I love supporting my local libraries because they are such a great resource to the community and cater to a variety of interests. Notes: They have nice lounge chairs sit and work in or to read in. The lady in charge, a french woman named Claire took me on a tour and explained what their purpose is. This place is a non for profit community outreach program. They are especially aimed at providing the local neighborhood youth with after school programs. They also teach computer classes to help the elderly or computer illiterate learn how to use a computer. That's just a few of the the great programs that they got to help out the community. In short this is a great resource center that helps out the community.

It seems like they offer a lot of activities for all ages, and even a pretty large pool out back. It's apparently able to be rented out since the 3 events I've been to in the last year have all been private dancing events. I've been twice for a ballroom dance competition for kids called the Mindsteppers competition as well as a dance recital. There's plenty of parking nearby since where the neutral ground would normally be, they've created angled parking spots. It's the only place in the city where I've seen this, and honestly it's kind of ingenious and this city could use more parking like that as well as more community centers like this one.

It has a really nice playground and play area for kids and a lot of nice greenery. It's not the biggest park, but it's really nice for what it is. There is a good number of different covered areas that can be used for picnics as well as a large baseball field. There is also a gazebo that can be rented for parties and other gatherings. Recently the park added a huge recreation center that contains a full size basketball court complete with retractable bleachers. This was built in order to encourage kids in Gretna and surrounding areas to play sports and stay involved in their community. There is also a huge meeting space that can be rented for different events or meetings.
