So many animal things this was such a cute store! I loved all the cat and dog and mermaid themed stuff!

A nice store with decor, gifts, toys and such.

Bottom Line: Nice gifts, home decor and jewelry. Whale's Tale is a nice and fairly large gift shop located in the Washington Street Mall. They have jewelry, handbags, accessories, tea towels, fancy paper napkins, soaps, candles, puzzles and such. A lot of their items say Cape May or reference famous Cape May landmarks so if you want something to remember Cape May then this is a good place for that. I ended up getting one of my favorite hand soaps from The Thymes line and overall really enjoyed the shopping experience.

Another regular stop on my visits to Cape May! I usually purchase some piece of jewelry as well as a book for the grandsons. A lot of the children's books are a unique beach/boating theme and make a thoughtful memento. The shop is large and not usually overcrowded. The clerks are all pleasantly helpful.?

Good amount of stuff, majoring in toys and jewelry. Great for women, men wanting to buy things for their women, or kids. Everything is clean and organized while the staff is nice

Out of all the Washington Street Mall Souvenir shops we went to, Tale was the most tasteful. A little pricey, but...I guess it comes with the territory. I really don't like going back home without some sort of tchotchke for my family- but I also didn't want to bring along boring Key Chains or Shot Glasses you always see in some rinky-dink place. Tale has posh Souvenirs and again...they came with a price. I picked out a few bowls that can double as jewelry dishes/coin collecting/slash this, slash that- for my sisters, niece and my MiniMe. Since my Mom has always been a Seamstress, I got her a pretty thimble with soft, Beachy colors so she can add to her Thimble Curio cabinet and Cape May Kitchen Towels. I like buying folks Souvenirs they'll use and not trash them. I'll be honest, I'm so picky with those damn flip-flop key chains- I always trash them right out. But here at Tale- you're not getting cheesy.

A woman saw me doing this and very rudely told me that I was "stretching it out and needed to take it off." I admitted to what I thought was an honest mistake and apologized. I was then glared at and made feel uncomfortable as I was trying to get away, as I didn't want the woman to see that she had made me cry. Sharks are my favorite animal, and I was looking forward to getting some merchandise featuring them. I didn't buy anything. I instead left the store in tears.

My wife asked for the dressing room to try them on but they do not have a dressing rooms. Woman at the counter said you can take them home try them on and if they do not fit they can be returned the next day. She did not mention for store credit only, which is the case. We showed up the next day to exchange the item but the larger size was out of stock. We then requested a refund but they only offered store credit as an option. Very disappointed with their customer care. Some businesses are willing to jeopardize customer satisfaction for a sale, and this business is one of them!

I needed to get flowers to someone out of state and preferred to have a local florist make the small percentage of profit. Cape Winds Florist is a family owned and operated business. When I went in, Debbie was working on wedding flowers that looked amazing (In fact, I noticed on the Cape Winds Florist website https://capewindsflorist.net/ that they've won several awards for their wedding arrangements). She told me that she'd had problems with other florists not being terribly consistent so she took the time to look up florists and write down the numbers instead of just taking my order. I can't imagine there's a better place to go for gifts and flowers. Their number is +1 (609) 884-1865.

Not only did I get an email stating that the flowers I ordered a week prior would have to be delivered a day AFTER mother's day, but I also was lied to about the circumstances behind it. They never tried to call me about the order and when I attempted to call them it went to voice mail. When asked about these occurrences, the owner claims ignorance. Avoid this florist. They do not respect their customers with the decency of honesty, nor did they seem to care about completely ruining our mother's day.
