If you need shoes, come here! The service is beyond amazing. They definitely have your best foot interests in mind. They have you walk without shoes on and recommended shoes based on your own personal needs. They also make sure that they watch your walking while trying on the shoes and monitor if you are walking well with them on. You can also go in with a specific shoe in mind and just grab those. You don't have to have them make suggestions/recommendations, as there is no pressure. They also have a wide selection of shoes to choose from. Today while shopping for a new pair, the owner Gary spent close to an hour fitting me properly into a pair of shoes. He brought out 8 pairs of shoes and watched me walk in each pair to see how I was responding to each shoe. The prior day we went to a new, large store in the CS area. The sales people were quite nice, but, were clueless when it came to a proper fitting. Do yourself a favor, go to a store that knows what they are doing. I have a-lot of foot pain due to being flat footed and having plantar fasciitis. I was waking around downtown Colorodo spring and ran into runner roosters. I went in side and was Greeted immediately, I told him the issues I was having and proceeded to take a look at my stride. After looking , he stated that I had pigeon toe ( which I had no idea ) and had me try on a few pair of shoes and a pair of slides. He checked my stride on all the shoes and was very informative when explaining the different benefits of each shoe. I proceed to purchase the HOKA ONE ONE and it's like a whole new world where I'm walking on a cloud. Very comfortable shoes and you can feel the cushions with every stride you take. This place is a great place to go if you have foot pain or you just want to buy some long distance running shoes. Highly recommend!!!! read more

I had a really great experience here. I came in just to browse, but then I saw a shoe I'd been wanting to try on for a while. Jake grabbed a pair for me and gave me some more info on it while I tried it out. It turned out not being my favorite, but then Jake grabbed a slightly different model which I ended up loving! I work in a different running store in California, so I could have gotten the shoes I bought for a discount back home. Excellent customer service! The shop employee evaluated my foot placement when I walked and had me try 3 different brands of shoe. I chose Brooks brand and it is so comfy and provides good support. Runners Roost was one of the most helpful running stores I have ever been to. I just relocated to Colorado Springs a few weeks ago and due to the elevation change I wanted to start running to get acclimated faster. Unfortunately for me, I developed shin splints, a runners worst nightmare. My friends recommended I visit a running store to make sure I am wearing the proper sneakers. Runners Roost was conveniently located downtown and employs the most knowledgable, courteous, and kind individuals. Linda was absolutely amazing. She first had me run in my own sneakers and was able to determine what type of runner I am. I found out that I have been wearing sneakers that are a size too small for me, go figure! Linda had me run a few laps in different types of sneakers and watched intently as my feet struck the ground. About 20min later I purchased the perfect running sneaker, Brooks! I was so pleased with their service I brought my husband to get fitted for new sneakers! Came in from out of town earlier this evening and decided to stop into the store for a new pair of running shoes. When my sarcastic greeting was immediately returned with a great rebuttal - I knew I'd come to the right place!! Social and approachable employees are a definite must in a running shop. My receipt (because I definitely made a purchase) says that Patrick was my salesman, but I'm not 100% sure who it was that helped me find my new running shoes. There were two employees working, and both were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a gait analysis done, and were presented with a variety of shoe options. I found a great new pair of road running shoes as well some new socks. I am very happy with my experience, and am looking forward to hitting the pavement (or rubber track?) with my new digs. 5 Stars all the way! My family happened upon Runner's Roost and I'm so glad we did. Gary was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to educate us about the difference between running shoes, cross trainers and trail shoes. He patiently brought out different styles and brands for us to try on. We are not exactly accomplished athletes but he made us feel at home and answered all of our questions. We ended up buying running shoes and trail shoes for myself and running shoes and pants for our daughter. We went to the Runners Roost on 12-30-19 just before 2:00 P.M. to buy running shoes. Staff did not greet or acknowledge us when we entered the store, but they appeared busy so we browsed the store waiting for them to help the other customers already present first. After waiting for over ten minutes, my husband stood by the register and waited for the staff, but neither of the two store associates offered us any assistance or spoke to us. I sat down and waited for the staff to finish with the other customers, but when they had completed their shopping and left the store, the staff set about tidying up and avoided us rather than assist us with a shoe purchase. After 16 minutes and no sign of being helped, we left. Terrible service. I do not recommend. read more

I visited Runner's Roost Monday, 5/08/18.My sales associate was Carlos. He was wonderful and knowledgeable. I was so very frustrated by the poor information and lack of knowledge I had received from numerous sporting goods stores. I was purchasing shoes that were not up to the task and it was taking a toll on my body. As a 60 year old woman, I walk a minimum of 5 miles 5 nights a week and I needed shoes that would support my overall body properly. Carlos took his time with me and offered me a wide range of choices. I settled on a pair of Saucony. I drove straight to one of two favorite walking spots. I took shoes from box, put them on and started.my walk. 5 miles, no knee or sciatic pain. They were wonderful. Two hours later I took a 6 mile evening walk. Still awesome. I woke up a bit sore of course from lots of muscle work, but no actual pain that stretching couldn't resolve. My family and I have bought almost all of our running shoes from Runners Roost over the past 14 years because of the personalized and expert service that is their trademark. My last pair of Brooks were becoming extremely worn due to many more miles being logged during the pandemic, so worn that even I noticed the uneven strike when walking (and I am not a great observer). I left a message on the store's voicemail and promptly had a call back from Gary who told me he had a couple of different options in stock. I had a new pair of Brooks within just a couple of days. Thanks, Gary! My feet (and knees) are happier and I was glad we could help out in some small way during the pandemic. Rudely, my wife and I came in to the store 30 minutes before store closing on a Sunday night. Having worked in retail, I know how that can rub you the wrong way. Two young gentleman were working - I wish I had caught their names to give them kudos. Both were helpful, non pushy and professional. They listened to what we were looking for and made some recommendations. When I asked about a more expensive brand that I had previously worn (I can't wear sneakers now due to a foot injury), they offered to bring them out to try but openly advised the name probably wasn't worth the money given my wife's shoe needs. It's so rare these days to not be pushed to buy the most expensive item in retail so they can make a bigger profit! Anyway, we listened to their recommendations and found that they were right. Ultimately, we decided to hold off on buying the pair of shoes as we didn't want to make a rush decision and the store was about to close. However, these two gents were gracious and never gave us a hard time or offered anything other than support. We will be back here given this store superior and non judgmental attitude. BEST running shoe store ever. Traveled from PA to visit a friend. I have been fitted for my last few pairs of running shoes but here they WATCHED me run! There is a track lane down the store and my salesperson, Jenn, initially asked what I've been running in and whether I liked them/was unhappy. I had been running in neutral shoes for last 5 years that other specialty running shoes put me in. About a month ago I went in to my usual running store saying I was having IT band issues and they told me to foam roll more and sent me out in the same Brooks. Here, after 2 seconds of watching me run they identified that I needed a stabilization shoe and helped me pick out the perfect pair. They even talked me out of the more expensive shoes I thought were cuter because I didn't run as well in them. Amazing service and I can't wait for my next training run. Will just have to come back to Colorado when it's time for another pair. read more
