the soles (not half soles, but the whole thing) and install a nice looking leather heel. They let me know they were running around 8 weeks behind(!!), and quoted me a pretty low price. After 8 weeks, I gave them a call and was told "2 more days." Sure enough, they called me in 2 days. The work is fantastic, was cheaper than the quote, and took exactly as long as they said it would. Friendly shop. Does good work. Give them your money. read more

Walked in to get a pair of shoes repaired, and I didn't even finish describing what I wanted before the woman receptionist was shaking her head, saying "no, no, no, we can't fix these, there's no way to fix them; even gluing won't last 2 days." I went to Rustic Hills Shoe Repair, and he said he could repair these shoes, no problem. AVOID WESTSIDE BOOT & SHOE REPAIR! I took my first pair of cowboy boots here to get the inside sole repaired and to clean up the outside of my boots. After less than two weeks I got a call saying they were done and when I picked them up they looked and felt amazing. It only cost $18 to get the work done! Will definitely remember this place and take my other boots and shoes there next time they are in need of care! read more

Very disappointing ! I took an expensive luxury item there to be repaired. when a couple of stitches were all that was necessary, the original leather tab was removed and thrown away! It was replaced with a much thicker and crooked tab. The stitches were shoddy and went through to the interior of the item. More or less ruined this item. I will not have any items repaired there in the future, and I would not recommend others take there items there either. Customer service is lacking there as well. Service without a smile. Most items take two to three weeks to repair. Employees do not call when items are finished. With the amount of time in business and this location, some competition could definitely improve their craftsmanship and service. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR SHOES HERE!!!! I have several complaints with this store, and I actually had to TAKE MY BOOTS AWAY FROM THEM! First, they told me it would take 8 weeks. Okay, I was appalled by the length of time considering I was only having my boots repaired (new soles and heels); however, I let them have them because they had such good reviews thus far. I came in 8 weeks later (because I hadn't received a promised phone call), and the lady showed them to me; THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED WORKING ON THEM! She said, "give us a couple more weeks." So...I came in 12 weeks from the original date, and I asked her to show me them; the store had put on the soles, and hadn't even processed to sewing them in yet. I DEMANDED MY BOOTS BACK! The lady tried to charge me 44 dollars for the soles, and I told her no way (the only positive benefit is that the store's employees are rude, but moronic, so you can haggle with them). I told her that because the soles weren't finished, I would pay $22. She agreed, and I took my boots back. I am a Texan...born and raised. Thus, I CARE about my boots. I took them back to Texas because I was going home from school for the summer, and I went to the first boot shop I found, and the guy is charging me $20 to put on new heels and to sew in the soles, and they will be done in two weeks. THIS PLACE IS THE WORST SHOP TO TAKE ITEMS TO FOR REPAIR WORK. read more

I brought in two pairs of shoes to have the heels redone and was told that they were really busy, which meant it might take up to 8 weeks. I checked in 8 weeks after dropping them off and nothing had been started. Ok, but a full month later I went back in and picked up my shoes (untouched) to take somewhere else. Their craftsmanship might be good, but their service takes way to long. C'mon...three MONTHS to glue a rubber heel onto the sole?!? Never again. read more
