This review is for the restaurant...I didn't golf there. A beautiful Bar and Grill with plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the golf course. We ordered very well made margaritas! We had the naked buffalo wings...very good. They weren't baked..lol!! Great sauce and good dipping sauces. Dinner was the Tuscan veggie wrap with sweet potato fries...they were perfectly cooked. The worst golf course I've ever played. You had no idea where to hit the golf ball. There were too many blind shots and no GPS to show where the hole was going. Also, the halfway shack was closed and it was a holiday weekend. They only had 1 cart girl and no water to drink. It wouldn't suprise me if this place went bankrupt. read more

I just played West Wing the course was in great shape. There is a lot of beautiful holes on the course. The greens were in great shape and were receptive. The putts rolled true with no bounce. You half to be conservative on the Tee shots. The staff was really nice. And the negative side, the cart paths our shared on a few holes which is a little frustrating. read more

My boyfriend and i came here on Sunday around 11:15a to eat, before we went to Bald Mountain to shoot some clays. My boyfriend loves breakfast food...me, not so much. They only serve breakfast until noon, which i found out about by asking for a lunch menu. Our waitress, Tiffany was super nice because after i pondered over the breakfast menu for quite some time, she came over and handed me a lunch menu. She said she went and asked the cook if they would be willing to make something off of the lunch menu, which the cook agreed to because it wasn't busy in there at all. It was such a nice gesture for out waitress to go out of her way to make sure i was happy! I ordered the nachos, and i ate a ton of them, but still didn't seem to make a dent in them!!! They were so good, with FRESH jalapenos, not the jarred ones! My boyfriend got the blueberry pancakes, which looked amazing! Also, the coffee was really really good!!!! The have really nice seating inside and outside on the patio. The patio overlooks the golf course and if you get a window seat you also can see the golf course. The patio has some tables that have the firepit, which would be awesome on a fall evening. The ladies bathroom was super clean, actually, the whole place was really clean. If you're not a golfer but want to have a nice view, while having a great meal, with exceptional service, this is the place to come!!!! read more

Very nice golf course. Too bad the 2 leagues I'm in will never come back here. Customer service is the worst we've experienced not just today, but the other times we were here. From Jimmy at the counter, to Lee the ranger. Ranger Lee was rushing us right at our first hole while waiting to hit our second shot. Players in front were still reachable. They pack the course with players then rush everybody on the course. Lee even said, "if you don't like it then DON'T COME BACK HERE! These employees seem to hate their jobs. I wonder if the owner of this course knows about this. You don't say that to a paying customer. At any rate, there are many courses that will appreciate our business and Westwynd just lost 45 players. read more

Well-maintained and scenic club set in a wealthy community. Has golf, pool, tennis and dining facilities that are similar to what you'd expect at a low to mid-priced private club. The course itself is a difficult track. Undulating hills, numerous sand traps and expansive natural grass and wetland areas equal high scores and a number of lost balls. High-handicappers should steer clear of this place altogether. You'll have a tough time here and rest assured that the rangers will let you hear about it. It's not often that I get heckled on a golf course by anyone outside my group. However, rude and obnoxious behavior evidently come with the greens fee here. On a recent round, one of the rangers repeatedly berated us for poor play, slow play (no one was behind us) and for actually observing proper etiquette. Yes, really. Needless to say, I won't be back. However, if you're looking for a challenging course with Ryder Cup-like "gallery" behavior from the staff, maybe this is the place for you. Final score Facility: 4 stars Staff: -3 stars read more

The course design is awful, but it's pretty to look at. Beginners and your average hack should steer clear of the course. Forced carries all over the place, and far too penal bunkers. Put one in a FW bunker and it's essentially a 1 shot penalty. Thankfully they've cut down some heather which has helped, but ever time I play this place I remember why I haven't come back in 3 years. There are 3 terribly designed holes on this course, which isn't surprising since the guy that designed isn't a golf course architect: Hole 5, a 450 yard par "5". OB left, junk right, the landing area is ridiculously small, and you're forced into a layup on the 2nd because the green is tucked away. So it's FW wood, 8 iron, wedge. Better off if they moved the green to the other side of the creek and made it into a decent par 4. Hole 10: Worst hole I've ever played. 650 yards, plays about 725. There is no miss off the tee, then you have to navigate your way around wetlands on the left, and succumb to a forced carry of about 150 for your approach. Hole 15: Another bad par 4. Forced to hit a short iron off the tee because the FW pinches down to MAYBE 15 yards wide. Often you're hitting a longer 2nd shot than tee ball. Honorable mention of bad holes goes to #2, all of the par 3s except 4 (hitting uphill 30 feet every time is ridiculous and boring), 8, and 17. Long par 4s should not force you to lay up off the tee! Also have to say I had terrible service at the restaurant. I asked if they had "seasoned fries" and she said yes. 30 minutes later, after asking about my order twice, I got my "fries". A plate of regular fries, which looked like a kid's happy meal, for 4 bucks! lol About the only thing they have going for themselves is that they hire hot beer girls. read more

Playing this course, it had its pros and cons. It was well maintained mostly, and fairly challenging for a novice player, with plenty of hazards to navigate. A few of the holes had shared putting greens which was a little confusing having not seen this type of layout before. In reference to that, we'd be playing to the hole and then all of the sudden a foursome would be on our green without any warning which was aggravating and distracting! Water hazards on the score card weren't always well marked so losing a ball in a creek or swamp unexpectedly was a caveat. Additionally, there were no placards at the tee box offering any kind of quick reference as to hole design, or more importantly yardage, before teeing off. That aside, it was a pretty course but not one I'd go out of my way to play again. read more

This is a nice spot to enjoy a drink on their patio or dine in the bar. Family friendly. Best chicken wings in se Michigan that no one knows about...order the sriracha dry rub. You won't be disappointed. Other family favorites include the chicken wrap, burger, and steak tacos. read more

Worst golf course ever! Poor management! Front desk is not friendly. They actually ignored me for a bit because they were flirting with a cart girl. The maintenance workers talk during your swing and don't stop. One guy actually parked his cart in the middle of the fairway and stared at us. There is many other things that happened that I can't believe they let happen at a course like this one. I never write reviews and I didn't really believe the other reviews because people always blame there bad playing on the course but trust me this is a horrible course will never be back I'll stick to just playing greystone and the orchards. read more

Definitely one of the top 5 courses I've played regarding scenery and value. Only $30 to play in a wealthy country club setting with views of the Rochester skyline and multi million dollar homes! Great layout and well maintained. Only thing that was a turnoff was the rude starter at the beginning that threatened to kick me off the course if i drove off the cart path. Played at Westwynd while I was in the area on business. The course is challenging, but the maintenance was not great. The tees were shaggy, bald spots on several greens, and most of the traps had standing water. The course is interesting as the most of the par threes require uphill tee shots. The shortest par three has a narrow two-tier green and requires an accurate tee shot. Course management is your key to success. The other odd thing was that no matter the elevation, all of the fairways were wet. read more

I play westwynd every week, and every week I am frustrated by this ridiculous golf course. They renumbered the holes so that the turn grill would be useful but they have not staffed it since May. You start out par 5-3-5-3-5-3... it's stupid. they put up two dollar signs on each hole with no info. They have multi hole greens where you need a helmet Or a chair to wait for people to get out-of-the-way. After four years of playing here I am voting to move our league somewhere else. Sister course to wyngate in Rochester. Thought the layout was very nice but the conditions were average. The tees were a mess which effects stance and the greens ranged from decent to really beat up. Probably more a result of the folders then the course management but still an issue. Some very nice views Paid 45 dollars and felt it was worth it. Toughest Track I have ever played, but with that said it is beautiful, the old reviews are just that old, Placks at every hole to give direction, course is absolutely beautiful. Tough but beautiful bring a box of balls, play conservatively with your drives, pay attention to the hazarods and the traps. have fun!!! read more
