They do nice work but they do not communicate well with clients, in fact, they never reach out... it's all up to you.. We dropped off a damaged desk in Feb 2023 that they contracted to complete by June 30th 2023. Well, June 30th came and went and no calls from them. We had to constantly call or stop by to see what was going on with our desk. They kept pushing back the date monthly and gave us so many silly excuses every time. After 7 long months, we had it and demanded they complete the project in 2 weeks. They did complete it in the 2 weeks as we insisted by Sept 22, 2023. The desk was restored to our satisfaction. However, I cannot recommend them to others due our experience and frustrations dealing with them. Lack of basic good customer service and breaching their own timelines by months at a time is unacceptable. read more

I needed the cushion inserts replaced on my sofa and Captain's chair. My sofa is custom made and the cushions aren't your typical dimensions and need to be custom cut in order to fit properly. They provided quick and friendly service and the pricing was on par with other businesses that I had found. I love that they're a family run business and not far from where I live. In July, I brought my office chair here to be repaired and restored after sending them some pictures and them saying it could be done. The building seemed a little crowded and hot when I arrived. They had me fill out some paperwork and they sent me on my way. They did not give me an estimate right away. After a month of reaching out 5 times (including one day of them being "sure they already told me a price" still without telling me a price) I got an estimate on the chair. A little expensive, but they already had the chair for a month and I did really want it restored. I told them the price was fine. Over a month later I reach back out and asked if there was an estimated time frame on when the chair would be finished (we are now in August, and our email thread has 17 messages back and forth). The following day I received a message from them asking if I had called in a down payment. This was the first time a down payment was ever mentioned. To which I responded, how have you had this chair for over two months and this is the first time I'm hearing about a down payment? Their response was that they apologize for the confusion, and asked if I would like to make the down payment now to move forward. I told them no thank you and that I would be picking up my chair the next day. Now it is today, and I have picked up me chair. Nothing has been done to it and it was covered in cobwebs. What a HUGE waste on my time. All to get back a dusty ass chair. read more

I wish I could vouch for their work, but after 3 months of lies that they were working on it they never so much as touched my piece. I dropped a sewing table to be repaired and refinished in late June; a simple job I thought would be a good representation of their work before I brought the really precious stuff in. I didn't hear anything for a month so I emailed in early August; I was told it would be ready next week. They even told me it was on the calendar for August 15th. Two weeks later I still hadn't heard anything so I emailed again. Almost done I was told, one more week. I got busy, and realized it had been another month and I hadn't heard anything. Worried that something had happened to my furniture that I wasn't being informed about, after three months, I decided to pick my piece up. It turns out it has been untouched. The owner's response? He can only report the status he's given. He's got too many projects so he's too busy to follow up or give you updates. Well good news! RESPONSE TIME = 20 DAYS AND STILL COUNTING... I am hoping to be able to have the situation rectified and hopefully be able to give a much better review, but the customer service that I have experience so far has been extremely poor. I first contacted them on March 11th, spoke with a gentleman (I don't like to leave names) and he had me e-mail him some pictures to obtain a quote. I sent the E mail and called him back and he verified that he received the E mail and would get me a quote within 24 to 48 hours... It is now March 31st, still have not received any word from him. I called back and he did not apologize or anything just said send me the E mail so I re-confirmed that he needed me to re-send the email that he had received 20 days ago he said yes and hung up the phone. I understand it's a Sunday, he was on his way into church and I'm thankful that he answered the phone with it being a Sunday I figured that I would just need to leave a message. I work in customer relations and it is extremely important to me that you do what you say you're going to do and if you happen to fall short because life does happen, you apologize and you get right on it to make things right. Just bothers me that there was absolutely no remorse for the situation whatsoever and was really cold about the whole thing. I would like to give them another chance, however I have sent out the same email that I sent to him to numerous other restoration businesses in the area. At the end of the day I would like to get the best deal, but it is much more important that I help out small businesses that want my business and appreciate new business. ***By the way, I also mentioned to him on the 11th that depending on the job of this 1st piece that there were several pieces of furniture that me and my family are going to need restored in the very near future, so if they can take this approach with someone who could give them a ton of business and a ton of money makes me wonder how they treat people who just need one chair or 1 loveseat re-done. read more

Sent numerous emails and text messages (as recording from their office number said is the best way for a response.) I contacted the company. It has been nearly a month and nobody has responded to inquiry as to how much a deposit I would need to pay. They also charge over $140 for pick-up and the same for delivery. This is a follow-up to my August 2020 review. I upgraded my rating from a 1 to a 3 because when we returned the piece and Anthony agreed to "make it right." After 5+ months, I was informed that the chair was ready. It was a great improvement from what was delivered to me in August. While Anthony kept his word and made it right, communication and follow-up are things that are not a priority for them. There was no communication from Westwood unless I made an inquiry via email. Only email appeared to work in terms of receiving information. In one exchange, I was told it would be ready by Monday. I received nothing on Monday and on Wednesday wrote to ask if it was ready. I received an email saying it was sent back to finishing because Daniel found something he felt needed to be fixed and it would be ready by Friday. While I greatly appreciated that, it would have been nice to have received a call or note saying that Monday was a "no go." Friday came and went with no communication. This week, I finally received a note that simply read, "Your chair is ready." As I stated earlier, after the second time around, the chair looks nice. I believe that improving customer service and communication would go a long way toward improving their business. read more

I have 2 desks which belonged to my Mother and Grandmother that had their tall thin legs broken in a move. I dropped them off in June during COVID and it did take a while to get them back since they had been closed and were backed up. But everyone was affected by that. Daniel, the owner got involved finally and they got them out quickly. They do beautiful work and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone for beautiful restorations or repairs. It looked better but at a closer looked, it was just lazy work and I had to get it all redone! So! While Westwood might not be cheap, you get what you pay for! what a horrible operation. first, i took a day off for them to come to the house to look at several broken pieces. at the last minute, called and said couldnt make it...something else came up. when they did come out they took pictures in order to provide me with an estimate.good so far. then i get a demanding email saying i have to pay for the estimate right away. i told them i would pay once i got the estimate from them and would give a credit card. their answer. no estimate until i pay.they also said the fee for the estimate would be credited towards the repairs. i reminded them of this but they ignored it and demanded for me to pay in advance. i had about $3000 in repair work i was going to give to them, they seemed so worried about $100, and not their customer, i went somewhere else. should be very afraid here read more

Few people are still in this business. Westwood re-stained a dresser top, on which I had spilled a full bottle of wall flower fragrance liquid. (That stuff is brutal!) They provided an upfront estimate, along with a timeframe, and they delivered on both. The resulting work was excellent. Not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. This is the worst place to have anything reupholstered! DO NOT go here, it's amazing that they have been in business as long as they have. I wish I could give it a negative star but this is not a option. Here's some of my experience: They blamed my fabric as to the reason they could not match up stripes. My skirts on chairs and ottoman were too short. They cut the legs on my furniture to "fix" the problem. I had NO idea they were going to do this. I had flange done on another chair and ottoman. It came back very uneven. I was told it was "hard to do". They don't use a finishing stitch to keep the fabric from unraveling either. They don't redo stuffing, you'll get the same old stuffing already on your furniture. Your furniture will not look new. It will be the same old piece with a new fabric. I told them to get out of my house. Oh, and get this, they told me I was being unprofessional... They were willing to redo my furniture but I refused. Because when they would return my furniture it would have to be returned at least 3 times. With the issue still not taken care of. I asked for a refund because I no longer trusted them. I was told they wouldn't do this. So, my only recourse is to warn you! I DO NOT trust these people, you shouldn't either. read more

Horrible horrible customer service. Horrible restoration!!! Do not use. They are liars and just say anything they want. I hired them to restore a sewing machine a full restoration. They charged me over $800.00. I paid $150.00 just for new veneer. It took almost 5 months to get it back when I was told 4 to 6 weeks. I was told so many different stories. The weather, it will be done within the week, etc. finally received it back and it was horrible. They only replaced the center piece of the veneer. They did not replace the side top and you could see the old veneer bubbling up and on the other side you could see where the old veneer was missing. Needless to say I called and wanted some kind of refund. I spoke to the owner who acknowledged from the pictures I sent him that they had made a mistake and didn't realize I wanted it all restored. WHAT? So next story from the owner, the person working on it just upped and quit and no one knew where the pieces were. Meanwhile the whole 4 months I was getting other stories. He said he would redo it. I said no way you had 4 months to do it. Anyway I was forced to file disputes with my bank. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company. It is with a great deal of disappointment that I am writing this review. I hired Westwood Restoration due to their reputation for quality work and good customer service. I hired them to repurpose an armoire into a bar. I paid $1,800 to have them put in 3 wine drawers, put wine glass holders in the ceiling and install 2 quarter shelves to hold bottles on each side of the armoire. The armoire is mahogany. The refurbishment was to be done in keeping with the quality of the armoire. WR used thin ply wood to make the wine bottle drawers. They are thus very wobbly. They also were not sized properly and they do not hold wine bottles. Additionally, only 1 row of the wine glass holders on the ceiling hold glasses. The others were put in with the wrong spacing. The quarter side shelves are the only part of the refurbishment that was quality work. WR delivered the armoire a week late and I was moving. It had to be loaded on the moving trunk the day it was delivered. When I unpacked the armoire I discovered the shoddy job that they had done. I took a video of all of the problems and sent it to them. I am going to need to have a woodworker in Boston redo the job. WR has told me they will not pay for any of it. I am both surprised and disappointed that they do not stand by their work. read more
