I've been going to Dr. Rouhana at the Westside Dental Group for the last 5 years and every experience has been great. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to see a hygienist and Dr. Rouhana is always quick to get me in if there's an issue that needs immediate attention. All of the hygienists are careful and friendly. I really appreciate Dr. Rouhana's attention to detail and his practical approach to keeping my mouth healthy. Their office is very clean and nicely decorated. They are often open late and also open on certain Saturdays which is great for my busy work schedule. When I have an appointment during the week, my office is in the CBD so it only takes 10 minutes for me to get there and everyone I work with now goes to Westside. From minor cosmetic work to root canals, Westside Dental group has been able to do everything I need quickly and affordably. Not extraordinarily expensive, but also not unbelievably cheap. They do really excellent work here, though! I grew up going to the LSU Dental School for all of my dentistry needs until I was 18. Then my dentist developed a brain tumor and passed away and it was time to find someone new. I'm super picky about people who touch me. I'm not big on changing doctors or dentists. It's a really big deal to me. So when I started taking my mom's beagle to dog training classes at PetSmart (the training is a joke, but he was a rescue and really needed to be socialized), I was THRILLED to meet Dr. Laura Hogue hoping to tame her crazy dog, Jackson. She and her husband own and operate Westside Dental with two other male dentists. Dr. Laura sees pediatric patients and the other dentists work with adults. I am more comfortable seeing female doctors and dentists, so even though I'm in no way a pediatric patient, Dr. Laura agreed to see me as a friend and refer me to her husband if she encountered something she was not experienced dealing with while working with children. I came here multiple times the first year to have my old silver fillings removed and replaced with porcelain! Now you'd have to be a dentist to know how bad my teeth are! They use a porcelain that is similar to your tooth color so you really don't see any of the fillings! My boyfriend sees Dr. Laura's husband, Dr. Charles Hogue, and was very impressed with the care; he'd never been to a dentist before in his life and Dr. Charles made the experience a very pleasant one! My parents are both professionals and they also see Dr. Charles Hogue and speak highly of Westside. I don't think I've ever been in the waiting room more than five minutes. All the equipment is new-ish. They have digital x-rays that don't hurt much to take (less of the pinching feeling you get with older machines), and they do it from the comfort of your chair! Upon visiting Westside Dental for a crown and filling on July 22, 2021, I was treated rudely and maliciously by several members of the staff, to include the dentist himself, his assistant, and the receptionist who handled my finances and post-op treatment. I came for a crown and a filling that quickly turned into a prospected root canal. I was proscribed a root canal despite never having any pain or visible damage to my tooth (even by way of X-ray as the dentist himself admitted!). In the process of his botched work, the dentist sawed my tooth down to a nub, the discomfort of which I can still feel to this day (5 months later). During the process, he failed to properly anesthetize me so I felt an inordinate amount of the painful administering of the procedure. Once he abruptly left the procedure claiming that I needed to get my root canal done elsewhere (even though the WSD website claims to perform root canals), I was mishandled by his assistant. She rudely and tersely shuffled me out of the operating room responding to all of my inquiries abruptly and dismissively. Furthermore, she failed to administer an adequate amount of oxygen to help restore me to a clear mind state after the anesthesia had left me lightheaded. When I closed things out with the receptionist upfront, she also handled all of my questions abruptly, rudely and dismissively. I could say that I got the strong sensation that I was just another number to be processed and pushed out, but that would be an understatement. The treatment felt intentional, punitive and malicious. As an over 10 year customer of Westside Dental I was shocked and appalled as it took me by utter surprise. I have since found a much more conscientious dentist who handles her work with much more care and professionalism. But I'm still now forced into a position where I only have half the tooth I once had and may need to get a root canal after all--one that Westside Dental induced! read more

Only 4 stars because at my last visit I ask could I please brush my teeth after Dr. Q removed my wires to replace them with the next size. He told me no he didn't have time. And, I mean one of the best of ANY medical practice from which I have received treatment. His office is clean to the extreme, but remains comfortable and relaxing for children, teens, and adults. Service is prompt and on schedule, and ancillary personnel are personable and well trained. I have been seeing Dr. Rouhana for about two years after being with the same dentist for many years. Invariably, my appointments are on time, without complications, and altogether a pleasant experience.
