We are Seniors and had a 815a tee time, this is my 2nd time here and we came on Tuesday because it's $30 for Seniors. We were met by Luke at the register, he assisted us with towels for golf carts, seats were soaking wet. 1st thing he pointed out that the course was being watered. Who is managing this place, the greens had water on them very spongy, almost every green, the coup de gra was the 17th hole, the maintenance guy turned the water on the green and kept it on and the 2-some we let play through could not play there 2nd shot, neither could our 4-some, we picked up & took a 4 on that hole. That was the last straw, we finished the 18th and l promised the group that this was the last time l play at the "Myth". Seniors have the luxury to play anywhere, who is managing this golf course?? Note: l shot a 42 front & 44 back without finishing 17th hole. We are not accustomed to putting through water, even if we pay $30‍ read more

For starters, the Woman at the counter was incredibly rude! I had a tee time for 3:08 for 9 holes. When I went to check in she claimed that I could not play, because I there were a lot of people on the course and I was walking. When I asked why it would matter that there were a lot of people on the course, she said that I would be too slow because I was walking, and that I would hold everyone up. That it would be my fault. She then said that I could play the Par Three course, or leave. The course itself is riddled with goose poop and the grass is unkept. So irritating, and unfortunate. read more

The course is beautiful and well maintained. The clubhouse is nice as well as the banquet room. I think the reason the place has gotten bad reviews is due to the old staff. The staff we met were very friendly, helpful and we had a great experience. The golf carts are new, the course was challenging enough for a beginner like me but not too hard and the scenery was really pretty. Really enjoyed playing here and plan to come back. This is an absolute joke of a golf course, tree roots protruding on the greens, pace of play is horrible because people slice their ball a mile into your fairway and when they come looking for their ball, they don't pick up and just continue to play FROM YOUR FAIRWAY, officers don't enforce rules or safety, staff will yell at you to skip holes because there are weddings (even though we paid for a full 18) and god forbid there is an accident, management won't help with holding the offending party accountable and will gaslight you into leaving as soon as possible so the other patrons don't see the mess they have created, all to save face and what little customer base they have left. please for the love of God, do not go here and just go to better courses. read more

Horrible. Greens are in terrible shape! Greens seem like they have never been cut. Putting on greens is guesswork. Bare patches on the greens. Some tee boxes are bare dirt. Some tees are even pointed in the wrong direction. Never will play there again. read more

Quite the laid back golf course. In really good shape, the grounds are. Signage is almost non existent. Very quick pace of play. Driving across the wooden boards, to next holes, almost seems like going on an fashioned roller coaster! Still can't believe the course ATE at least 4-5 of my golf balls ! read more

Course is fine, but Debbie is always in a bad mood. Don't try to ask for a walk-in. Despite checking on GolfNow and seeing that every tee time was open for the next 2.5 hours, she complained about me not scheduling online, saying they were "busy". They clearly weren't "busy" because there were maybe 10 cars in the parking lot and I played the whole 18, took my time, and no group behind me in sight. Plus she charged me $5 extra than the posted online rate. Plenty of other courses worth your money over this place. read more

Over booked my tee time. Just worries about money since they bought new carts. No care for people anymore. Had to wait extra time just to golf 9 holes and they wouldn't even let me golf the back 9 since they let other people that were on the same time as me. read more

Was at my nieces shower and started popping balloons from our balloon arch with full intentions of picking up all the rubber that was left-the woman running the shower -not sure what her name is came out screaming at me and embarrassing me in front of the whole room-could of handled the situation much quieter and more professional -will absolutely not have any event here in the future. read more

Worst par 3 ever! They need a ranger out there, 7-8 people on a green at one time is insane. Many people were jumping around different holes to keep playing past the 9 they paid for. read more

This course has so much potential however it is maintained so poorly. We got in to our cart, the seat was ripped, the flashing on the sides was torn off and the parking brake did work. As for the course, the wooden bridges were rotting and falling apart, the stairs to many of the tee boxes were rotted. It is very sad to pay this amount of money and feel like you are golfing somewhere not maintained or cared about by Vargo Golf. read more

I've played both the par-3 and the 18-hole course so I'll review both. First off the staff at the Myth are fantastic, I have been late before and they have been very accommodating. Price: I played both courses after getting a deal on on Birdie Bug where I played 18 holes on the full course for the price on 9 holes and a special for the par 3. I would say the 18 hole course is a better value than the par 3. The par 3 is a little pricey for what it is. Par 3: The course is fairly nice; a fun little course. This is not too difficult of a course but they have a couple challenges set up with either water or trees. My only complaint is that on the 8th hole the tee box was flipped forcing me to tee off to a green I had already played. After realizing that couldn't have been correct I looked and saw the box was flipped I noticed it would be completely impossible to tee off where they wanted because I would be teeing off directly into a tree. There were also holes where the foot golf players interfered with my round which was a bummer. 18 hole: This is a challenging "novelty" style course with some extreme dog legs and a number of water hazards. Personally, I prefer a more open style course but if you like the challenges you'll like this. The ride around the course is very nice, you spend half of the time in the woods on a wooden planked bridge. Now, the only complaint I have for the course is that at times riding on this wooden bridge can leave you very uncomfortable because I needs to be repaired very badly. There are missing planks, broken planks, and planks that are coming up which leaves for a bumpy ride at times and sometimes it causes you to be nervous. Overall a pretty nice course. read more

I can't say enough great things about The Myth Golf and Banquet Hall! We held my son and daughter-in-law's wedding there in August of 2022 and it was amazing! The price was very reasonable and the venue was absolutely beautiful! The food was awesome and we got so many compliments! The manager, Debbie was so helpful and accessible. She helped us through all the planning and was present the day of the wedding to make sure all went well. We are so thankful for all that was done at the venue to make sure our day was absolutely perfect! I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding or other special event! read more

Yelp really needs an option to leave no stars at all. If that were an option, that's what I would choose for The Myth. I attended a shower here on Sunday and was so disappointed (and I wasn't even the bride). Before even considering this place whether it be for golf (the course is awful and poorly kept) or for a wedding or shower, PLEASE scroll to the bottom and read the "Reviews Not Currently Recommended" There you will find MANY reviews - a majority of them recent, from very unhappy customers. First off, the room wasn't set up properly. No apology was given, just an excuse that Laura (the coordinator) has so many weddings she forgets what each person tells her...........nice - just what every paying customer wants to hear from the person in charge of setting up for his or her special day. I found the coordinator Laura to be rude and abrasive, not only to the bride and groom, but to the guests and her staff as well. I witnessed this behavior on more than one occasion during the shower. It was embarrassing. The food was brought out at the wrong time. Not only was it brought out at the wrong time, it was terrible. Not sure how a facility could screw up sandwiches, soup and salad but they did. Not to mention, it was just thrown on platters and on to the table. The soup was cold and the sandwiches weren't even cut properly. The whole set up was just so unprofessional looking. I am not sure how any coordinator would have allowed that to be set up that way. The ice water smelled like sulfur - it was such a strong and offensive odor I couldn't believe that this was allowed to be brought out to tables. They ran out of champagne early - clearly poor planning on the Myth's part. Something as simple as champagne should have been ordered properly. Clearly management has no clue how to plan. Laura then brought a couple in to the shower (a potential client) - to show them around the facility, DURING the shower. They didn't just peek in to see what the venue looked like, they were given a tour which I thought was completely inappropriate. Last but not least - while the bride and groom were opening gifts, I kid you not, Laura started vacuuming. Yes, that's right. Vacuuming. During a bridal shower. I was sitting at a table towards the back, and all of a sudden we heard a vacuum cleaner turn on and there she was - vacuuming away. The windows, the carpet, etc. Again, all while the bride and groom were opening gifts. All of us at the table were in disbelief as there was not a single reason why she needed to be vacuuming at that time. I actually felt like we were all on candid camera for a moment. I was speechless. We all were. Again, please. I beg you. Before you book this place for a wedding or a shower or even consider looking at it read the reviews not currently recommended at the bottom of the Yelp screen. They aren't pretty. read more

I'm pretty surprised to see all of the bad reviews! My husband and I just had our wedding at this venue and were SO happy with everything - it was nothing short of perfect (other than the rain, but that can't be helped!). I didn't think Laura was aggressive at all like the other reviewers have said. I found her to be extremely helpful and accessible when we needed her, and she went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was special both leading up to the event and on the day of. I would highly recommend this venue for your wedding! It's super beautiful and the service was great. :) read more

My husband and I got married at the Myth this past September. While the hall and property were very beautiful, the customer service we received was unacceptable. The hall coordinator, Laura, who called herself my "wedding planner," was easy to reach in the months leading up to the wedding. On the day, though, she couldn't be reached when one of my bridesmaids had questions and concerns for her regarding our tables (all of the plates that were set at the tables were DIRTY.). Later, when she actually was around, I felt rushed through my photos. I think this was an effort to get us to move to a different, more recognizable area of the golf course so we would have pictures that she could use in her promotional materials. After dinner, she completely disappeared all together when I was relying on her to walk me through the evening. I've never been married before--I don't know what order the events go in after dinner: cake cutting, dances with mom and dad, bouquet toss, etc. Thank goodness for my friend and photographer, who has photographed tons of weddings--he was able to jump in and help guide me through my night. I heard many complaints that my guests food and drink were taken away too quickly--no one was asked 'are you finished?' Their half eaten dinners and half consumed beverages were swept away before they even had a chance to protest. The wait staff was also very rude to my guests. In one instance I witnessed this for myself, when a blonde, female server swore at my friend's boyfriend for standing in front of the kitchen door, and then shoved past him. He probably shouldn't have been standing there, but 'excuse me' would have been a more appropriate response. One of my guests attempted to gain attention of a server, who, he said made eye contact with him. Instead of acknowledging him, she ignored him and walked past him. No one on site could provide logistical assistance or was even willing to try: Many guests inquired with Myth staff about local ATMs, taxi cab companies or nearby hotels. They just shrugged and advised guests to look to their phones for help. My father had an issue with his suit (the rental place forgot to give him his pants) and so he was late getting to the ceremony. When he arrived, his boutonniere was not where the groomsmen had left it for him. Someone came behind them, willy-nilly cleaned up and threw it away without even thinking to ask if it was important. (It was a fresh, expensive flower in a CLEAR plastic box!) I was very upset that, of all people, my dad had to go through the ceremony and photos without his flower pinned to his lapel. Later, another priceless wedding treasure was thrown away: our piece of wedding cake. My bridesmaids had moved the cake to an area where it was supposed to be safe: the bridal party's dressing room. I actually watched one of them place it on the counter-top near my overnight bag. When I came to retrieve it at the end of the night, I found it in the trash. I perfectly understand that mistakes and accidents happen, but what we experienced on our wedding day constitutes a pattern of disregard and neglect. "Bonus": Two days after my wedding, I had to come back to the hall to pick up my champagne flutes that had accidentally been grabbed by the wait staff. When I walked into Laura's office, she grabbed a clipboard and insisted we "take a walk." She guided me near the banquet hall and said "So, what were you thinking (for your wedding day)?" It took a second for me to react: "Laura, I got married here on Saturday." She tried to laugh it off and halfheartedly apologized--she said she thought I was her next appointment! My family had written this woman checks for several thousands of dollars--we also paid extra for premium upgrades: butler's service and family style dining for 200 people. I was just at the hall the previous day, picking up my centerpieces, and she didn't recognize me. VERY offensive if you ask me. read more

The golf course is in awful condition, The tee boxes are completely worn out what little grass is there is not cut does it look like they water. Piece of play in the front line was three hours and 23 minutes. Calls to the pro shop went on deaf ears. Worst course I've played in 10 years, if I paid a dollar to play I would be disappointed. Worst place ever. Went to a recent bridal shower here and I see Laura has not changed her nasty soul. Laura the one that sets up the events is beyond rude, and not to mention she was yelling at the severs in ear shot of the guest at the shower. Very rude and crazy that the owner doesn't get rid of her and hire someone with some customer service. Laura will be the reason this place has to close its doors. Have reached out to inform owner or Laura's boss of recent experience and have got not reply. Sad to see a single person run this place into the ground. read more

This incident actually took place in June 2011, and it was frustrating enough that my (now) husband and I still tell every person we can who is recently engaged. My father suggested this location. For my father to suggest anything wedding was crazy. So, clearly, we needed to check it out. We had our initial meeting with Laura, their "wedding planner". The room wasn't that clean and looked a bit out dated. I was trying to picture where everything would go or how it would look, and asked for her assistance in picturing that. She walked away rudely like she had something more important to do. So we walked around for a bit discussing everything. She took our on a tour of the grounds, via golf cart, but insisted the 3 of us ride in one while she rode ahead of us stopping periodically to explain a place or two where she would have the photographer go to take photos. My husband and I wanted to discuss it, especially because it was something my dad wanted to take care of for us, so we agreed that we would follow up with her within a couple of business days. This was not really to her liking, but we shrugged it off. Two days later, we decided we would like to reserve our date (was 08/2012). When in Laura's office, I spotted our paperwork which said "came with daddy $$" on it. I should have ran right there, but I didn't. She gladly accepted the $1,200 check though. Fast forward a month or two. My husband and I hit some bumps in the road regarding our wedding. So, we needed to cancel or reschedule one year later. Well, canceling we would lose our deposit or to reschedule, it would be ANOTHER $1,000!!!! Seriously? I understand their cancellation policy, but taking ) $1,200 when she did nothing at all over a year in advance, that's poor business practice. Had it of been weeks before the wedding, sure. To move the date back a year, $1k .... Clearly she was dropped on her head. So, in the end, we were out $1,200 towards our wedding, and have a terrible experience to tell our entire group of friends and family. In the end though, they have lost out on quite a bit of money seeing how my father is a "regular" on the course and will not return to The Myth (which is really appropriate after reading such positive words in The Knot), nor will he golf on any league that goes there. In conclusion, if you're thinking about getting married here, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND/OR MONEY!!!! Well, unless you like unfriendly staff and being treated like garbage. I have golfed at Myth several times and I've never been impressed but never disappointed either. I've golfed at many places and I've seen places maintained better than this. Every time I go to tee off, the ground is all chopped up as if no golfer or staff has respect for the course. When using the bridges they have for the carts, you feel like you're on a cheap and old roller coaster. Some areas of the bridge look like they're ready to fall apart and have big cracks or bumps, so it may never make you feel comfortable. The nice thing about the course is how inexpensive it is. My friends and I never have any trouble reserving a time to tee off and the staff seem friendly; we've never had any trouble with the staff. We always grab a dog or burger before the back-9 and the deals aren't horrible if you're looking to grab a snack. Some of the holes do bring a challenge and I can see how great this place could look if it was maintained better. This wouldn't be my #1 choice but if you're looking for an inexpensive place to go or playing with someone who's still new to the game, Myth isn't a horrible place to consider. Myth is only a place for me to consider when it comes to price and the convenience of its location. Hope my review helps...... read more

The venue it self was beautiful, although I was very unimpressed with the staff and the events coordinator. We went for a tour, we were there for 12 minutes. The coordinator (Laura) rushed through our tour, it almost felt like we had inconvienced her, she hardly greeted us properly or introduced herself. I was also told that being able to sample the menu is a "thing of the past". Sorry, but if I'm spending $5-6,000 to feed 100-150 people, I better be able to taste the food before I select a menu, I don't care how long the chef has been there. Plus every other venue I've toured/talked to has said you can have a tasting upon choosing your menu. I wish this venue was everything I hoped for because it is the beautiful rustic style I'm looking for to hold my special day but after the 12 minutes we spent there, I can tell this place will be a waste of my time/money. read more

This review is about how we were deterred by the "wedding planner" herself from booking our wedding here. We went for a visit to meet with Laura regarding venue availability, options and pricing- and of course to check the place out. She was nice enough, but seemed rushed, as if she had many other things to do even though we were considering dropping thousands of dollars there and were the only vehicle in the parking lot. Their bar options were sub-par, most venues we've looked at have not offered Mohawk vodka- but they do. The food sounded great but they did not offer any type of food tasting- that's kind of an expensive gamble! The only thing we were told was to A) take her word for it and B) check the online reviews. Boy, I've never been so glad I checked the reviews. Wouldn't you read the online reviews yourself before suggesting that others read them? Especially when they're all about how awful you are personally?? I wouldn't book at the Myth for a couple reasons. One being you can find a much more elegant and impressive venue that will allow you to taste the food ahead of time for the same price if not cheaper and you'll likely find a much more professional staff. Additionally, I would not want to place the trust to execute the most important day of my life exceptionally well in the hands of someone who clearly has no business being an event coordinator or wedding planner. I should have checked the reviews first before going to this golf course. We went there for the first time today. I called first to check rates and was told $40 for 18 but $25 after 3 pm for 18 holes. So I booked for 2. We get there, teed off and after 7 holes it started to rain hard which was not in the forecast. We rushed back to the clubhouse and asked for a 9 hole rain check. The young girl at the pro shop said "no". She was willing to give me back $1 per golfer because we paid for twilight rates. I was told $25 for 18 after 3 pm. She would rather disappoint a new customer than please one. This was my first time there and most definitely my last. The course so so at best. Fairways and green are ok but the tee boxes were terrible. I may have lost a few dollars today but is such a very cheap price to pay to learn you have terrible business ethics. You lost a lot of future business today. Oh, and by the way, you may have the $2 that the young girl didn't give back to me. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We used The Myth for our bridal shower today and I could not be more displeased. Laura started vacuuming in the middle of the shower, she got the time wrong and brought the food out right when it started, she doesn't let you in earlier than an hour to set up, they ran out of champagne and to top it all off, she shower another couple the venue in the middle of our shower. There was trash everywhere that we had to ask to get picked up, the room was set up wrong and her reply was "sorry I have so many weddings I forget what each person tells me" that's really reassuring. All I have to say is I am SOOOOOO glad our wedding is not here. Yes, this venue is inexpensive and looks nice but my recommendation is GO ANYWHERE ELSE but this place. If you like hitting off of dirt on every tee box, waiting at every hole, and dealing with an absolute nightmare of a general manager (Matt), then this is the place for you! One of the worst golf courses in the area. Greens and fairways were alright but every tee box is torn up. Along with having no starter out there, the course is always backed up, finding myself waiting at just about every hole. Once I finished my round and returned to the clubhouse, I was approached by the general manager (Matt) and asked why my card was going so fast. He then went on to accuse me of "tampering" with the cart and tell me that I will be responsible for any damages to it. He then went on to call the police after I stated that I have no responsibility with anything done to the cart nor do I have any of the tools to even tamper with it. This is by far the poorest behaviorist seen of any general manager of any business act. It's completely unacceptable to accuse a paying customer of "tampering" with a golf cart during a round because he thinks that one of his beat up golf carts on the course is "driving too fast." I've herd other stories of this general manager showing terrible behavior to the golfers and I will never give this golf course my business ever again. read more

Went golfing with my sister and friend for a fun day out. It's a decent course, although I'm not the best nor most frequent golfer I think it's pretty obvious when courses are good or bad. However, the bridges that connect a lot of the holes are extremely rickety and my party and I were a bit scared driving the carts over them. The help in the pro shop was extremely friendly though and helped us out a lot. read more

I am very disappointed with this venue. I had an appointment with their event planner and was immediately told the wedding was too small for their venue to warrant a Saturday evening wedding. I can say based on how we were treated, I can never recommend using your venue for any event nor will I ever consider golfing at your golf course. Payed $38 first 18. Course was nicely kept. Finished 9 and stopped in for some beverages and the first thing out the managers mouth was " Your group is 15 minutes behind schedule." We said ok, but the manager would not drop it. We explained there was no one in front of us and the group behind us were never waiting for us. But still, the manager kept pushing the issue. The police were eventually called after my buddy was locked out the clubhouse. 15 minutes have passed since making the turn and the group behind us finally comes in. We asked them "were we holding you guys us?" And they said no. Moral of the story is that if you like to feel rushed and pressured into playing at a fast pace than usual,and embarrassed in front of other golfers,I highly recommend this place. read more

Worst path ever. You take your life in your hands. I call it a homemade roller coaster. Not only is the path with the boardwalk in horrible shape but there are trees cut all along next to the path with sharp branches left over that are pointed up. I can only imagine somebody flying out of their cart and becoming impaled. Nice golf course though. read more

Love this track! Great little course away from the hustle of some of the busier places a few miles south. First time was by accident when we tried to go to Bald Mountain after work. There was a one hour wait there. The Myth was wide open and only a few miles away. We've been back several times now. read more

They make their own rules! Rented this venue for a wedding that is 6 hours but the lights go on and the music must stop at 11:30 pm so they can clean up. Vargo's other banquet facility, Golden Hawk, gives you the venue for the entire 6 hours and lights go on at 12. Laura neglects to tell you everything like the cake is served on plastic plates with plastic forks and only for an additional $5 per person will she bring it to the tables. They brought the cut cake out before the bride and groom had even cut the cake. The bride asked her the night of the wedding if someone will carry the plates for herself and the groom and she responded that she wasn't going to do it, which is quite rude. She continually states that she has done a lot of weddings and no one has complained. I believe that is a lie! Her attitude is less than anyone would expect when paying for a service. Her staff is very young and at any given time there was only one person tending bar for 150 guests. Beware that she has exclusive vendors you must use. read more
